Not yet. That's what we've been discussing. Jason has to implement it still but with the Hyperspin XML files, that should be a lot easier to do. He just needs to extract that information.

What's his e-mail? Can you send me a PM? I've looked for it before and couldn't find it. I sent him a PM before and weeks went by before he even read it. Does he want to be e-mailed? I have no idea of what is the best method to contact him or if he even wants to be contacted.

Cool. Same thing goes for Sega Model 2, Sega Model 3 and Sega Naomi. You can get the xml files with the naming for those systems here: http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/

Yes, Amiga WHdload sets have a specific naming convention similar to mame. I don't know if anyone uses different sets but this has been the only standard Amiga set in the Hyperspin/Rocketlauncher community. I've attached the Hyperspin xml file so you can have an idea. In the xml, game name = rom filename and description = the actual name of the game. Examples: 1943_v1.2 = 1943 - The Battle of Midway LittleComputerPeople_v1.2_0913 = Little Computer People OmnicronConspiracy_v1.0_2200 = Omnicron Conspiracy Killer Gorillas Amiga whdload rom set : http://kg.whdownload.com/kgwhd/ His site: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=28562 Commodore Amiga.xml

Thanks, but they are all in zip files. Rocketlauncher uncompresses them before loading them. I could rename all my zip files with one of the hyperspin renaming tools but that still doesn't help anyone else using whdload rom sets who doesn't have hyperspin or doesn't want to rename their roms. I can fix this in my end. That's not a problem. I was just thinking of everyone else who uses these sets or any of my fellow hyper spinners wanting to make the transition.

I posted this over at the Hyperspin forums, but you can go to my Google Drive and download a set of 1177 PSP wheels https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxAeQbvyScM7UjNWNWNqellPY0E/view?pref=2&pli=1 It might need some sorting. I haven't imported PSP into Launchbox yet. I still need to go through all of them.

Hyperspin has one already so that should make things easier. At least no one has to type all that again. Hope this gets fixed soon.

I have a Whdload set - 2649 games for the Amiga. However when I import it, the games don't get named properly. The retain their original file name. Is there a way around this that I don't know about?

Resolved - Is emu movies worth it? - Informational
Styphelus replied to reddingmyst's topic in Features
Yeah. I was cleaning up a set of DOS boxes for a Hyperspin project but then I found Launchbox and everything got derailed. A lot of them came from Mobygames but they are all in terrible shape and require a lot of work to look good. If you're looking for DOS clear logos, go to the Hyperspin downloads section. There's a set of 1800 clear logos there.. The boxes were part of that same project but are nowhere close to being done. -

Yes. I have a lifetime subscription. If you want videos, manuals and artwork that's the place to go. That is, if you have thousands of games like I do. If you only have a few you can download them manually. Depends on your setup but in either case, I would highly recommend it. -
Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.

DOS76, you are right. They were under Arcade already. But why wouldn't the same game import under a different system? Does this mean I can't have Neo-Geo AES and MVS in my collection? They use the same exact Mame roms, the difference is the AES version uses a different Bios made for the home console that allows different difficulties and trainers while the MVS Bios gives you the arcade experience. I need to try it out ASAP.

Mine imported 44 out of 56 roms. Tried adding the other ones one by one and I get a pop up saying 0 roms were imported. No clue why it refuses to import them. I agree with Mameau. RocketLauncher and Hyperspin are musch easier to set up. You just drop the database into the folder, point to your roms and you're done. Hypersync than finds all the artwork and videos for you.

Any idea why Launchbox refuses to import 12 of my Model 2 games? No matter what I do, it just won't import the zip files. These games work fine under Hyperspin btw. it's not a case of bad roms.
-
Yeah, those are the roots of my frustrations. Same problem with Sega Naomi. I have a few more systems to try out. By the way, I see you fixed the vertical videos. Nice! Much better now.

When I import me Sega Model 2 and Sega Model 3 games, all I get is a mess. I'm scraping them as Arcade. Sega model 2 finds 20 out of 44 files but doesn't not name them properly. I only get some artwork.. Also, I have 56 games but it only imports 44 of them no matter how many times I try to import the others. Sega model 3 finds 19 out of 41 games. It renames of a few which is better than nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

So when I remove a game, it's media and metadata do not get deleted as well?
-
Aren't these just coming from the Hyperspin downloads section?
-
I had previously imported all my Mame games. This weekend I finally updated all my mame roms to the latest version (0.176). Now how do I import version 0.176 into Launchbox? I don't want to import everything again. it took forever and I added a lot of metadata to my current setup that I don't want to loose.
-
I know that if I import new roms that have multi discs, Launchbox only shows one of them now, but I do I do this for systems that have already been imported? I can do it manually one by one but I'm trying to avoid that and I don't really want to have to re-import everything again.

Thanks but most of those overlays were done by Nosh over at the Rocketlauncher forums over a year ago. I know, because I also have them, although he created a lot more overlays than what's in that pack. Here is his thread: http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?1026-New-Bezels-and-Fade-media-in-the-works More here with screenshots: http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?455-Retroarch-bezel-Overlays And his download page: https://github.com/nosh01/retroarch-overlays

Thanks CriticalCid. What about American Laser Games? They use the Daphne Singe emu as well but they are shooting games. There are only 7 of them. I guess I'll add them under Daphne as well. So Daphne, Daphne Singe and American Laser games will all go under the same category. I have finalized and cleaned up a flyer set to be used as cover art. I'll start adding the Daphne system db over the course of this week.
-
What are the guidelines for Daphne? Should I include Daphne Singe games into this system as well? I'll be away for a few days but when I come back next week I'll start adding all games and metadata to the Daphne db. Hopefully by then they will have Taito in the DB as well. That will take care of these 2 systems. More to come!

You can't just delete files because you will break some games. Some mame games will use files from another game or a clone. The only way is to isolate the games you want and try them out one by one and see if they work or if they require additional files. This is fine for your current set but it means you can't update your set in the future or you will have to do it all over again.

Any solution for this yet? I have a few systems that I can't seem able to find a good way to import, this one being one of them.
