  1. I debated posting this, as I don't want it to come off as a criticism to Launchbox, it's not. Merely my tale of woe. Like others, I'm particular in the way I do things. I have and do use other frontends and programs, and so I tend to keep my media and roms all after the same name. Until the past few days, I never had a problem with Launchbox and the way it treats media. So, I decided to try to clear up some image folders. Launchbox, as you know, creates folders for MANY image types, per platform. I actually don't use many image types - generally a box, cart, logo, gameplay snap and video. In trying to clean up some of the extra folders, I came upon the brilliant idea to point any media folder I wasn't using to a JUNK folder in the program's directory. This worked a treat. No more extra directories under my platform images. What I wasn't expecting, because I had never personally witnessed this behavior... was Launchbox deciding to go and rename every single media file I have to it's specifications. Thousands of files, all renamed, all made useless for anything except Launchbox. I understand that it will do it, after reading other posts on the forum - but there was no warning in the program that this would happen - or why. I don't understand why it would touch a folder of files that it had been using with no issues before, and rename everything. Anyway, I've spent the past few days trying to use emumovies/fuzzy rename to repair it, but I still have SO much to go through... Anyway - still love the program, still intend to use it, just a lesson to learn!
  2. Thank you very much for your work on this, it's great!
  3. I thought so, I must have been doing something wrong then. Thanks!
  4. I'm probably missing something easily fixed, but I'm unsure how, or if, it can be done. Can you have different Platform Clear Logo's, and different Platform videos for different themes? Say, for example, if I want to switch between Unified Redux and Refried, without moving and deleting files, is there a directory structure to use to have both sets of videos/logos? Thanks!
  5. I for one, thank you for these! Very nice, and I appreciate your hard work with them!
  6. Wow, thanks! I really appreciate it
  7. Understood, if it can't be, it can't be. Thanks for your time with this
  8. Jason, I don't know if it's an issue, or can be remedied.. the pointers don't seem to be working except on the lowest level They show up on the bottom nested level, but not anything higher. I could swear this worked before, but maybe it was a different theme? I have included pics. Ignore the black backgrounds, the wheel faded out too quickly Platform Category Platform Wheel Platform Playlist Gamelist Wheel - Pointer shows up.
  9. I see, thanks I learned something too heh
  10. Ok. So essentially, what you want is the game view to look the same as the platform view? Which is not possible, as Neil said, since the platform view is a full screen video.. you would need to have to make a full set of game views to do what you want.
  11. Hope I can help, I use this theme myself. This theme only has the first 2 views themed. Platform View 1 is a full screen video with scrolling text (details about the platform scroll along the bottom) Platform View 2 is full screen video without this scrolling text. The other 3 views aren't themed, so don't look right. What exactly are you trying to do? I apologize, but I don't understand from your wording what you're attempting to do.
  12. Dumb question perhaps, but I'm curious why this theme has so many different folders, example - Unified Refried - Arcade, instead of just one folder, Unified Refried. Is there something in the theme that requires each platform to be seperate? Thank you for all your hard work!
  13. This looks great! Will there be (or is there) a pack of clear platform logos that match the logos on these screens?
  14. Can anyone recommend any startup videos that run longer than 1 minute? My bigbox takes up to a minute to load, so most videos run then black screen for 30 seconds or more. I currently have the Gamecube one that runs just over 1 minute. Thanks!
  15. Just checking again, is there any way to resolve this? Thanks!!
  16. I found the problem, though I'll be darned if I know what caused it. Everything worked launching roms through the emulator directly, and through Rocketlauncher. Only when using Launchbox/Bigbox was the issue occuring. Did some digging, and noticed it was happening randomly on every platform I had installed. Some games would launch, some wouldn't. Seems that random roms - and I do mean random - have had the use emulator unchecked. I have no clue how or why this happened. So I just used the bulk edit, and changed them all to use emulator, and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks to you both for the replies!
  17. I've come across a curious issue, that I'm not sure about. Some roms in Launchbox (and Bigbox) won't launch when clicking Play or selecting from the wheel.. Instead, they open up the 7z file manager, like it wants to extract, instead of play the Rom. I checked, and I do have the extract rom option checked under the emuiator. I've run across more than a couple this happens with, no rhyme or reason. I'm using the No-Intro romsets.. I can name 2 specific examples.. The Goonies II on NES, and Cosmic Chasm on Vectrex. The games launch normally from both Retroarch and Rocketlauncher. I've unzipped, and rezipped them - both as .7z and zip - same issue. I also just unzipped the goonies.nes file, and now I'm getting a "How do you want to open this file" window when I try to play it. Any clues what could be causing it? Thanks beforehand!
  18. I have a playlist set up with Genres, Fighting, Shmups, etc. I had the same issue. Under Launchbox/Themes/Unified/Images/Theme/Logo - I put my Fighting Games.png logo in here, and under Launchbox/Themes/Unified/Images/Theme/Background I put my Fighting Games.png background - and they showed up after I rebooted Bigbox - you may need to refresh the Platform wheel images though, and I noticed my logo is huge, not centered in the top I haven't figured how to resolve that yet..
  19. Has anyone created, or are there any plans to create, Platform Category themes in this style? Computers, Consoles, Handhelds, Playlists, etc?
  20. Very nice looking. Thank you!
  21. By chance have you created a playlist for Action and Adventure? Thank you for your work on these!
  22. Same process I used, but mine aren't showing.. must be something I didn't setup correctly somewhere. Thanks at least I know it's working for someone heh. This is what's showing in the Platforms.xml <PlatformCategory> <Name>Handhelds</Name> <Notes>In 1976, Mattel introduced the first handheld electronic game with the release of Auto Race. Later, several companies - including Coleco and Milton Bradley - made their own single-game, lightweight table-top or handheld electronic game devices. The oldest true handheld game console with interchangeable cartridges is the Milton Bradley Microvision in 1979. Nintendo is credited with popularizing the handheld console concept with the release of the Game Boy in 1989 and as of 2014 continues to dominate the handheld console market with their 3DS systems.</Notes> <VideoPath /> <LastPlatform>Atari Lynx</LastPlatform> </PlatformCategory>
  23. Faeran, I still use this theme, still love it, and wanted to ask if it was possible to change/add something? I have Platform Categories set up, Computer, Console, Handhelds, etc.. the only thing missing is that the Notes I put into Launchbox aren't transferring to the Notes/Detailed box under the theme video. Like it shows under the individual Platforms. Can this be fixed? Thanks very much!
