  1. Thanks everyone! Here is also a small demo of BigBox running. Using a modified Minimal-AO theme atm. Seems like I'm on it everyday constantly making adjustments. But every time I have some friends over they ask to play it. 32" LED 720p
  2. Hey everyone! This is my sit down arcade I got from http://www.recroommasters.com/ It's still a work in progress and I've actually had for almost 2 years. It pretty much sat in the basement in pieces until I finally started to put it all together late last year. Me finding LaunchBox got me motivated I like the quality of it but it is a bit overwhelming at first when trying to follow the directions and put it together, and all by myself. I opt'ed to do my own control panel, so all it came with was the top flat cover so I drilled the holes and routed the for joy sticks and trackball for the controls right into that. I'm using LED buttons but they are single colors only and not rgb. I do have LED Blinky running and plan to post a video of that here soon. I chose to not use the clear plexi glass that came with it for in front of the TV and rather ordered and had cut a tempered smoked glass. I also do not have the control panel bolted down how it came and used latches on the sides so that i can get under it if need be. I'm using a custom marquee up top and carbon fiber vinyl on the control panel. One thing to note is these seem to have been designed while LCD TV's where quite thick and the newer LED TV's are pretty thin, so keep that in mind. I didn't want my LED screen sitting deep in the cabinet so I built a platform about 2-3" thick to bring in out closer to the glass. I do have a 32" TV which they recommend but keep in mind you will have light coming in from the sides and or top and bottom because the back is completely open. To fix this I cut some 1/4" birch and painted it black to cover the back and it's on hinges so that I can still get back there if need be. Other then that all I added is 2 front USB ports and front speaker grilles. Future plans is I made a platform that can be bolted to the bottom to make this a stand up cabinet. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and the overall outcome to make it my own. Now on with the pics! Small Demo of BigBox running.
  3. Interesting, I did not know this. I thought I've tried to stream over the internet before on the free pass and couldn't get it to work.
  4. The portable part of plex is the Plex Media Player, so in that sense it's portable. There is also plex apps for your mobile phones. All your media is stored locally on your PC or network drive and map the drive to your PC (which I do). Once the server is created, then all your media is accessed through the app on your PC or mobile device through an app. You can then access all your media locally for free similar to kodi. Or you can pay for PLEX monthly, yearly or lifetime to access your media server over the internet and I believe share it. I just do the free version. I personally like PLEX better for local media. Like I said, it's arcade friendly and I just install the app on the devices I have to stream it. For example my samsung TV, and firestick all have the plex app installed and I can stream to those. I could create a small video of mine in action if you would like to see how I have it setup on my arcade.
  5. I've created a local Plex sever on my PC and mapped the drive to my network hard drive for all my music, tv shows and movies. Added a Plex platform in launchbox and it's working perfectly. Plex does all the scrapping and I've had no issues. Remapped all the plex keyboard shortcut keys and makes it all arcade friendly.
  6. Fixed with changing my mame version to .180 I was running .175 and oddly enough it was all working except for vertical games on pause. I did read the pop up window about not working with .170 - .175 I guess is there output issues with those versions? Either way, thanks for the help and glad I got it all working.
  7. Not me but this guy here on youtube has been helpful. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKQosbJTKWjhxNEYpIXSp4Q
  8. Thanks @lordmonkus ! That did the trick
  9. The reason I started using this over the retroarch core or even Nestopia, is because It seems FCEUX was the only only one I could get to work on flipping disk from Side A to Side B on some roms. The problem is with FCEUX, when I launch a game it's sometimes crashing LaunchBox and BigBox. Anyone else use FCEUX and have their launchbox settings I can compare to that has it working? Or know how to flip disks using retroarch or another emulator for the disk system? Playing Doki Doki Panic is easy to me flipping disks with FCEUX, but lost with getting to flip with any of the other emulators. Thanks!
  10. @arzoo Here's some info I have so far with what I tried. Here is my LEDBlinky Config I have. With those settings for example, Donkey Kong will speak the control "Jump" and "Start /Coin" on game start. When I pause nothing happens and the results in the MAMEOutputTest app is nothing, not a thing shows up. Changing nothing else and launching Mortal Kombat, I get all the controls spoke and "Start/Coin" on game start. But now when I hit pause, it's speaks the controls again and starts the Pause animation. Here's that result in the MAMEOutputTest app. If there's anything else I can provide let me know, thanks!
  11. @arzoo You happen to know what causes the voice not to work on some games and others it's fine? For example Donkey Kong, I have the Controls.ini below. When I go into the game she says "Donkey Kong" but I have it set up to say controls and pause animation when I hit pause and she says nothing and the pause animation don't trigger. Other games like all the Mortal Kombats. NARC, Black Tiger, Zoo Keeper to name a few works fine for example. It actually seems like all my vertical games have the issue no matter what I try. All 1941 series, all the donkey kong game, 10 yard fight. I know when It don't work when the Pause led animation don't fire off. Maybe a simple setting i dunno but thanks!
  12. I have a servo stik joystick and 7 button layout for my controls. I also have a trackball with 4 mouse buttons, then player 1 and player 2 have coin and start buttons. I have 3 admin buttons in the middle of the control panel, Escape, Pause and Tab. Escape - Exits emulators and works as the back button in BigBox. Pause - Pauses emulators and works as quick play to launch a game from BigBox. Tab - mostly to get into the Mame menu. I use a IPAC so I use some shifted keys. Hold down player one start is shift, so.. (shift) player 1 button 7 is "Enter" (shift) joystick player 2 up and down are volume up/down. (shift) joystick player 1 up is servo stik 8-way and down is servo stik 4-way. (these are for just in case i get stuck in a mode and need to quickly switch it) 2 front USB ports for controllers. I feel I have plenty of buttons, and for my setup anything more would look to cluttered to me. I also use a lot of AHK scripts for button configs but those are mostly in Windows and Steam games.
  13. I know this is old, and I love how this works. Thought I would add that I've change the script a little to convert the .webm to .mp4 for anyone having an issue playing .webm. Here's the script I use. for %%a in ("STEAMVIDEOPATH\*.*") do ffmpeg -ss 00:00:12.000 -i "%%a" -qscale 0 -t 60 "OUTPUTPATH\%%~na.mp4" Takes the first 12 seconds off the front where you see the 00:00:12.000 and -t 60 makes it 60 seconds long. Hope it helps.
  14. It's not just you, it's probably everyone. I also cannot login. Fails on LaunchBox or directly through the FTP.
  15. I can confirm making an ahk script compiled to exe works like a charm. Here again is that post: I also have a couple pics of the config settings and you have to do this for each 4-way game. There is way more 8-way games so I have the JoyTray app set to boot up in 8-way when the pc boots. Then with the script it goes 4-way and then 8-way when exiting with the Escape key. There seems to be around 200 roms that are 4-way or 2-way so looks like you have edit each one and add the compiled exe. Here's a link I found to show 4-way mame roms, maybe outdated I dunno but it's a start. I've done all the testing with the servo outside my cabinet, but once it's all in I can update with a video. Good luck! http://www.armchairarcade.com/neo/node/486
  16. Here's a video, not mine that a guy explains it some and talks about creating a bat file. And he also uses LaunchBox, so maybe he'll see this or ask him on youtube. I tried this method but it screws up my led blinky controls I have set, so the ahk to exe file works best for me.
  17. I also just bought a servo stik. I plan to convert an ahk to exe and run the exe in the additional apps "Automaticaly run before main application" section on each 4 way game i come to find in mame. Default will be 8-way and I will have it go back to 8-way when I exit a game. I use Escape to exit mame so here's what my ahk file would look like before compiled. run, G:\Program Files (x86)\JoyTray\joytray -servo joy4way ~Esc:: run, G:\Program Files (x86)\JoyTray\joytray -servo joy8way ExitApp
  18. That's odd. I'm also on 7.7 This is on windows 7 and has been working great for me. I'm not sure what else it could be if it works for some but not everyone.
  19. Here's what works for me for Demul. I also pasted the text on pastebin because sometimes the coding and spacing don't appear right on the forums here. http://pastebin.com/vyLAhTSP Run, nomousy.exe /hide $Esc::goto exiting exiting: { Run, nomousy.exe Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} } Doing it this way, make sure the nomousy.exe file is in the same directory as the BigBox.exe. Doing it this way you don't have to reference the entire path to the nomousy.exe. Also if you having issues with audio still playing in the background, look at this post.
  20. Awesome ! I hope that's the fix for everyone. Also as a side note, you can edit the Demul.ini file and change the WindowX and WindowY to what I have below and demul will launch clean with no demul window popping up. windowX = 9999 windowY = 9999
  21. I seem to have fixed the issue, at least for me. The only thing different I tried was in the edit emulator settings. On the emulator tab I just checked the box "Attempt to hide console window on startup/shutdown" Here's a snap of everything I have checked in that tab. I started and stopped probably 20 games and not a single audio issue. I went back in and unchecked that box and first game i fired up I got the audio issue again. So for me this seems to have fixed it. Let know if you've tried this or have the same boxes checked for you and give it a try.
  22. This is my cabinet -windows 7 64 bit older i7 socket 1366 6gb triple channel memory asus GeForce 670 4gb video card onboard audio card with updated drivers
  23. I use vlc mainly but tested it using wmp and get the same results. What's odd is I play dolphin blue a lot and it don't do it to much with that game, but I'll play metal slug 6 and the sound issue will happen every time.
  24. I'm not using nomousey and still have the same issue. To me it seems related to the way the Demul window pops up before launching a game to full screen. Almost like demul is tricking bigbox into thinking it's in focus when it's not yet. If that makes sense. Oddly enough when I launch a demul game from within LaunchBox, it seems like 9 out 10 times i just get a launchbox crash then demul starts. Completely different then the sound issues when launching through bigbox.
