  1. If you just want Space to actually send some other key, I think all you need to do is add this ahk line to your Launchbox emulator's ahk tab: Space::<your desired key> So, if I wanted Space to send the p key for example, I would put: Space::p
  2. I don't use LaunchBoxPCSX2.exe, but I imagine if you want to change something on mass for PS2 games, just do a find/replace all in the Sony Playstation 2.xml file
  3. did you ever try running LB in a brand new admin user account? i don't remember if you posted that you tried it or not.
  4. Well, it might be that easy, you never know. But I would just try the older version on your flash drive and try it to keep things simple at first. I think you had the same troubles with the small test flash drive install. So just change the exe on that as a test. Or install the older version over, it. I think installing over it is safer because other things change too sometimes like VLC and whatnot.
  5. ohh, try both, it's easy enough to try diff LB versions. if it only happens in 7.11, that really points to a LB bug. i wonder if the 7.11 .NET change had anything to do with it? I think Jason mentioned using the newer .NET in the next version, so you might try the Beta that is currently out now.
  6. so, does that mean if you roll back to an earlier LB version, you don't have any issue? edit: use the force Luke...think back to what changed just before you started having issues... “Through the Force, things you will see.” —Yoda
  7. if your desktop is a little dated, maybe now you have good reason to UPGRADE!!
  8. if it works maybe you should take your main PC out back and blow it up.
  9. Boy, what a tough problem. You've tried new and clean OS's of Win 8 and Win 10. You've tried more than one hard drive. You've tried running the same LB folder on another computer with no issues. You've tried with no anti virus and security software running. I assume you've already tried other LB versions than 7.11 already. I assume you can run games and emulators on their own without issue. Since you fix computers, I'm sure you have already made sure your bios and drivers are up to date and have run a RAM test. If you are sure you don't have anything unique installed or running on your main PC, I can't think of anything else but hardware, like maybe RAM. I hate to say hardware if you can use other applications on this computer for hours with no issues at all though. For your "soft crashes" with LB (where LB throws up a detailed message), those are surely LB bugs not handling exceptions. For you "hard crashes" where LB just flat out crashes and you only get a Windows message that it stopped working, those aren't necessarily LB bugs (but could be). I think most of us who have been using LB a while and have multiple computers, can say for sure we can run LB successfully on any new OS install and system we try.
  10. Another test that I think might be worth a shot is to create a brand new admin user account, login as that user, disable Windows Defender and any other security software, and try it with that new user.. Make sure you don't leave LB running in the original user account when trying this. if you are running Win 10 Creators, also disable all the gaming stuff like game bar and dvr.
  11. gotta get some sleep. i hope when i wake up, your nightmare will be over and everything will be running fine. i know this must be extremely frustrating. i'll check this thread tomorrow.
  12. can you clarify one thing. one post says your new small flash drive install does NOT crash on your laptop but another post says it does. can you confirm if it crashes on both systems?
  13. yes i know. i was trying to widdle down possible culprits on the simplest install, your flashdrive. so i meant clear that out, let build, and see if it happens again. edit: oh, so your small flash drive install does crash on two different systems, good, so you don't have a bad computer haha.
  14. i meant rebuild the cache on your new install where you only have a few games but hit some errors and crashes. at least it doesn't crash on your other system, so that helps narrow down some.
  15. try deleting everything inside your Images\Cache folder from file explorer (with LB closed) and let the cache build again and see if you get errors/crashes. edit: but don't do anything in LB until the cache is done rebuilding
  16. how about zip up that new LB folder and send it to me. I'd be willing to try it. Just tell me the steps you do to hit the errors and crashes. edit: don't send me your LB license though. maybe there's other sensitive data, so i don't know if that's a good idea anymore
  17. i think it's not OS, because you have got that on clean OS installs with different Windows versions I think you said. And you said you only have issue with LB and no other apps, so I'm doubting it's your hardware. I think it's either something you have running on top of your "clean" OS or something in your LB files. Do you have ANY indexing running? Anti virus? File Backup software? Anything else that touches your files? Can you take this small somewhat clean LB folder and try it on another PC?
  18. It sure seems like a LB bug to me. I would really hope @Jason Carr would see this because he would probably know just what's going on.
  19. Does this repeat doing the same thing and on the same exact game? Does it happen using the default theme?
  20. That's ok, maybe you already have all that stuff installed. So did LB crash yet with the clean setup?
  21. Before reinstalling, also make sure Windows Defender and any other anti virus is disabled too.
  22. you might want to install all visual c++ runtimes and then try the LB installer again. here is a very handy tool that you just run and it will get and install all the visual c++ runtimes. i've used it many times: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/visual_c_runtime_installer.html)
  23. Wait that shows LB tried to install DirectX. Any idea why it couldnt? That may be a problem if you are missing some direct x version that it needs. I don't know which DirectX version LB tries to install. Yeah for this test I didnt mean you need much space. Just run the app and maybe add one emulator and a few roms to exercise the app.
