  1. First of all i would recommend using MAME, mess and mame were merged into one program some years ago. As for the actual issue that is what the "associated platforms" tab we are discussing in your other thread is for, you can add as many platforms as you want to your mame emulator entry there, and each can have its own command line parameter, to load the actual core/bios that platform requires.
  2. If you think typing words with a keyboard on a PC is a insane thing to require, then i don't know what to tell you.
  3. You can literally type anything you like into the box with your keyboard.
  4. Ok, Launchbox is not telepathic, it needs to know what platform the emulator you are adding is going to be used for, it is simply asking that you specify that, in the tab which is on the same window as you are on one your receive that message. Simply click on the associated platform tab and add the platform there, in this case as it is WinUAE, so i assume it is Commodore Amiga or Commodore CD32, so add one or both of those to that list, and then simply click back to the previous tab. Now you have specified what platform Launchbox should load with this emulator you can finish out the add emulator wizard.
  5. Close Launchbox and head to Launchbox/Data and delete the "Queue.xml" file, restart Launchbox.
  6. Yes. Launchbox is the frontend and all the pretty, the emulators, are not made or maintained by us.
  7. OK this has been going on far long enough, you said you used Retroarch initially and it had issues with sound, you never mentioned the core you used, so that may be helpful info for others to know. You also said that it is supposed to work with Retroarch, but yours does not, due to sound issues correct? Well, there are all sorts of reasons for sound issues, often nothing to do with the actual rom. What we really need is instructions, (without the links) on how you made your rom, so that others here, who are really trying to help you can make their own. Its fine if its mario 3 on nes, everyone has that rom and can quickly test, this we cannot. Or maybe DM someone like @Headrush69 with the actual rom you are using, as they are knowledgeable and trying to help.
  8. It's on the retro achievement's end, API changes as you say, we need to wait to see what changes and how. Devs are aware.
  9. Well the game was never released in the US, the only region it was called the Genesis in, so its actually Megadrive images, but i get what you are saying, and thanks for them.
  10. Yeah the issue still persists, if you have the taskbar to autohide in Windows, Launchbox goes fullscreen and does not allow you to bring up the taskbar when hovering at the bottom of the screen. No other apps i use do this, it's almost as if Launchbox has gone exclusive fullscreen.
  11. You may be able to create a dummy file. Just create a new notepad file, set the name as the same as the CHD and change the file type from .txt to .zip and import that. I seem to remember this working for those golf games that are CHD only, but i'm remembering back several years at this point.
  12. Cheevos peeps have been talking about a new API for years, so if they just dropped it now, that would be interesting.
  13. Im sure the devs here will pick up on this though and investigate it, it's probably the first time they have heard of it though.
  14. how do you turn on Hardcore, in Retroarch? Its simply in the achievements section of the RA UI, i have always been a person who loves the save states, but i have recently changed that opinion, and i have hardcore mode on by default. It can be "paused" by heading to the menu whenever you like.
  15. Looks like they changed the terminology on the official. They have always had the "hardcore" achievements, you earn them by turning that mode on and it turns off save states. In my image above i believe the number in blue is my hardcore and the number in white is my softcore, but i could also of always assumed that wrongly.
  16. Just to add to that its also not advised to use content overrides when you have Launchbox unzipping games, as it unzips to a temp folder with a unique ID each time.
  17. The problem is you are using the mame importer, but do not have a mame romset. FBA is not mame, is it based off of it? yes, but its not the same game list, it is different, and game names can also be different. What i would do is use the standard rom importer, but you will have to likely rename a bunch of games on the final page of the wizard. At the end of the day the specific mame fullset importer, or the option to use mame metadata when adding other systems (like naomi, atomiswave, etc) is strictly for mame romsets only, they "may" work with other romsets but nothing is guaranteed when you step outside the scope of a feature, which is the case here.
  18. Retroarch has "content directory overrides" these days for such use case, it will save the changes you made to the games that are loaded from the same folder as the currently loaded game. So as long as you have separate megadrive/master system/game gear rom folders, which you should, then the content overrides is what you want.
  19. This is the Launchbox forums, which have nothing at all to do with emulation station, or raspberry pi's, Launchbox is a Windows only application. You would be much better off asking somewhere where the users actually use retropie, and that place is not these forums.
  20. This is a native Windows "feature" nothing you can do about it apart from spending money on a third party program, but even that isnt a guarantee, Windows will pause any window that does not have focus, so as soon as you click off Bigbox will pause.
  21. You might want to state a issue, as you dont really, you mention screenshot-gameplay but what about them, are you saying they failed to download, or you have another issue. The devil is in the details when reporting issues and expecting some help with them.
  22. Startup time is directly linked to the amount of games you have, and having auto populated playlists will add to this quite a lot too as the playlist is essentially created at launch, by scanning your files, and this takes time.
  23. Highly doubtful, how would we sell it, it wouldn't likely be allowed in the store, and you cant just download a setup file to USB and install those onto the XBOX. Gam13 is using a loophole that essentially allows them to add a repository as a app, and then programs are downloaded from within that app, i highly expect this loophole to be closed by Microsoft.
