@martinconroy, in theory its no more difficult to map a network drive in Linux than it is in Windows. Obviously the issue you are going to have is that Kodi is the GUI for Libreelec, so no proper easy GUI to play with. Im sure if you googled you could find a step by step to do so though, just ssh in and copy paste the commands from your windows pc. You may need to switch ssh on in the libreelec options, its on one of the welcome to libreelec startup screens when you first install but is off by default,( i always switch it on there and then) but is a toggle in the options.

Well i haven't built or own a cabinet so take this with a pinch of salt......You are correct in saying that most stuff is 4:3 in fact with a lot of mame games are even narrower than that. Most ps2 games are also 4:3 some offer a widescreen option in the options (god of war does for example) but most of those are not real widescreen as they just letterbox the image top and bottom to make it a 16:9 ratio image. You can with the ps2 emulator though "force" every game to be 16:9 even if they are not supposed to be by design, so you need to decide if that is something you want to do (not every game can be stretched and it causes emulation issues). My advice would be if you plan on playing actual PC games on this cab then get a 16:9, but if it is just for emulation then 4:3 would be best as 99% of games are that aspect ratio or less. Not forgetting of course as you said 4:3 is way cheaper. Hope that helps.

He is using Libreelec though and that works out of the box with samba shares, you just need to add source and either point it at your samba share if it shows automatically , or type in your ip/system name of the samba share and add it as a source. At least that is how i do it, i have a kodi addon folder on my windows pc that is shared on the network, i then pointed my libreelec to that folder so i can instal addons over the network.

Well there is two ways to go about that, you can add them individually to images/platforms/nameofplatform/banners and they will work with all themes but takes a long time to do one by one. Or if you are sticking with the futurestate theme you can drop them all into one folder there, Launchbox/Themes/futurestate/images/platforms/banner. Just drop them all in that one folder, of course as i said they need to be named correctly for launchbox to pick them up. Hope that helps.

All themes have several different views and although those two pics look like the same view they are probably different views (one supports videos one doesn't). You can cycle through the different views in the settings, or set change view to a controller button i have it on Y. That way i can just hit Y to cycle the views. Also there is a option to have different views for different platforms and you probably have that option switched on.

@flores9 I use a complete non merged set and a complete chd set. When importing i left region set to USA or north America (whichever one was default). I imported all clones (as launchbox should combine them into one entry) i skipped fruit machines, mechanical games and i think that was about it, it was a while ago now. Basically i tried to import as much as i could excluding fruit and mechanical games.
