Yeah it will absolutely be faster if they are on your ssd. Thats actually what i do, i have Launchbox, images and videos on my ssd and all my roms on a 5TB USB 3.0 HDD, works very well like that.
Yeah, as i said it will take a while. You only have to do it the once though, once its done ALL your clear logos should be cached in and you shouldn't have that issue anymore.
Also you can force cache all images in bigbox, just go to options/imagecache/ force populate all game wheel images. This will take a while but does what it says, caches all those images in.
Just wanted to pop in and say i ended up grabbing a darkwater set which work perfectly with mednafen/beetle in retroarch. So thanks for the help guys,i just grabbed the wrong set originally. Now i have got some serious sega rallying to be getting on with!! Thanks again.
Well these are a couple of songs from a band from my Hometown, (you will be amazed at how rare that is), i actually lived about 20 doors down from the lead singer, and he was 2 years above me at school. Anyway, on with the show.
And,
God im old, barely had a computer when i was at school, now all the kids want to do is code. I am being sarcastic its awesome, but god i wish i was twenty years younger.

Cant really tell you what time it depends where in the world you are. But it is a set time Monday and Wednesday.
@nadonate, these are really great, i assume they are 2560x1440 because that is the resolution of the monitor you are using?? How difficult would it be to produce a 1920x1080 version of these? Just wondering as that is the resolution most people use. As i said though these are great.
Noble goals, I know nothing about coding so cant help you there. However Jason is currently live streaming over here.
