  1. Thanks for the reply!! How does the scrape go when mixing the two CD types in one folder?
  2. I've just watched Brads video on setting up the TurboGrafx 16 & TurboGrafx CD, using retroarch and PCEjin but wondered what emulator is used for the SuperGrafx or Super CD format? Do all the roms go in with the TurboGrafx CD folder or are the Super CD games entered under the PC Engine platorm?
  3. Cool, thanks Brad for all the help!! It's most appreciated and has saved me no end of frustration
  4. These are the only options that appear for me
  5. I imported everything and I didn't get the option to use folder names and in a lot of cases the games have not imported correctly. As you can see from the picture there are duplicates and the following games in the picture are as follows from left to right Savage (1988), Gateway to the Savage Frontier (1991) (Correct import), A.G.E. (1991), Gateway (1992) I used the ms dos import tool and went ahead and went with what had been selected my default, and didn't as I said get the option to use folder names Here is the path for one of the games mentioned above that seems to have added itself correctly. I did it as you said. Into a individual folder/short name folder/ then files for game E:\eXoDOS\Gateway to the Savage Frontier (1991)\gatesf Any ideas why this would have happened?
  6. I've got both collections unzipped but have put the exodos collection in one folder and the 3winxo in another. Is it best to put all games in one folder and import or can I add one collection and then the next seperately? Do you search wiki or will the LB DB to the job?
  7. I just wanted to revive this thread to ask a question about Libraries and the files that come within that folder. I've been putting all my tables within the tables directory in the Future Pinball Directory. Some tables come with a Libraries folder and within there are some files which I assume the table in question needs to work. I saw that within the emulator root directory there is a Libraries folder so I've been putting them in there. Everything was fine with the first few tables but noticed that the forth table I added had files for the Libraries folder that we named exactly like files already present. I assume then that these will need to go somewhere else, Any ideas.. Do you perhaps extract the tables each to a seperate folder and put each individual Libraries folder in to the relevant folder, rather than in the root emulator Libraries folder?
  8. I must say that I also always liked Hyperspin and tried in vain to get it up and running. Then thanks to simply austin's video I discovered lauchbox. It was the ease of use that austin talked about, so I thought I'd give it a go. It was the best $50 I've ever spent!! In most cases you add your roms and emulator and you are done, which is awesome. You do however get certain systems that are a problem and require some time to be invested in them (Future Pinball YAWN). However with the wonderful community and brads videos it is a pleasurable experience to build up my system list, where as Hyperspin was not. Don't get me wrong, I love Hyperspin, but I've found a new home with Launchbox. Keep up the good work guys, it is most appreciated
  9. Thank you Lordmonkus for the tips, it's all imported now and no problems. one thing that confuses me and maybe others in configuring the controls, so many button options. I see you can do an overall config or individual configs. I use a 360 controller and would appreciate a little advice on the best setup. Will a overall config cut it or will some games be problematic I also remember a config file doing the rounds a while back where some rather nice guy had produced a config file for MAME for up to four 360 controllers and full tank stick config. I see mentions of it on various forums but it's a bit outdated and I think there are compatibility problems will the more recent mame versions. Im sure this is really easy to set up but in the input menu of mame I see sections for up down left and right but for the buttons I'm not so sure which ones or to be selected e.g. Triggers, shoulder buttons. Maybe someone has a config file they could share with me and instructions on if the mame.ini needs to be edited, or perhaps a quick tutorial for a Xbox 360 controller. I just being overly cautious and maybe I'm not seeing the obvious. Thanks guys
  10. I just wanted to check the latest methods of dealing with these two collections. I believe that the front end that originally Was used for the import was meagre and that now both collection are imported through the add dos games option? I also see there was talk in July this year of adding a 3winxo platform, Is this still a posssibility? Brad on these forums has kindly given me a few pointers on how to deal with dos game and his video is great, but I would like to separate the two collections... so, having not done dos game imports before can I import the collections and scan them through dosbox platform and make custom platform titles like when you add roms cheers
  11. Thank you lordmonkus, hopefully we have others who know about the CHD files. I dying to add MAME and might just go ahead and worry about the CHD files later. I see the are MAME packs that come with artwork/metadata but I'd imagine you'd have to rename a lot of stuff to incorporate it into Launchbox? I guess it such a huge import that there will be gaps and missing artwork regardless. Anyway enough waffle and thanks again
  12. I watched loads of Brads videos and they have been a tremendous help, as have many of the moderators on this forum. I love the community here But MAME seem such a huge import that I wanted to check a few things before I take the plunge... My first question is about CHD files.... Is there anywhere I can find a list of current roms that require them rather than putting all the CHD files in the mame folder? Is there perhaps a program that could help in this regard? I also see a mame importer program at the top of the forum, with no recent posts, iis it correct to assume that the import ability of Launchbox has surpassed the abilities of the standalone importer? The mame sets are constantly being updated, but is it correct that older sets like 0.177 will work with the latest version of MAME and that you don't necessarily have to updated straight away.. During the import do you just scan the zip files and omit the CHD files?

    HBMame

Just a quick question regarding adding and scraping metadata and images for HBMame... What is the best way to go about adding the home brew games? Adding the homebrew roms in with all the mame roms and scanning or creating a custom HBMame system and scanning as arcade?
  14. That sucks!! Fingers crossed all works out second time around. I'll start praying Really looking forward to seeing the video and Thank you for all the time you've put into it! It's one of my favorite system.
  15. Wow, missed that you had replied to this I see the command line you need to add for disk 2 in your picture but how would you deal with a 3 disk game like Awesome by psygnosis. What would you write?
  16. Cool, that makes it easier. Thank you I assume this needs to be placed in the emulators root folder and run from there?
  17. Awesome collection, Thanks for the work you put in.... My setup looks so much better now
  18. I obviously didn't watch close enough Thank you
  19. Fantastic! Just what I wanted, Thanks again for the help
  20. Just followed brads rather nice little tutorial for setting up the Sega Model 3 System, but I don't understand how I'm supposed to configure the controls for my Xbox controller. The read me says the following but I'm really not sure how to do what it's asking XBox 360 Controllers -------------------- For full XBox 360 controller support, the XInput system must be used on Windows ('-input-system=xinput'). Otherwise, the left and right trigger buttons cannot be mapped individually and force feedback will not work. Please read the section titled 'Input Systems', further below. I'm sure it's something to do with command prompts but I'm not sure how to do it?? A nudge in the right direction would be most appreciated
  21. I can't seem to locate platform wheel art for the Nintendo Famicom, I'm looking for the deafault images and not like the image below. Does anyone know where I can find it
  22. would you consider doing a video for Future Pinball
  23. I've got show clear logos in game details selected and all the various clear logos in the the following path D:\LaunchBox\Images\Nintendo Entertainment System\Clear Logo but still they show as text?? I think I have everything checked, and media refreshed, any ideas? Figured it out I was in the wrong section
  24. Thanks Brad, I'll try that in the morning.. 'while Ive got your attention, can I just say how great your videos are and I've accomplished more in the last few weeks than I ever did in Hyperspin thanks to the tutorials. Launch box/ Big Box is awesome
  25. I'm sure it something I've not selected but when I run Big Box I get nice system logos but when I select a system all the games are in white text. I can see the wheel art for each game in the clear logos folder but it's not displaying. What do I need checked to display these logos. Cheers
