  1. I'm not aware of a way to have Launchbox do this. There will be some list online though, and then you would be able to quickly pick out those games in LB and remove them. Personally I prefer to keep them, and just use a controller instead of a wheel & pedals.
  2. You have good woodworking skills! I wanted to make my own control panel but don't have the skills or tools
  3. Looks nice!
  4. No problem, point taken. I too had not seen this mentioned elsewhere, hence I had decided to mention it here. If it could go into the poll that would be great. I was just keen to try and describe my vision to others! From my point of view it would take Launchbox to another level and be an amazing addition to have more focus on the platforms with platform videos, images, manuals & related info being available in LB, rather than all the focus being on the games themselves.
  5. GreenGriffon - thank you for the link - I have made suggestions there also, though most of the discussion takes place on the forums and I therefore felt it warranted a mention.
  6. I too would like improvements to the image viewer. I understand that improvements to the game details pane are being considered, where it will be able to show all images associated with a game and not just the fan art and screenshots. I would suggest that either the game details pane and/or the image viewer should have some sort of method of showing the user at a glance which images are available and letting them select the one they want to see - rather than having to scroll through an arbitrary list, as one currently has to do in both the image viewer and the game details pane. The nesting feature is excellent and I’ve experienced no issues with it so far. It does however open up a great opportunity to leverage more info and metadata about the platform category, platform or playlist. I know that you can add “notes” to playlists and platform categories, and can also add some more details to the platforms - but this info is somewhat tucked away with the user having to “edit” to access it (unless you are in BigBox where the platform details can be shown). It would be great if in Launchbox, the user had the ability to display information, images and a platform video (or platform category or playlist video) when selecting the corresponding platform, platform category or playlist. For example, the user could select “Nintendo Entertainment System” under consoles and be presented with information, images and a video relating to the NES. This could for example be shown in the main window, with the games list(s) below the platform. Hope this description is clear!
  7. Yes, I am just now realising the significance of the regions' sub-folders in the image directories. Paying heed to this, it seems that things are indeed working better. Does LB scrape according to region? I have found that when I scrape a Japanese game, it can download both USA and Japanese art. Sorry for going off topic!
  8. Ah - so rather than delete the images for that game which relate to the other region, I need to have both in there and let Launchbox choose the right one automatically. What if I am adding images manually - how can I specify that an image is just for a certain region? Edit - just added the Japanese images to 10 Yard Fight (NES), alongside the US images. When refreshing the game in LB, it is showing the Japanese 3D box art for the "North America, Europe" version of the game! If I keep hitting the refresh button for that game, it seems to randomly choose whether to display the US or the Jap 3D box!
  9. Not sure if it's a bug - but I can't seem to separate out the box art for USA and Japanese versions of games. I edit the USA version with the right art, but that changes the Japanese version as well - and vice versa! I have my roms separated out (rather than combined); is it possible to achieve this?
  10. Well at least that explains the behaviour. Look forward to the ability to see all the game details & media. Also, some better way to view the files, rather than having to scroll right down, would be good!
  11. Still having the problem of certain media not showing in the game details pane. For example, many of my NES games have a front cart image, but they are not showing in the game details pane.
  12. These look good - but there needs to be an image category in Launchbox from front/rear artwork shown together.
  13. Thanks for looking into this Jason, and interesting to see what the issue is. In my mind, "platform categories" had been categories of platforms, and nothing more - the highest level of categorisation. Below that is platforms. In my scheme I had regions next - which are not categories of platform, hence I had not used the platform category for this. What else would I label "regions" as here? It's not a platform either. Just a playlist, really. I tried to test your theory - but how do I change a playlist to a platform category?
  14. Thanks Jason. Just PM'd you with my zipped data folder.
  15. @deliyuerek85 I’ve had the same issue.
  16. Hi @Jason Carr, yes the game count aren't displaying in some of the parent folders. If I understand you correctly, then the "regions" list (seen below) should show the total game count of all the sub-lists - but instead it shows "0": Also, wee question - if the exact same game/rom appears in 2 playlists (due to meeting their criteria), is it counted twice in the cumulative total specified next to the parent folders?
  17. I will check and let you know. Actual game count is an even better idea than item count. With all these different sorting options, it would be nice to be able to set the box size/view options independently for each category (or at least platform) too.
  18. @Jason Carr - I have not seen the aforementioned problem since (the platform categories showing zero on update to the latest beta). I notice that another forum user mentioned this problem as well, and the same fix worked for him (changing view to platforms then back to platform categories/restarting Launchbox). So hopefully all is well!
  19. Something I've noticed - regarding the platform selection window and the game counts. Game counts are great. However, with the new nested feature, a lot of the "parent" folders have a count of 0 - because there are no games in them. There might be some sub-folders however. I think it would be an improvement if the count in this scenario would show the number of "items" (this would include sub-folders), not just games. Makes mores sense to me and makes the number useful in this scenario.
  20. My aim is to have the different regions for a platform listed under the platform. I have imported all games for the platform without combining, so each ROM is listed separately. Making auto-playlists for region works. The root folder contains all the roms (including multiple versions for region) and the region folders just contain the roms for that region. See: The problem is, I don't want the duplication in the root folder, as I want the game counts to be accurate. I therefore tried combining games, and making sure the region field contained all the relevant regions. This works, but there is one problem - the same "version" of the game appears as the default under each region. For example, the North America version will be the default for North America, Japan and Europe. So my question is - how can I make it so that the correct version appears in each of the auto-populated playlists (whilst still being able to combine the games)?
  21. Just loaded up the new beta (8.2) for the first time. 2 of my platform categories (computers and consoles) just show 0. There used to be 5 or 6 platform in each before! Any advice? See pic: EDIT: switching around the view settings seems to have fixed it!
  22. Brilliant update Jason! This feature will take the organisational capabilities of Launchbox onto another level. Nice work. Sounds like the teething issues are being addressed pretty pronto too. Going to try it out as soon as the update has finished. Quick question - there's a lot of talk about nesting categories & platforms etc. Can it be used to group ROMs? For example, having USA and JAP under NES, for example?
  23. Thanks a lot. I think the photoy2k box isn't correct though. Keep em' coming!
  24. Further to my post above, the problem has currently disappeared. No idea why The only thing that I have done is an image cleanup. Whether that was related to it, I don't know. Glad the problem has gone away for now. Will let you know if any more developments. Thanks for the input
  25. My NAS is not a Windows PC - it is an actual NAS - Synology DS1812+. The files are accessible from my PC over the network (ethernet). It was my understanding that the standard Backblaze would not cover this and that I would have to go the uber-expensive business route as described above. Delighted to be corrected if I am wrong!
