Just posting a video progress update. Still a lot of work to do, but the foundation for the first view is mostly complete, barring coding tweaks and replacing some placeholder graphics. Still a long way to go. -
Does anyone know if x:Load or x:DeferLoadStrategy can be used? or a way that would allow you to delay/defer loading certain elements after a game is selected?

Always something on the horizon. There's a bunch being worked on. As well as revisions of older ones. And 1 or 2 other projects as well.

Hi @Replay. There are multiple platform views. You will need to go into bigbox settings and assign a button to switch views. Then you can cycle through the different platform views using that button.

There's just a number of tweaks that each one could probably use. It's more just polishing them up with things I've learned since I've started.

Thanks @ALIE. I'll be going back through all my Coverbox themes at some point and implementing this splash page (and a few other things) to all of them. It does seem like Sega is going well. Sony may need some love soon enough.

Hi @broskiplays. Here is what you need to do: You have to go into the BigBox options. Go into Views and make sure "Remember separate view for each platform" is checked off. Go into Keyboard Mappings or Controller Buttons, and map a key to "Switch Theme" Then go into your choice of platform (like the Sega Genesis), click your "Switch Theme" key and choose which theme you would like.

Thanks @Shinryu. It's always good to have more variety. Use both. I switch them up all the time. Here's an idea: auto theme switcher, which can randomize themes per platform, or change them on a schedule. That would make things interesting. -
Hi @alnyden. This is unfortunately true. The menu won't come back while in the game details/options page. I would need to release a version where the menu never goes away, and the box/cart images never appear. I'm thinking of releasing that version for people that use the game details page.

Sounds like you need to set a different Image Type in LaunchBox for GameCube games. Make sure the image type is set to what you would like to see in BigBox. -
So if my understanding is correct. This would allow a background video being played. Something like this?

That's good to hear. Try it out. I've also managed to solve the sound issue. Let me know how it goes. CoverBox - Master System - 43.zip As far as others go. They will be much harder to convert to a 4:3 view. Would have to make a number of sacrifices to make some of them work. I would have to think really hard about each one individually.
