It should work fine with an AHK. I have no issues closing it. You can probably try changing the AHK to below. Alt+F4 closes Pinball FX3.exe correctly. Escape when in Pinball FX3 usually takes you to the menu which is what you are seeing.

This is why we need OR descriptors for auto playlists. then you could have 3 tags, Non VR, VR optional, VR required. then you could make an auto playlist with the rules "contains, Non VR OR VR optional" and "VR optional OR VR required". But as it stands now, auto playlist functionality is pretty neutered until we get some real query logic.
Neutered is probably a bit harsh since it works fine for a lot of standard playlist building. Sure power users could use more options and Jason could already have this on his table to tackle. Not all things can be built at once when it is just one man developing.

Huh. Guess I'm a little disappointed. What I really need is a way to run a script on start of game and another on exit of game...and what would be even more enormously helpful, would be the ability to feed the name of the game rom to these as a parameter. Just wishful thinking?
Yes, for now you would have to do it per game as an additional application. Unfortunately some things are still to be developed. It is only a one man show developing Launchbox.

I use Ultimarc WinIPac and Ultrasticks. I have profiles for BigBox, and a separate profile for vanilla MAME, and often for specific games.
When I startup BB, I have an AHK script that loads the stick and cp profiles for BB then launches BB. This works.
I put a script in the "Running" script window for MAME that loads my vanilla MAME stick and cp profiles. This works.
I put a script in the "Exit" script window for MAME that reloads my BB profiles. My hope was that this would run when I exit a game. This does not work.
That's basically where I am at the moment.
So on exit you are looking to have that loaded profile close and then reload the profile specific for moving in BigBox exit correct?
This is not working likely the Exit AHK tab in the edit emulator is for the exit hook command (closing an emulator/game) when using the exit option in the Pause Menu. I may not be able to run AHK at exit to close out a profile. I am not sure how that would be done as I do not have experience using Ultimarc and loading specific profiles.

I'm new with LB/BB. In the emulator configuration, there are two tabs. One is for Running AHK script and another is for Exiting AHK script. I was assuming the first was executed when the emulator is started, and the second is executed when the emulator exists. Since it doesn't appear to be working that way for me, I was wondering if someone could explain how it really works (especially the Exit script). Thanks!
The running script is where you would put an AHK to exit an emulator if needed. The Exiting AHK, I believe, is for the Pause Menu exit item.
What emulator are you trying to use an AHK on? Also, how are you trying to get it to exit? (Post the script you are using).

Yes. The file name of the clear logo for the system must match how you have the system named in Launchbox. Rename the file and then refresh the image cache.

Thank you for getting back to me.. It still did not work. I refresh all images and I still do not get clear logos for certain systems.
So you are just missing images for some systems, not all correct?
If so, do you have images downloaded for those systems in their correct folders and named exactly as the system is named in your set-up?

Anytime.

OK I found it, to be more specific it is in
Tools>Options>legacy>Images>sreenshot Priorites.
Isn't there any way to do this in BigBox?
Cheers
What you do there affects BigBox as well as LB is the base driver for BigBox.

I'm on Windows 10. I will check what core I am using and what version of Retroarch. To find the core, I just start the game, access the Retroarch start menu then it will show me? I can't remember which one I picked but I'll check when I get home. Thank you.
Yes. Or in Launchbox go to Manage emulators and choose Retroarch to edit. In the Associated Platforms tab it will list what you chose next to the NES and SNES listings.

Jason said on the stream today (he's still streaming btw) that this is a current feature. He said it's a plug-in and also there's a way to press a button to "spin the wheel" and it will land on a game. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Here is the plugin.
In BigBox you can set a key/button for Spin Wheel While Pressed. It is located in the Controller Buttons as well as Keyboard Mappings Options. Set the map and then when you press that button or key it will spin until you let go then stop randomly on a game.

Is there a way to choose between the title image and screenshot . Either in bigbox or launchbox, the title screen is the first picture dispayed, and I would rather have de snap one?
How can I fix this?
In Launchbox go to Tools, Option and look in Image priorities for Screenshot make GamePlay be the first one that shows. You can move the priorities up or down.

Here is a thread on the issue. In the thread Jason did say he has put this on his list to look into. The post was just under a month ago and I do not think I have seen any release notes updating this so it is likely Jason will get to it in time.
-
That is the old way.
Now all you need to do is in the video folder is create a folder called "Startup" an drop any videos in there. They do not need to be named anything specific either. BigBox will choose a random one each startup.

What version of Retorarch are you on and what core are you using for SNES? Pause has worked well for many users with Retroarch so it might just be an odd setting or something. Also just for clarity are you on Win7 or Win10?

Glad you are sorted.

Thanks it is totally an error!!! good to know.
I would email support then and explain the situation. If valid they would be able to confirm your purchase. Unfortunately this license has been reported as being shared/pirated.
-
@Artieag Unfortunately this means the license you are using is reported to be a pirated license. If you feel this is an error please email support@unbrokensoftware.com
If it is not an error we invite to delete the license.xml and continue to use a free version or support the developer by purchasing a valid license.

Not without pretty much a full recode of that particular theme.

I have my default images set up and they display fine as long as the game has NO other images already set to it. Which is fine except for let's say you have box art but you dont have cart art. It wont pick up the default cart art if you have a specific box art assigned to the game.
Not sure if this is a bug or not but I just thought I'd post it here just in case.
If it's not a bug, is there a way to have Launchbox blanket any missing fields with default images? Or will having any images assigned to a game disqualify it from the default images by design?
Seems to work fine. Just tested by setting Default 3D Box and 3D Cart for SNES and removing the images from their respective folders. When I change change the view in Launchbox to display either the 3D Box or the 3D Cart. A default image will not show if you have more than one image priority set in your settings and images exist for those priorities.

Just wondering how people have the bigbox controls assigned Im kinda lost where to start as there is so many different controls lol any advice appreciated
What specifically do you mean? Are you talking about for moving around in BigBox or in emulators?
In BigBox it is pretty simple just map the controls on the Tankstick that you want to the commands in BigBox under the keyboard setting since the Tankstick works as a keyboard. Or if you have the updated board in the Tankstick that allows you to swtich between d-input and x-input, if you are using either of those options set the controls in the game controller options.
For moving around in emulators (playing games) those get set directly in the emulator.

@JoeViking245 Works well with a random miss, but I think it is just a timing tweak depending if I have things in the background running or not that delays the exe opening sometimes. Easy enough to change the wait time. Big thanks for this.

Thanks. I've seen success by placing the playlists under the "Platform Category" area, but not within the Platforms themselves. In other words...
I see the playlists when I select the show Platform Categories in Big Box: Platform Category (Consoles)->Platform (Nintendo Entertainment System)->Playlist (Baseball Collection)->Games (Baseball Games)
However, I have been unable to see the playlists when I select the show Platforms in Big Box: Platform (Nintendo Entertainment System)->Games (all games)
What would be better still, is there a way to create a Platform called "Collections" where I can place all of the playlists? Or is the only option to make a Platform Category called Collections and place them there? Just trying to keep the amount of levels I have to go through to get to an individual game down to a minimum.
Thanks again.
You can create a Category and place them in it. That is what I did, created a Category called Playlists and set all playlists to show under there. You cannot make a Platform called "Collections" and place them in it. As platforms will only show up if you import a game into it.
