  3. You are missing a lot of the info mame needs. Open a cmd prompt in the mame folder and make sure your controllers are on. In the cmd prompt just type mame -v and press enter, this will list all devices mame can see and use, find your controller(s) and it will give you the devicemap name you need to use. eg. here you can see my Dual Sense mame sees and can use so my map device would be <mapdevice device="DualSense Wireless Controller product_0ce6054c-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 instance_3ce5b550-d1ce-11ef-8001-444553540000" controller="JOYCODE_5" /> (Change the last part to what you are applying it for (GUNCODE/JOYCODE/KEYBOARDCODE and so on) if you look at the light gun 1 in my pic, you can use <mapdevice device>"VID_046D&PID_C539&MI_01&Col01#9&3433e605&0&0000#{378de44c-56ef-11d1-bc8c-00a0c91405dd}" controller=GUNCODE 2" /> and this would also work Hope this helps. As an addition, not every device will have a VID/PID listed from mame, but you could also use them as well, goto Device mananger, find you device and right click for properties and goto either Details, and select Hardware IDs or goto Events and check the information widow (Details can be right click copied, Event can be highlighted and Copied)....

They are not equal versions of mame, one is built explicitly for your CRT needs, one is stock mame, so im trying to understand what your actually asking, as having a tearing issue is not a fault of mame, using the wrong version of mame for your environment will not give you an answer other than what you already have.
  5. Groovymame is built for CRT's, if this is the version you require then i suggest downloading groovymame no nag. My builds are always stock versions of mame, there are no changes other than removal of nag screens. As @JoeViking245 mentioned the version you are using is also 4 years out of date.

    I have to ask why you are using mame thats 18 years old, and as far as i know LB wont install that set for you with the full set importer due to its age.

Some have replied to you with the solution, if you are still seeing this same 'Press any Key' screen then you need to have skip_gameinfo either in the LaunchBox Launch options for mame or manually set the "skip_gameinfo 1" in the mame.ini file, that is an internal command for mame itself to directly skip the Press any Key screen, this no-nag does not touch that screen or its functions. If you scroll back a few posts here you will see what this no-nag actually does.
  8. The no-nag i release does not add any script to Launchbox, like you have shown above, its purely just a replaceable exe for mame. The no nag works perfectly fine, and does what it is supposed to do, if you read through the comments here it will tell you what this no nag actually does and doesn't do.

Don't forget you can also use Vertical and Horizontal folders within the system folder in RL, so you had a fallback/main for Vert/Horizontal games, and RL would use the ratio/screen size to determine what was to be used, also the ability to use on the fly changing of the "default" bezel as long as you had multiple ini/png's and the file name matched (i used this function a lot)

Unfortunately this wont happen, you are the first person to ask for this since i started doing the no nags from mame 0.218, nearly 4 years ago. as mame themselves only release the 64bit version compiled now, the demand for it is very very low. My suggestion is to compile it yourself making sure not to use the 'PTR64=1' switch . I have left instructions on how to compile this no nag several times on this forum and i also believe in this thread, its not hard to do Sorry i can not offer any more than that.
    As always @JoeViking245 releases another great addition to LB. Works perfectly fine, and real easy to setup. RL no more.....

  16. Also this is one of the biggest problems using a hacked together core for mame, its not an official core, mame devs have often called out retroarch, and as such will never support it. Retroarch left in mames own control system, and it will constantly fight with retroarch's control system. Best advice is please stop using retroarch for mame. Original mame is still the best emu, regardless of any retroarch cores that have have been added.
  17. Retroarch mame are hacked cores forced to work in RA, hence all the different versions. mames own devs despise Retroarch and what they have done and will never support it. RA Mame has conflicts with controllers is one of the biggest issues as Mame fwill fight with RA's own control implementation. Please heed the advice, you get a far better mame experiance using the official stand-alone version than unofficial hacks....

It still doesn't make the coffee though, really thought you may have figured that out by now But seriously, i love this, finally got rid of RocketLauncher, stand alone emus will always be better than retroarch, I've not had any real issues other than ones that were operator error, in other words couldnt read simple instructions. But yes it works does a lot more than the initial idea, for anyone using stand alone emus and want bezels, this is a no brainer.
  21. Short answer is no, I wouldn't use it or supply it, as using a modified version of mame for debugging is such a bad idea, if you encounter issues mame dev will not help at all, they will reject it for using a modified mame.
