Not to sure if it's actually needed or not. I'm sure it will work without admin one way or the the other. Just was a minor issue that I ran into after I wrote that so figured I'll add it on. To me it doesn't really seem why it would be needed. I'll play around some more tonight. That really wasn't my point of the guide though lol.

Hey everyone! I just figured out an extremely easy way to launch Pinball Arcade game directly to the table that I have not seen anywhere else on the forums. Most posts refer to the old camera mod thing that never really worked for me and was kind of an annoying work around so I found another one that is much simpler, to the point and just works. I figured that I would make this into a bit of a Pinball Arcade guide to help out noobs as well. So here I go. 1) Download the launcher attached to this post and extract it into the Pinball Arcade install directory. Quick disclaimer: I did not create that launcher but the license in the file states that the auther released it as public domain, so it should be good to go. After all, the place that I obtained it from would probably against rules anyway . I did scan it and it is completely safe. Your Pinball Arcade directory really depends on how you installed it. Usually its in Program Files. Right click PinballArcadeLoader.exe, select properties and select the run as administrator box. Click ok to close it. 2) Download the ROMS file from this post, extract to any directory and import to LaunchBox like usual. These are not actual ROM files but just empty files with the correct names. Basically, just renamed txt files. I'm just sharing the hard part so nobody else has to. I personally just extracted the folder into the Pinball Arcade install folder as well to make it simple. 3) Add a new emulator and fill it out exactly as the picture below. Make sure to select the launcher as the emulator and type out the path again with " in the Default command line parameters as well as selecting the right boxes. Make sure the sample command box looks exactly like the picture (obviously with different paths). Also make sure to put Pinball Arcade under Associated platforms and check the box for default like normal. 4) Start playing the tables! If everything was done right, it now simply launches directly to the table with no other app running in the system tray or other garbage. To finish off just search the downloads section for the correct media although it may have to be renamed. Hope this helps some other people. Edit: Because of the access required from the launcher it seems like LaunchBox may need to be started as administrator to start properly. Let me know if anyone can get it running without it. I'm still kind of playing around with it. Pinball_Arcade_Loader_v1.4.7z Pinball Arcade Roms.rar

It looks to me like the emulator just didnt go fullscreen. LaunchBox only launches the emulator, doesnt make it fullscreen. Just do a search on the forums for the correct command line argument for that emulator to make it go fullscreen. There a whole list somewhere on here. Some emus also have an option to make it fullscreen on launch. Never really played around with Snes9x stand alone since I use RetroArch for SNES.

Platform category (consoles) within my "platforms" wheel in big box
Retro_Rage replied to floodie's topic in Noobs
I could be wrong but I dont think this exact way would be possible considering how LaunchBox handles the different lists. If you switch to Platform Categories in LaunchBox though, You can just leave whatever platforms that you want in the root. Anything you do in LaunchBox will show up in BigBox. Just setup the platform category section as you would like and switch BigBox to always show the Platform Category view. If you are talking about only the video, then you can just navigate to your Launchbox/Videos folder and move around the videos anyway you like. The platform videos are in a folder inside that folder called platforms. -
I never have really scene anything like this but its a pretty good idea. I have scene an addon for Kodi that runs in Windows and allows you to do pretty much what you said in Kodi, ie run when windows starts, kills windows explorer etc. Just search the Kodi forums for it. A good alternative would be just to use the kodi plugin to launch LaunchBox from the main kodi menu. You can also use Kodi plugins like Advanced Launcher to pretty much launch anything else from the Kodi home screen such as other frontends. I assume it might be somehow possible to even use it to somehow kill Kodi and somehow switch back to the Windows desktop from Kodi. This really isnt a bad idea and might try to setup something like this myself lol Also just to add if you want an easy click screen like you described, I would take a look at the Kodi Titan skin.

This is kind of an old topic, but I do have XEGS working perfectly in Retroarch using the Atari800 core. You need to first make sure the core is setup properly first, check out here https://docs.libretro.com/library/atari800/ then just select XEGS from the retroarch core settings menu. Once you do, just save the setting over ride for content directory so its only saves for the XEGS games and not 5200 etc.

Thanks. Yea I just realized that it wasn't caused by the beta, just seemed to ironically start about the same time that I updated so quickly blamed that lol. When I downgraded to stable, the issues still persist. I think at this point Ill just let it run on updating overnight and see if it eventually finishes. I know that I do not have any internet issues as everything else seems to be working great. I really hope it does as I have hundreds of systems emulated now and really don't want to hose my hole setup. Do you have any suggestions as to anything that could prevent it from updating the games db?
-
So I appear to be having some pretty big issues since updating to the latest beta. Basically nothing seems to want to save. When I first start importing items it gets stuck on updating from games db. Had it running for a few hours yesterday, never passed that part. Actually had to force close LB to exit it. Among playing around a bit, I tried to update the metadata from the game ui, it got stuck at the end but still exited it and seemed to update. Now when I import anything, it gets stuck on saving and never passes it. I also then noticed that nothing seems to save to the db. I rearranged a bunch of categories, changed a few games etc. but nothing saved. Once I restart it just looks exactly the same as before I updated LB. The logs and everything appear to be fine. Since obviously these are pretty big issues I decided to just go back to stable until the next beta. Hopefully once I go back it is back to normal and was caused by the beta and not something else. Just wanted to point out the issues here first.

Wow, I have to say that I went through tons of themes and because of the customization this one clearly takes the cake. It is now my default theme. Did make a few small tweaks that I just thought that I would share. I have had all my "device" images added as banner images so I simply changed platformwheel3FiltersView.xaml to show it. Just scroll all the way to the bottom and look for <!-- Device Image --> Then look for the line <Image Name="CustomBannerIMG" and I changed the source= to {Binding Path=ActivePlatform.BannerImagePath} I also just changed the yellow text (just don't like yellow at all) to light blue (just search for yellow in any view and change it to lightblue or whatever color you want) Those as well as just changing the wallpaper made this into my perfect theme and is now my default. Btw, somebody mentioned adding the weather, dont do that. There is a plugin for it but I heard it adds a major lag to theme. Keep up the great work!

I just wanted to share this quick tip which I found kind of essential, I haven't found it mentioned anywhere else on the LaunchBox forums... Anyone using RocketLauncher, replace the content of the LaunchBox plugin file under the RocketLauncher directory /plugins with the most recent one from this thread... http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?4961-Launchbox-plugin-not-pulling-media-correctly&goto=newpost This will make RocketLauncher use media with the -01 appended to the end which LaunchBox scrapes by default. The only issue of course like mentioned in that thread is that it doesn't scrape the localized folders (ie Japan, UK, Germany etc). It is very easy though just to move all content in those directories into the main one and LB will just use it normally anyway. I really only do it just for clear logos so that they display beautifully on my fade screen. Just hope this helps someone.

Silver Ring Clear Logos - Rare Systems View File For my setup I have been using the silver ring clear logo set that was created by @viking, Probably the best logo pack there is. As detailed at as the pack is, I have a few custom and very rare systems that didn't have logos. So I made them. The full credit for the logos and the template are @viking and I hope it is ok to use them. You can see all the systems that are included in the screenshots. Once again, none of these are included in his pack and have not found any of these systems with logos already made. Custom Systems - All the rare systems that I have included And a few goodies... Arcade logos - These are a mainly arcade boards for those who perhaps like to split some systems off from MAME or who download arcade packs individually. Magazine Logos - I have these full catalogue of magazines in my collections. The magazines are in CBZ and I use Cdisplay through rocketlauncher to launch them beautifully. They are freely and legally distributed at places on the web, Google is your friend. Hacks Logos - These are the exact logos that @viking made but I added a hacks logo on them for those who like to have a seperate category for hacked games. If there are any issues posting these I will gladly remove them. The original PSD that these are based on can be downloaded from the original thread here but I have included my slightly modified PSD in certain packs that are changed. For example the hacks pack so that you can make any logo a "hacks" logo and the magazines pack has a custom background. As I add more systems to my collection, I will update this pack accordingly. Of course nothing will be duplicated if it was already created elsewhere or in the original pack. Hope someone can use them! Submitter Retro_Rage Submitted 03/12/2020 Category Platform Clear Logos

Custom PC Banners View File Hey Guys! Been a long time "leacher" as I have been building my collection but figured since by collection is now filling up, Im going to start contributing to the community! For my platform banners in my setup, I have been using the device logos with the white background that can be found everywhere (used on Wikipedia and come up first on google for nearly every system). The only things that are missing are the banners for the categories that I have that dont have actual devices, mostly the "PC" category. I created these to fill the gap and I think they fit in pretty good. Ill update the pack if I create some more. You can just see the screenshot for the included platforms. I have also included the PSD if anyone wants to make there own, basically just change the system logo. I hope someone can find them useful! I have many more things to come. Hey everyone! This is the first time i'm sharing something so go easy on me Although I have been building my collection for a while and hopefully have many more things coming. I just threw together these platform logos for my own personal use and figured someone else might like them as well. They are based on a template that I found on picnic.com. Eventually I would like to make minor changes like change the blue with wallpaper like images for the corresponding image, If I decide to use them. I also included my PDN template (paint.net) if anyone wants to make any changes or anything. Enjoy! -

This is way cool and almost seems like it can be something that should be included in LB by default! The only thing that is really need to make it useful is some kind of batch updating. It is really pointless only updating one game at a time when you have a collection of 1000s. Once you are able to update tons of games in one go this plugin would be probably the most useful plugin available!

Well I am still in the process of adding a lot of things but here are my stats. According to Launchbox im up to 25551 games in 192 systems. This isnt including around 1000 more in another 13 systems that I have on my hdd but havent added yet. I also had removed a few thousand more of the bigger and most recent systems because I began to run out of space.
