Please review this thread if you are having trouble finding your Steam Custom URL. It's important to note that your Steam Custom URL has nothing to do with your Steam login ID, and may not be the same as your Profile Name. We can all thank Valve for making it so confusing. ;)

Your Steam Custom URL is available to read or set from inside of Steam. So first, open Steam, and then click your profile name at the top. Then, click the "Edit my Profile" link on the right. Your Custom URL is available on this page.

If you need further help, please feel free to comment below.

Just curious: when I access my Steam URL, it shows "https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/" and then my numeric profile id, vs. the "https://steamcommunity.com/id" shown in the precursor to the data field on the Launchbox import wizard screen.  Definitely a newbie to this, and would really like for this to work, because this seems AWESOME, and you have done a really great job creating such a beautiful interface.

Open Steam. In the top right where it says your profile name. Press "View my profile page". Your page will load. Right click on the background and select "Copy Page Url" from the context menu that opens up. Then paste the link into a browser or notepad and you should see the link with the id in it.

hello people  I been trying to import my steam games into launchbox for all most 2 weeks now I am to the point of

giving up

this  is the setting I have for steam as of today please help ....2.thumb.jpg.894e38da25ffd64232c382bf36fc2cee.jpg1.thumb.jpg.0c094ea3791d4d8b0c280c33ac03f0e7.jpg3.thumb.jpg.7730ba8a0e2b4745851904970d316ec5.jpg

I suggest changing your steam custom URL to what your username is in the steam settings rather than it being a string of numbers, and simply adding that username in the import wizard when it asks for it, like so.

You dont actually say what you have tried so im gonna start there, if that part is all correct then you only need your API key as all your privacy settings are fine.

Do the following to get your custom url that you need for this:

Open Steam
Go to your profile page in Steam (click your username, then profile from the drop down)
On the right hand side of your profile page click the "Edit Profile" button
On the page that button opens to there is a textbox labeled "Custom URL"
Enter that text into the steam import

Also if you go to "Edit Profile" you can actually choose a custom URL, as seen in my image below, i just made mine my username, and now i just add that in Launchbox.

Does that custom URL have to be "http://www.steam/etc-profilename" for it to work, or can I just type my steam account's handle?

Edit: damn, now Launchbox is asking for some API key...

heres an updated Video from ETAPRIME which shows you how you get your API key.

My fault was, that I forgot to put a name in the custom Url row.

I did get it two work maybe 3 weeks ago.  after importing the game Launchbox renamed half of my games and change all the box art to a game I would never

play.  I am still trying to fix that

Do you have examples of this? Can you screenshot us the issue? I honestly don't know how that's even possible...
