Drybonz
Anybody else have one of these back in the day? lol
DOS76
Before my time.
Drybonz
DOS76 said Before my time. They were still around in the Atari 2600 days... I remember we had both at the same time. The Pong didn't get as much love, of course. It's tough to compete with Yar's Revenge. :P
DOS76
I used to play my cousins 2600 in the early 80s but I don't remember ever seeing one of those and they are hideously unforgettable looking.
Lordmonkus
Nice find there, lovely shade of 70s brown. I used to play Pong on an old Coleco Telstar way back when I was like 3 or 4 years old.
Drybonz
Haha... yeah, totally retro ugly. I found this picture online and it reminded me of the console. The two little paddles lift out of the console and are connected by a wire that you had to stuff back up inside there to get the paddles back in place. CADScott
I actually think I had something similar, but I remember it being much less 70's brown, more an off white. Classic, but having played pong recently, I can't believe how much time I spent playing it when I was a kid, that game gets boring pretty quickly now. I guess we are pretty spoiled for great games now, amazing to think how far we have come in such a short time Pong was released in 1972, just before I was born, and in my lifetime we have gone from that to games like Fallout 4! Drybonz
And they are rolling out virtual reality now. Won't be long until people are plugged into a VR machine full time and fed intravenously so they can play virtual reality MMO's full time. sadesh
Yeah, I had one of this, but now it has completely gone to the garage.
Drybonz
sadesh said Yeah, I had one of this, but now it has completely gone to the garage. Hah... I heard that. It's probably not one you want to break out that often. I was thinking about it, though... if my parents had that thing for a while before I started playing it, during the 2600 era, that would have been my earliest experience with retro-gaming. :)
Antropus
I had this one, my very first videogame console ever, back in Brazil... around 1981-82 or so :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIHrqiIOcMc -Kris

CADScott
This was my first handheld game machine, the glorious Galaxy Invader 1000!
Jason Carr
Wow, I'm jealous guys. My time really only goes back to the Atari 2600. But I've always sort of wished I was around since the beginning.
CADScott
I also had these at about the same time, I can't believe how much time I spent playing on Donkey Kong. I didn't realise these were made by Nintendo until I just looked them up.
Jason Carr
This has been posted before, but if anyone hasn't seen this series yet, you're in for a treat (and a lot of wasted time). ;) It's Retroware's "The Video Game Years" and covers 1977-1989. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N3ZvG3JUTg&list=PLC2468FB35ED2DAC2
CadetStimpy
I never owned a Pong Console, but I did play one. I don't remember if this was the exact type, but it looked more like this, than the one in the first Post. I've never owned a hand-held type. I don't even have a Smartphone, just a flip-phone (which are getting increasingly more difficult to find).
