Lordmonkus
After several days of messing around with the latest Mednafen with Saturn support I finally made my tutorial video on getting it up and running in it's basic form. I don't cover Launchbox usage in this video, but I may cover that in the future if it is needed.
Jason Carr
Nice, Monkus. Can you put this in the new videos section as well? I know it's not directly LaunchBox-related but I'd say emulator tutorials should definitely be covered there.

Where is this new videos section you speak of ? Edited August 11, 2016 by lordmonkus
DOS76
Click forums and right in the first section there is a videos subcatagory
Lordmonkus
Ahh, of course it's right in front of my eyes and I don't see it. Ok. I have make a post over there as well. Delete this thread if needed. Edited August 11, 2016 by lordmonkus
Drybonz
Thanks... I still haven't set this up, so I will watch your video first.
Jason Carr
Hi @lordmonkus, my apologies but I think there's still some confusion. Up at the top of the site in the blue menu there a link for Videos. That's what I meant for the new Videos section; can you post the video there? A forum topic is automatically created when videos are posted in the new Videos section.
Lordmonkus
Ahh ok I see what you are talking about now. I just made a thread showing some short demo videos of games in Mednafen but I won't put those in the cvideos section you are talking about. I will put the tutorial videos in there though.
Jazzphone
Life may have gotten easier for everyone! RetroArch now has Mednafen Saturn Support!!! http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6643&p=44964#post44964 Edited August 13, 2016 by Jazzphone
Jazzphone
Seems to work fairly good, however it wants you to setup the internal clock every time you start a new game, but so pumped to see progress on this so quickly. Mednafen works so well
kmoney
I really do hope it passes SSF on its quality as SSF is such a pain to setup.

No input lag is absolutely amazing. Mednafen is quite stable honestly, I played several hours last night and didn't experience one Crash. I still have to use SSF for Virtua Fighter 1/Remix, Resident Evil, and the Virtua Cop Series. I also use the Yabause Core in RetroArch for Battle Arena Tosh. URA and Area 51. Other than those few cases, Mednafen pretty much plays all other US Saturn Releases perfectly. Including almost every game SSF has trouble with!
niglurion
I don't know what doesn't work but every game from my collection is stuck on this screen (Mednafen Saturn Core in Retroarch): I launch the game. I set the language, date and hour, and after that, Mednafen stay on this screen. I'm using your Bios Lordmonkus, and i've tried to use another dump, but... everytime is the same thing. I don't understand. It's the same for JAP game, EUR game or US games... EDIT : ok, my 10 games were bad dumps (although they worked with SSF and yabause). I've redump them with isobuster and it's ok now Edited August 13, 2016 by niglurion

It does run if you skip the intro, but if you hit start during the intro...the menu never loads and it appears to hang. Which is where the confusion is. Lordmonkus
Yeah I did notice this in my testing. I forgot to mention it in my video.
Jazzphone
Independence Day also doesn't work in Mednafen. It locks up after the FOX Splash Video. So this is another nod to SSF.
