Lordmonkus
So there's a time and date setting in the game aside from the Saturn internal clock and they are different from each other ? I was never into the Nights games so my knowledge on them is extremely limited, even less knowledgeable on the Christmas one.

DOS76
Now I'm confused the system date is when you launch the game for the 1st time you set the language and the date/time the the 1st time you start the game it also asks you to set the date/time again that's what I was referring to
GamingOldGuy
ignore me. I was confused.
angelobodetti
Thank you for this! Anyone get the mednafen_saturn core working in RetroArch? It crashes immediately when I try.
Lordmonkus
Yes, do you have the bios put into your Retroarch/system folder ?
DOS76
I didn't try it until the RA core came out it is working great for me get the bios that @lordmonkusmentions they are in your MAME folder if you have the full set and make sure you set the Associated platform for the core and you should be good. angelobodetti
I have Yabuse up and running so if it is the same bios then yes it's all set. Is Mednafen better than the current Yabuse setup in RA? I mostly care about comparability more than shaders, etc...
Zombeaver
Yes, by a mile. Yabause is trash. Broken, buggy, wildly inaccurate crap. Mednafen blows it out of the water. There's specific names that have to be used for the bios files. They're on the Mednafen site, can't recall them from memory.
DOS76
The bios need to be renamed it not the same as the Yabause core uses also you have to switch your core in associated platforms. The RA core is great for its early stage Edited August 15, 2016 by DOS76
DOS76
Yeah what he said but with a little less vehemence
Lordmonkus
You can use the same bios but they will need to be renamed. Sega Saturn BIOS v1.01 (JAP).bin rename to sega_101.bin Sega Saturn BIOS v1.00 (US).bin rename to mpr-17933.bin And like Zombeaver said this blows the doors off Yabause. For now though the RA core does not support the 3D analog controller but that should be in very soon. A Retroarch dev said he was rigging that in this week.
Zombeaver
Haha sorry. I honestly just can't recommend Yabause under any circumstance. It's one of those things where it's like actually so bad that it's not even beneficial at all in my opinion. You're better off with literally no emulation than the broken mess that is Yabause. Isn't the "b" in the name literally for "buggy"? Haha
Lordmonkus
Come on now, Yabause does have one good thing going for it. You don't have to mount a disk image to play games with it

Zombeaver
@lordmonkusYep, and despite that I still went through the annoying-as-hell trouble of setting up everything to use SSF in LB. That definitely should say something... Also the full name is "Yet Another Buggy And Uncomplete Saturn Emulator". Not only is Buggy in the title, the title isn't even grammatically correct... "Uncomplete" isn't even a word! My ire is even greater now...
Lordmonkus
Yup, Yabause wasn't worth using before and it's even less worth now. I guess before if you only wanted a couple of games that actually worked perfectly fine in Yabause it was ok but over all it was useless. DOS76
Well I made mine up and didn't know the other acronym existed but I borrowed the buggy party from your post.
