kerszr
I have dual monitors. Which means I can have the marquee displayed on one and the Big Box menu on the other. I want MAME to open on my 2nd screen but it keeps opening up on the 1st. I dont know how to go about doing this. MAME is the only emulator that seems to be doing this. Please, I need some help! DOS76
you have to set it in the MAME.ini info can be found here https://docs.mamedev.org/_files/MAME.pdf 1
actioncomics
is it added here on this screen? if so, can you tell me what the command would be? maybe just add "-screen \\DISPLAY1"? thanks
DOS76
No it gets added to the MAME.ini file that is located in the MAME folder.
DOS76
on consideration it may work from there but I've never tried that.

kerszr
yeah im having trouble still. how do you do this?
actioncomics
you have to figure out what your monitor is...but I did this just by trial and error. for a triple monitor set up, monitor numbers start with 0 (primary), 1 (secondary), 2 (third). below is what I did to make it work for me.

squatkylourx
I'm sorry, but there is no "Mame.ini". I found "Ui.ini" but that has not the Data to change the monitor. Mame0221b 64bit

Mame0221b 64bit Either run Quote mame64.exe -cc to create it, or start without a rom and from the UI choose save configuration option. 1
PHAS
Not working for me, and I don't know how (or where) to do this verbose thing. Can you guys think in some alternative?

Can you guys think in some alternative? Right click any MAME game in LB, pick Open MAME. When MAME starts, double click Configure Options, and than double click Save Configuration. You should now have a mame.ini in your MAME directory. You can edit this file manually, or a lot of the settings can be set in the same Configure Options section of Mame. MidLife
Sorry to res this thread, but I am having a simular issue. I have 2 monitors (a marquee screen and game screen), I found the displays by using the verbose command. I edited the .ini file but it doesn't change anything. In my display properties it lists the monitor I want to display the game on as screen 1. But both mame and BigBox see it as screen 2. I am editing the mame.ini file in the main mame diretory with exe file. Any ideas? Edited November 15, 2021 by MidLife
MidLife
OK, I don't know what the issue was, but I deleted my display drivers, unplugged the 2nd monitor, shut down and restarted and mame now loads on the correct monitor.

For some reason MAME defaulted it to 1 screen.
Rauzzman80
i dont know why but none of these work for me... Im using the latest version of mame, .0251 and yea it keeps opening up on my marquee screen instead of my dell 3:4 my marquee is hooked up via hdmi so my pc keeps identifying it as screen 1.. which tells me microsoft is retarded and set up an automatic detect instead of a manual set up option.. im getting pissed off
latin625
@Rauzzman80 Mame 251 is wacky as hell. Im having issues too. Try: Windows Key + Shift+ Arrow key (left or right) to force the display to the other monitor. It has worked for me and then it stays there.
