MRB_Alters Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 It seemed to happen randomly today. The only changes I had made was to add bezel artwork to the mame/artwork folder, went to start the game and got this screen. It starts up fine through mame and I haven't encountered issues with any other games. I've tried removing the bezel art and it still didn't start. I've re-loaded the rom, reloaded mame as an emulator... not sure what else could be causing it? Quote
Retro808 Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 What Mame version are you using? Standard command line Mame, MameUI, Arcade64? And how old is the version of it? Did you update Launchbox versions? If it still runs in Mame then there is a couple things it could be depending on your answers. Quote
MRB_Alters Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 I'm running Mameui64 version 0.217 with the updated romset. I have Launchbox version 10.9 (which just had me reinstall the update for some reason.) Quote

MRB_Alters Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 Ok. But the game is still not working. It's still attempting and then giving me those same boxes. Quote
Lordmonkus Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Yeah I don't have a solution for you, if the game worked before and you didn't change emulator or rom then it should work now. Quote
spycat Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 If this game is launching directly from MAME but no longer through LaunchBox, open the game's Edit Game window and see if LaunchBox is still pointing to the game. If the path looks wrong you can just manually browse to the game. Quote

MRB_Alters Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 I've checked the rom path and it is correct. I even force reloaded the rom to make sure and it still didn't work. Quote
C-Beats Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Go to the zip file you are pointing at (would assume from the image it is simpsons.zip) open it up and look in the root. All the files listed in that error message should be in the root of that zip file. The errors are stating that MAME did not find them there. Sounds like a file corruption issue or you aren't pointing to the correct file (or the MAME ini file is set up incorrectly). Don't know of any other reasons you would see that message. Quote
Retro808 Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Just a shot in the dark since you are using MameUI and say the game works directly in Mame. Where is your Mame.ini file located? Is it in the ini folder or is located in the root folder where the Mame.exe is? Quote

My .ini file is in the Mame root folder. I checked the simpsons.zip file and all the files are there. Quote
JoeViking245 Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Do you by chance have more than one installation of mameui64.exe? It looks to me like the mame.ini file that's in the same folder as the mameui64.exe you're pointing LaunchBox to, doesn't have the 'rompath' pointing to the folder that simpsons.zip is located in. Or if you have more than one simpsons.zip on your computer.... Quote
