SqHd Posted Saturday at 01:35 AM Posted Saturday at 01:35 AM Great update, LB team! I'm noticing (after a full RetroAchievements scan) that my "Done / Beaten" games are showing as "Done / Mastered". In the Metroid example image, I have beaten the game, but not mastered (as shown by missing cheevos). This is with the default progress priorities. Quote

Did they work for in LaunchBox version 13.21? When you initially updated to 13.21, did you install the K-Lite Codec Pack? Or by-pass/skip that part of the update? Quote

Rlad Posted Saturday at 03:28 PM Posted Saturday at 03:28 PM Beta 3 Win11 No games launch in Bigbox, the game startup window is opened but nothing else happens. Games launch fine from LB. Quote
JoeViking245 Posted Saturday at 03:53 PM Posted Saturday at 03:53 PM Progress Badges: "last ditch effort" I like the colored Progress Badges found in Nostalgic Platform Badges (\Nostalgic Platform Badges\Progress\) (beta-3). "Issue": When using the Legacy Conversion Badge Pack, the "last ditch effort" isn't kicking in show the Progress badges from Nostalgic Platform Badges. Result: No progress badges are shown. (They do show when Nostalgic Platform Badges is selected.) Some Testing: Attempted copying the images directly into \Nostalgic Platform Badges\ (from the Progress subfolder) to no avail. Copying the \Progress\ folder into \Legacy Conversion Badge Pack\ does work. Quote
andyco47 Posted Saturday at 04:23 PM Posted Saturday at 04:23 PM no matter wot i have tryed windows media player will not work with lb or bigbox but vlc is ok Quote
Drybonz Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM That retro achievements scan is a pretty lengthy process. Is that because of RA and nothing can be done for it, or is there something that could be done to speed it up? I started it, went and had lunch and came back, the progress bar had barely moved. Quote
SqHd Posted Saturday at 07:19 PM Posted Saturday at 07:19 PM It does take a while. I have 88k games and the scan takes around 30 - 60 mins. Sometimes I've noticed that I have to click the scanning window or it will just stop. Quote

We run an application called RAHasher on your local computer that hashes the ROM. Some system this process requires reading the whole file, others just the headers. The thing that makes it take WAY longer is if your ROMs are in 7z format since that app doesn't support it so we have to unzip your game, THEN hash it for each item you're scanning. 1 Quote

Ok, that's good info... thank you. I don't think I have many in 7z, but I probably have some. *edit* Ok, I see my Dreamcast disc images are 7zipped. That was probably adding a lot of time to that process. Edited Saturday at 10:46 PM by Drybonz Quote

Rlad Posted Saturday at 11:28 PM Posted Saturday at 11:28 PM A couple of progress questions After updating some games are already marked as active when they don't meet the 30 mins played criteria or have achievements. Should 'not started' be lowest priority by default then when say you get an achievement active takes over because it's higher priority, or am i not getting how this works? Quote
Ultra God Azgorath Posted Sunday at 09:25 AM Posted Sunday at 09:25 AM I was also looking at the progress priority settings and was like "Ok, how does this work?". Quote

Auto-Track Priority system is the first image you saw. The system will always go from the bottom up stopping on the first criteria that the game qualifies for. The second image is ONLY for managing what values show as possible values in the field and what order they appear in the UI. The ComboBox drop down, Sidebar, and quick filter ALL will use that priority list to display the values in the order you want them displayed. That page has 0 effect on what values a game gets for auto-scan, and can be altered even if you have that feature disabled. Quote

Ok that makes sense, the confusion comes from expecting it to be like the region or media priority tabs. On closer look it seems that eveything thats been played (regardless of playtime) is marked as active on the update which was the other thing that was throwing me. Quote

Yeah, because of the notable confusion we'll be renaming that page to "Game Progress Organization" as well as add text to the top of the page explaining what it is you're actually doing on the page. Stop others from running into the same confusion hopefully, thanks for bringing it to our attention (you as well @Ultra God Azgorath). Last thing we want to do is make a application as.... feature rich as LaunchBox anymore confusing lol. We'll take a look at games getting the wrong in progress value assigned. We had any issue with that before the release we thought we had taken care of, sounds like we may have missed a spot or two. 1 Quote

I have thousands of games which I have started just once and with a playtime of under 5 minutes which are all shown as active/in progress. I think the 30 minute value for setting it as active doesn´t work. And I think the old badge "Not played" is redundant know. I have cases where the badge is shown two times (one is the old badge and one for the progress mechanism) Quote
