Love this sort of thing! These would probably look best when playing in a completely dark room.

Vitamin D deficiency all the way! :D

Nice! I'm very nostalgic for the SMS. I picked it over the NES in 1987. Which I at first regretted and then didn't regret. Because I loved it. I bought an NES two  years later anyway, lol.

Thanks :) I grew up with the NES, didnt even knew about the sms till the end of the 90s. It seems to have better graphics and sound, dont know at this point if it has better games though, just started going through the list.

I would recommend,

Wonder Boy in Monsterland - Great RPG style platformer
Alex Kidd in Miracle World - Great platformer
Phantasy Star - 3D dungeons!
R-Type - Great Arcade port!
Rampage - Great Arcade port! Way better than the NES version.
Shinobi - A fun Arcade port of Shinobi.

But of course they might not hold up today. It's something that you would had to experience when it was new.

I had a SMS growing up so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. Fantasy Zone is pretty cool and the Outrun port is good too. Gangsta Town is a cool light gun game depending on your setup that may not matter though.  Black Belt is good (or was it one of the only games we had so it seemed like it was). There are other good games I suggest just playing around with anything you see that interest you. Also the Mark III covers from Japan are so much better art wise then their US counterparts. I use the US covers but have the Mark III ones also thought they are harder to come by.

A. does the cart change depending on the game?  I know you can do game specific in rocketlauncher bezels, not sure about retroarch.

B. Love this style! hope you cover more systems.

A. I make the bezels with a generic cart, otherwise I'd have to make a bezel for each game.

B. Thanks, glad you like! I certainly will try to cover them all :)

@DOS76 and @Orionsangel This is the list I have left after checking them all out, seeing as I just finished the Mega Drive list and Mame list I haven't kept the many ports of those this console has to offer (except for a few which I'm very fond of like Ghouls n ghosts and Shadow Dancer), I like to minimize my collection to only those games I find interesting and seeing as I don't have the nostalgia factor I might have committed sacrilege in your eyes lol

Still 41 games though, not a bad score. It's a great console and it beats the Atari Jaguar for sure :)

Oh, very nice! Those SMS cases make me nostalgic. Sega had one over on Nintendo with those hard cases. They're slick and last forever. Unlike Nintendo using flimsy cardboard boxes. Especially the SNES boxes which are extra thin cardboard. But yeah, the SMS had a little more power than the NES. One great example for comparison is the game Rampage.

Oh very cool. I see you had to put the console to the right side of the screen because the height of the SG-1000 carts.

Awesome overlays but I have 1 problem with overlays in general thats preventing me from using them; How do I make the RetroArch widgets/notifications appear ON TOP of overlays instead of hidden under them?
