About This File

I use the awesome Bigbox function to display marquees on a secondary monitor. For years I've been collecting high res Mame arcade marquees from all over the internet and since the start of this project got huge help from people in the community to expand this collection, please see the credits below. Not all marquees are in 4K but many are, I've down scaled the resolution to max 3840 pixels wide and max 2160 pixels high and saved all in .jpg format for a good size and quality balance. This project includes Naomi and Atomiswave marquees as well as other arcade systems.

These marquees go hand in hand with this bezel project:

Credits
I have forgotten where I got all marquees through the years but I know many came from the legendary @Mr. Do collection see: https://mrdo.mameworld.info/index.php and the many members that create artwork at: https://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat=
@ArsInvictus is certainly one of the providers as well. A huge thank you to @mOa and @JonnyModlin for providing many many marquees to this collection. Many lower resolution marquees came from the legendary team of AntoPisa at https://www.progettosnaps.net/

Also a huge thanks to the following people and sites: @PapaShine, @Dreamstate@flanx, imbord3rlin3, @djweevil666http://adb.arcadeitalia.net/, @THKhttps://flyers.arcade-museum.com/https://www.flyerfever.com/https://www.recreativas.org/, Ken at https://www.flickr.com/photos/10707024@N04/zzzaccaria.com, Hasan Tasdemir from Nationaal Video Game Museum for the opportunity to photograph at your amazing museum.
https://www.nationaalvideogamemuseum.nlhttps://segaretro.org/@seijurou and all the logo makers and artwork scanners and submitters for the LB database and other databases.

Hope you enjoy this collection.

Now i want to do the same for videos, but it seems it isn't available the Video checkbox:

LB database doesnt have videos except for some cinematic theme videos. You'll want to use the emumovies download menu for that in the second step. If in emumovies menu there aren't any videos then they are not on their servers.

What's New in Version 1.5

I got help from @mOa he kindly donated new and updated marquees and also pointed out some grahical glitches that where present in the collection, thanks bro! :)
I was on a new quest to find or create marquees that where missing as a replacement for the generated marquees I uploaded previously as I wasn't pleased with them at all, they look really boring after a while.
A lot of research went into this, the result is a ton of custom marquees I created but also found a few great custom marquees by others, rare Japanese marquees (Instruction flyers standing up), adjusted marquees, recreated marquees, new marquees and then some more marquees lol
Also thanks to @ArsInvictus for some amazing quality marquees he uploaded. And thanks to anyone that uploaded artwork, logos and more to the LB database, without them I couldn't have created those custom marquees.

Pack 1 of 2, second pack will be available in a month or so.

Here's the content of Update 1.5, watch in 4K if you have the chance.

Will you release the second part of the pack?

Yep, its still in the works a bit later than I thought initially though. There will be more updates after the second pack in the future.

hi, i currently have the marquee complete collection downloaded from AntoPisa collection and I stored the marquees into the marquees folder into my MAME installation folder.

Is it possibile to keep both this beautiful marquees collection and the AntoPisa's one? Probably it is better to overwrite the AntoPisa's marquees with the ones included in this collection, in order to have the best file for each game. Is this correct?

thank you!

I'm not familiar with that collection so I don't know what I should recommend in terms of overwriting.

What's the aspect ratio of these?

They are all different but max out on either 3840 or 2160 pixels.

thanks

Currently my marquees (about 4450 .png files) are zipped in a 2GB marquees.zip file and it is correctly detected in Arcade64 (i don't use MAME anymore). For example, for FInal fight i have 2 marquees: the 1st one (ffight.png) has 1200x392 pixel resolution (400KB), the 2nd one (ffightj.png) has 500x122 resolution (75KB).

As marquees of this beautiful collection are in .jpg format, they will not overwrite my collection..i can only add them and create a new unique marquee.zip file

How many files/games are included in this collection, more or less?

thanks!

The final fight marquee in this collection is much larger resolution wise. I use the marquees in launchbox images folders myself and then display them on a second screen in big box. Im not at the pc atm to count them but you could download the files and see in explorer how many there are.

I'm currently setting up a 1680x342 marquee screen. The marquees are displaying fine, but many are not the full width of the screen. Did you come across any full-width marquees on your travels?

What do you mean by full-width?

No as I've said before marquees all have different resolutions, in japan for example they used instruction flyers as marquees on top of their candy cabs and they have a vertical layout, and so on. When I can't find a dedicated marquee i'll resort to japanese marquees if I can't find those then official flyers and none of those I make a custom marquee.
