Edit 2 - For those that find this in 2022, the existing tv pack has to be updated because of the update to the Mega Bezel package.
Exactly @rancid!
Thanks for informing!
With Mega Bezel Shader updates, the Soqueroeu pack may not work as expected. That's because the names and structure of the presets changed. I plan to update this preset pack to be compatible with new versions of HSM Shader Pack. I'm also finalizing version 2.0 of the package, with all the backgrounds reworked.- 1

Awesome shader set. Just thought I'd let you know that for some reason the Atari2600 shader preset changes the screen to vertical and the background image is just gray diagonal lines. How can this be fixed?
EDIT: Ok so I found out that it's the "Rotate CRT tube" option. If I switch it to 0 this shows: and if I change it to 1 this shows: All the other shaders display correctly except atari2600
@Azgorath , thanks for reporting this!
The Atari 2600 system is one of the few that fluctuates during shader execution. This can happen because the shader tries to scale the resolution automatically. Normally this is fixed when we set the screen format to 4x3 by shader parameters, instead of keeping it on auto. But it's still not a definitive solution.
The shader creator is working on improved versions of the package. I encourage you to appreciate the work of HSM.
Meanwhile, I'm working on fixes and at some point I might release an update, ok?
Thanks again!- 1

Themes with this assets look very nice. My only sadness is not finding all images for all games. Does it use the default image?

Thanks a lot man!

As I've never used xaml before this, I'm looking in to if its possible to manipulate png colours or not from the xaml file. So before any other versions I want to get this done.
Thanks!
Using color codes would be great. With just a few slides all systems would be covered, just like the main Colorful theme currently does. Go ahead my friend!- 1

Hi guys, I did new tests by renaming filenames to match the platform name. This solved the problem. Rename files in LaunchBox\StartupThemes\StartingTheGame-Dark
For those with the same problem, just rename both files corresponding to each platform. Example:
Nintendo Entertainment System = Nintendo NESNintendo Entertainment System Shutdown = Nintendo NES Shutdown
All good now!
Hey @Hazuki, I think we need a white theme version now. What do you think?
We also need more platforms. I couldn't find NEC console files.Do you have source files to share?

@soqueroeu If you are using non-standard names for your platforms you should be able to change file and media names for it to work.
1. Copy the existing NES xaml and rename it Nintendo NES (Nintendo NES.xaml).
2. in the \Resources folders go into \SystemLog and \Loading folders and either rename the NES images to Nintendo NES or copy them and name the new ones Nintendo NES (Nintendo NES.png).
3. Edit the new Nintendo NES.xaml and change the image file names in lines 32 and 33 to be Nintendo NES.png.
Unfortunately since you are not using standard name you may have to do this with all platforms like that. It is hard for theme creators to accommodate the multitude of ways users might name platforms.
Thanks @Retro808!
I haven't taken this test yet. But technically, changing the paths on lines 32 and 33 in axml wouldn't be necessary, as I can point to any file I want. I believe the startup theme is looking for the Nintendo Entertainment System value a step back as the only alternative. -

Someone more knowledgeable than me will have to chime in here as i dont know code, but i dont think the alternate system names in the metadata.xml do anything at all in themes. I believe themes can tap into the "scrape as" field though, so a platform could be named anything at all, but if its scraped as the correct name (which you would assume it would be otherwise the user would have no media for these platforms) it should still be able to show the correct theme/view. As i say though someone who actually knows this stuff would need to confirm.
I think the same. I believe this is how the system should work completely. Otherwise, it would be necessary all addons for Launchbox do a search for files, to create compatibility with everything.

@Hazuki, Nice!
Clear logo removal worked, ok. I still need to run more tests. But I realized it's not showing platform logos for Playlists. Is this intentional?
And, for those who don't use default names platforms, will there be any fixes? -
Hi @Hazuki
Thank you for your support. It will be great to have one without clear logo game version.
About the platform logo, I noticed it works when I have platform default names. In my test, the Nintendo Entertainment System platform was created as Nintendo NES, so it's loading screen shows default BigBox logo. And, about the loading bar, I never see it. The message always appears in text only, even if I launch a PSX game or another ISO game:
I tested the default startup theme and what I have is text only and never a status bar. Tested with pure and compressed ISO. Nothing changes .

Hey @Hazuki, this start theme looks really good. But thinking not everyone uses fanart images, would it be possible to disable clear logo to avoid certain redundancies?
And, why don't I have the platform name and the loading bar?
This theme doesn't work as expected for platforms without default names. That's right?
-
Nice!
Hey @Hazuki, what about game images? Which group of images will the system use by default?- 1

@WallyWonka, your work is excellent. But the performance worries me, due to the size of each image. Anyway, thank you so much for your efforts!

Hi Guys!
I remember seeing a video for Mega Drive JP somewhere. Where is it? -
-
Hey, @viking, thanks for not forgetting the PC Engine CD case. ?
As I've said before, Colorful will be my main theme. I can't wait to use it when we have all theme features available.
If I may say so, I see that latest videos have fewer objects and little TV variation. The first ones are more worked, with more elements on the screen. I know there are also other people in the community working to help build resources. But I think everyone should follow the same quality line. Maybe it's not a bad idea to bring objects closer together on the screen, in case there aren't many elements to show.
In any case, I want to thank everyone involved for their efforts.
Thanks a lot! -
Hey @faeran, will these workshop themes have long life, support and updates like the traditional themes we have in the community? If I like one, should I expect an updated version of it?

Also wondering if there is a way to zoom in? I tried upping the scale a bit but it wasn't working.
Using the Standard base preset, the Background layer can’t be scaled. Assuming you know how to do it, If you don’t use too many layers you could use the Decal layer for the background and the Top Layer for the Decals or Leds. They both have scaling modes (although in this pack I didn't use a decal layer). Obviously you would have to change the lines for pointed directories in the preset and modify some scale values in the shader parameters.
You have to:- In shader preset, replace "BackgroundImage" with "DecalImage"
- Add this line to your preset: HSM_STANDARD_DECAL_SHOW_UNDER_FRAME = "1,000000"
- In shader parameters screen, scale the Decal layer for desired value
- In shader parameters screen, increase No-Integer Scale to match the desired size.
-
In shader parameters screen, adjust tube X and Y direction to correct alignment
Note: this may not work well for night presets, unless you correctly scale the led layer. For this, you need to make one more modification, which consists of: - In night shader preset, replace "LEDImage" with "TopLayerImage".
- In shader parameters screen adjust Top Extra Layer Blend Mode to 2.00 (ADD).
- It may be necessary to adjust frame width and height to align with the background.
After all, I have a zoomed version of NES Night:

Followed the instructions, not sure what I'm doing wrong, I get a shader failed to apply error. The Mega Bezel shaders work fine, just not these.
Also it didn't work on GL, the files don't even show, I had to change to Vulkan, which was fine (it used to crash my system so I never used it, now its not for some reason so i doesn't matter, but just letting you know, maybe that is just me or I was doing it wrong).
5 hours ago, Maul83 said:Also do you know how to make it so the shaders load on start up? Start up delay was already at 0, but that doesn't work (this is for the mega Bezels, still can't get this pack to work yet)
Looks like you've already solved the problems. Anyways, shade presets will only be listed when the appropriate driver is active. For slang shaders, you must have previously downloaded the default Slang shaders via Retroarch's update menu. In order to list these shaders, the driver must already be active, in this case, Vulkan.
You should not use the delay option when loading the shader for Mega Bezel, it can cause crashes.
Good luck and good gaming! -
Thank you for this beautiful theme @thimolor !!
The idea of having a theme with images pack is fantastic! You just need to be careful with their quality and resolution.
Could you create logos and banners for Playlists, Collections and Favorites?

I think these latest possible themes with new Launchbox features are really cool. I'm just sad they only look nice with fanart images, but unfortunately most games don't have such images. Using box art ends up polluting the result, along with clean logos.
