  1. Where are you seeing the temporary freeze-ups Dave? I very much doubt it has anything to do with AMD CPUs; more likely it's a configuration thing or a delay with a particular process. @alnyden's description above being related to a particular playlist makes sense, so I'm guessing it's playlist-related.
  2. Hmm, this could be specific to playlists or that particular playlist. Can you PM me a zip of your data folder? @Typhon @Drodrick We can look into better ways to deal with the alternate names situation, yes. It looks like we are, of course, going to need a better solution. My current focus is getting the 8.0 official release out but hopefully I can dive deeper into that soon.
  3. Thank you @eatkinola.
  4. There is an IsInGameDetails property on the model, but unfortunately it's not currently tied in with property notifications for when it changes, so it probably won't work well for bindings, hmm. Looks like you could also look for a change in the ListViewModel property, as that will change whenever the user goes back and forth between the details menu and the games lists.
  5. Sorry for the trouble here guys. Currently looking into it.
  6. Yes, we can look into adding it for the future, though I'm not sure of the priority of it. It won't make it into 8.0 since I'm looking to push that out ASAP due to the Steam import issue.
  7. Noted.
  8. Yes, please email support@unbrokensoftware.com and we'll get it changed.
  9. Is anyone else seeing any performance issues with Aeon Nox 2.0? Or any other theme? These performance issues are puzzling me because I haven't experienced any of them in any of the 8.0 betas. @alnyden What do you mean by "taking 30 seconds to load"? When does it take those 30 seconds?
  10. The issue with this is that a lot of the key bindings that people typically use already use a lot of the letters, especially on typical arcade controllers. It would work though if the key bindings were changed not to use the letters. If it keeps coming up as a request I'll consider implementing it, but as it stands unfortunately I don't think it's a popular enough request to make it a priority. Windows Explorer uses some kind of magic timing logic that's hard to figure out and sometimes hard to predict the outcome of, though I will admit that I do use it. For now the search box should work pretty quickly for that.
  11. Yeah, I never removed it from my list because I didn't figure it was actually fixed.
  12. @SNAK3ATER Per the Steam banner scraping, we're using the official steam banners right now, downloaded from http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com, which I think is official. We can certainly add more in the future if there's a good site with an API that allows for searching. Currently Steam banners are only downloaded for Steam games, of course. We already have a sophisticated image type fallback strategy that works via the Image Priorities settings in the LaunchBox options. It looks like the main issue though is that there are no image priorities settings for Steam banners or banners. You could certainly hijack one of the existing categories though to customize it however you like, and then use that in the theme, though it would probably be better for me to add options for Banner Priorities. Makes sense about the game options view.
  13. Please post this in a new topic @kostas. This topic is unrelated.
  14. Some views have those Top and Bottom Boxes Views and some views don't. They're a minor performance hit, so I don't want to add support for them to every view. You can check the Default theme to see which views have the boxes and which views don't.
  15. Text blocks unfortunately can't display half stars, since they use the text star character. In order to display half-stars, you generally have to use a more complicated solution like covering up a percentage of the stars, or adjusting the width of the text block.
  16. Okay, apparently we did have an issue where alternate names without regions were not being sent down to the LaunchBox Metadata.xml file. Not sure how that issue went unidentified for so long, but thanks for catching that. I know you had mentioned something like that earlier as well. I just fixed it on the server so that alternate names without regions will come down into the Metadata.xml now as well, though you'll need to make sure the metadata updates in order to test it (it's the same thing where it'll only update once a day and it updates whenever you try and search for a game or run an import/download process, etc.).
  17. Okay; I'll have to test it out on Windows 7. Most likely that's the difference.
  18. Good to know @MrBrac. Most likely this is the result of non-standard or bad drivers, or something of that nature. What software did you use to connect it up to your machine?
  19. Sadly I can't test every beta against every crappy anti-virus program (and yes, they're pretty much all crap). I do test the official releases, however. My recommendation has always been to dump third-party anti-virus solutions and use Microsoft's built-in-to-Windows-and-just-works-without-being-annoying Windows Defender. My personal stance is that any anti-virus program that consistently gives out false positives ruins the entire purpose of the program. The boy who cried wolf ends up dead in the end.
  20. Tip 10: Profit. Put all your hard work onto a used hard drive you got off eBay last year and sell it for $500! Rinse and repeat.
  21. That looks awesome. We probably won't get it integrated before the official 8.0 release, but hopefully for the future.
  22. Good to know about the Retroarch Netplay password; I wasn't aware of that. We'll probably come back to this and add additional features later on.
  23. This already works, as the Retroarch Netplay option should show up for the game as long as there's a Retroarch emulator configured with a matching associated platform, regardless of whether or not it's the default on that game.
  24. Interesting. I don't see this same behavior when I run that exact test (the music works properly and doesn't resume playing). I'm guessing there's some key difference between our machines. If we can identify it, I might be able to figure it out. Remind me what version of Windows you're running?
  25. No, that's actually not anything that LaunchBox ever does. It never overwrites media on installs or upgrades; if it did, I'd have a million people screaming at me. The only thing I can think of happening is what I mentioned earlier, that perhaps LaunchBox has been installed into two separate installations (two different folders on your hard drive).
