  1. Okay, good to know. My hunch is that this is somehow related to the Chrome integration we added, and there's some sort of semi-rare incompatibility on certain systems that's causing it. It's just a hunch at this point, but can you try installing these C++ redistributables just to make sure that's not the issue: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52685 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 Thanks! Let me know if that resolves it. If so, at least I know how to fix it. Otherwise we're gonna have to really dive in deep.
  2. @Vhero I'm not convinced that everyone's issues here are necessarily the same, or even related. Did you confirm if Big Box or LaunchBox were still running after checking Task Manager?
  3. The latest version of the .NET Framework (4.7.1) does not actually come with the base version of Windows 10, though I believe the updated frameworks do come with the updates to Windows 10, yes. It's messy because at previous times in the past it was or was not (back and forth I think) possible to actually install the latest framework on top of Windows 10 (dumb I know). It's at least worth a shot seeing if you can uninstall/reinstall, or even just trying installing the latest from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56116

    RocketLauncher

@kostas I'm not gonna be any help with Rocket Launcher at this point, as I'm not at all an expert. I have enough on my hands just helping people troubleshoot LaunchBox and Big Box lol.
  5. @Vhero Check Task Manager to see if there are any instances of LaunchBox or Big Box running in that case. If there's nothing wrong, then there's really no way that LaunchBox or Big Box could be killing CPU usage, unless there's some kind of insane Windows or .NET Framework bug. Also I'd recommend making sure your 100% up to date on all Windows updates. Are you running Windows 7 or Windows 10? It also might be worth reinstalling the .NET Framework, as that has fixed some strange oddities for some other people as well. This kind of stuff is typically not related to the LaunchBox code, and is more likely due to some kind of corrupted install or corrupted driver (often the .NET Framework). Big Box often pushes systems to their limits, so it's no surprise that weird stuff will come out through Big Box. @tjwoosta What version did you upgrade from? Were you on 7.16 before upgrading to 8.0? You can enable logging by changing the DebugLog line of the Settings.xml file, which may or may not help figure this out.
  6. I think I might have an idea what's happening here guys, sorry for the late reply @laodaron. I'm doing some testing and it seems to happen only when you only have a single platform and can't move up and down in the list. I'll get a fix into a beta soon but in the mean time you should be able to get around it just by adding another platform in LaunchBox.
  7. @Vhero Can you try installing the latest version into a new folder to see if Big Box works with a brand new install? That will help to narrow it down a little at least. This is the first I'm hearing of this issue, so most likely there's some kind of odd configuration issue or something.
  8. It looks like the error is in the HelperControl.GetTotalGamesConverter method, which I don't recognize so I'm guessing maybe that it's in a plugin? There's a String.Substring in that method that has an invalid value fed into the length parameter. Do you recognize that method @NJDave71?
  9. The way this works is that Smartscreen will notify you if the particular file has not been downloaded by very many people (yet). Since 8.0 just came out, that's basically what it means. Eventually, after enough people have downloaded LaunchBox 8.0, Smartscreen should stop whining about it.
  10. That would be correct. I don't believe I ever received any actual translated files from him, so we're starting from scratch here, sadly. Please do carefully read the first few posts of this thread though, because there are a few gotchas. Thank you so much!
  11. It's as safe as buying something from Amazon is.
  12. Typically this happens if you're restarting LaunchBox or Big Box and the previous instance hasn't yet shut down.
  13. You can go here and enter your email: https://www.launchbox-app.com/premium/lost-license That will re-send out your license via email, with the discount code.
  14. If you have a premium license to LaunchBox, there's a discount code available in your license email.
  15. Correct. Though I believe you'll need a paid subscription over there for manuals.
  16. Manuals are currently only available via EmuMovies.
  17. Thanks @Opak. The official release is out now guys.
  18. Official release is out.
  19. Good to know. Yes, I can certainly add something for both of those things. I'll put it on my shortlist.
  20. @zuccster Apologies for that. Yes, we are aware of slow downloads for some people due to location. Unfortunately we don't have any mirrors currently, though I'm considering it for the future.
  21. @Goldug Absolutely! That'd be wonderful. I don't believe we've heard from @Izzy for quite some time, so I'm guessing it's not happening.
  22. No worries my friend, just mentioning it for next time. Thank you so much, as always.
  23. It will try to move them to whatever folder is specified for the platform's Games folder: I'm guessing in this case it's the same folder.
  24. Thanks Robin. Do you know if the images you submitted were for games that were connected to the LaunchBox Games Database? When you edit a game, in the top right of the interface it will tell you if the game is connected to the DB or not: If it's not connected, I'm guessing that the plugin will attempt to add a new game.
