  1. Hehehehe. Somebody's gotta be the one to break new ground. ;)
  2. Thanks Opak. This makes sense but it is complicated by the fact that we support so many different controller options. Using a 360 controller is common, but so is using an arcade board. Generally, once you learn to use up, down, left, and right, and whatever keys/buttons you have for select and back, then most things are easily accessible. I agree though that it can be confusing for some people. It's hard to ride the line between having a clean interface while also making the controls obvious. But we can always add it and make it optional. The hard part is representing things well for all types of controls.
  3. Hi @phly95, that would be because Big Box runs at 60 frames per second by default. It makes sense that running at 75hz would be problematic, because that's 75 frames per second instead of 60, which conflicts a bit. The frame rate is already adjustable though, so in theory I should be able to add a setting to make it 75 FPS, which should make it more smooth. I'll add that to my list; it should be fairly quick and easy to do. :)
  4. I still think AutoHotkey is the way to go, just have to figure out how to make the right script.
  5. Hi @DOS76, potentially, yes. The question is how would it be best to implement it. Just using the back button you think?
  6. I think you might need "quotes" around the path to the EXE.
  7. I hadn't thought about this...but one thing you could try is using the AutoHotkey tab on Edit Emulator. That will allow you to do whatever you want via a script before you run the emulator. So if you use AutoHotkey to run nomousy, that should work. I believe there are even AutoHotkey scripts to hide the mouse, though not sure how you would turn it back on afterwards. Running an application with AutoHotkey is as easy as this: Run PATHTOEXE
  8. That's interesting. How'd you pull that off, @Mute64? Can you screenshot us the configuration or something? :)
  9. Yes, we can change it to the name of your YouTube channel. Email me at jason@unbrokensoftware.com and I can get a new license out to you. :)
  10. Thanks @Jazzphone. I agree that we need to display a message or something for when there's no results. I like your "Did you mean?" idea as well, though that would take some significant work so that probably won't happen soon. We should put in a ticket for it though. :)
  11. Thank you @fromlostdays. Keep in mind that I've actually simplified this even further now. If you remove your Rocket Launcher emulator in LaunchBox, and then add a new one to replace it, you'll see that Rocket Launcher is now in the list with the latest beta. Selecting it will automatically populate all the right settings (saving you from having to manually add the path to LaunchBox, etc.). :)
  12. Unfortunately additional apps don't support bulk editing for the moment. I am a bit confused why this is an issue with Retroarch though; on my Windows 10 machines the mouse is automatically hidden whenever I start up Retroarch in full screen. Are you not using full screen @Sithel?
  13. Hi @Zombeaver, you're correct that this is currently the best method (though you shouldn't have to uncheck emulation iirc). To be honest, I usually start by importing everything as DOS games for use in DOSBox and only switch a game to ScummVM if it happens to play better there. Unfortunately the problem with ScummVM is there's no way to automatically identify which game it is from the folder using their automated command-line options, and ScummVM requires you to manually specify which game it is. So if you happen to have your ScummVM folders named properly with the name of the game, an import process would be feasible, but otherwise, there's no good way to handle it.
  14. Hi @Domarius, I won't discourage you from writing your own frontend, but I would say that instead of writing your own you could re-theme Big Box to work better for CRTs. Big Box visuals can now be fully customized so in theory everything should work great that way. What features are missing from Big Box that you're looking to implement?
  15. The hardware isn't really set in stone yet as I'll probably be upgrading some things after I receive the cabinet. It probably won't be anything too amazing though, to be honest, as it'll mostly just be for playing MAME and older console games.
  16. Agreed, @Rincewind. I'll see if I can get a closeup of the cab.
  17. Hi y2j, unfortunately I haven't added a setting for the default view yet, but that is on my list to do soon. :)
  18. I agree, we should remove the ScummVM platform entirely from the games database. I think that's just a relic from TheGamesDB.net. ScummVM indeed is not a platform at all. Thankfully, removing the ScummVM platform won't do anything to prevent games from playing in LaunchBox. ScummVM is currently always manually configured (there is currently no ScummVM import process), so there's nothing to worry about there. Ideally we would change the platform for anything in the ScummVM platform to the correct one, and then I can delete the platform.
  19. Hi @Falcon, my hunch is that it's related to the VLC video playback engine. Try changing it to Windows Media Player under the Big Box Video options and see if that helps.
  20. Hi @djwar, yes, that is available. Just have to map a key or a joystick button to "Switch View" in the Big Box options under Keyboard Mappings or Controller Buttons.
  21. Hehehe, thanks @Hamfighter. I'm glad overall everything is working out well. MAME can be configured to save states automatically (for most games) as well as use bezel artwork and the like. Unfortunately LaunchBox doesn't yet help you with that stuff, so it has to be configured in MAME. Same with controls. I think for the bezels it's as easy as finding the bezel artwork package to download and putting it in the right folder. Automatically saving states is buried somewhere in the MAME options. Sorry I don't have more detailed answers for you; my MAME configuration knowledge is a bit rusty. ;)
  22. Thanks @bundangdon. I have more confirmations that RL is working fine with the latest betas in the beta testing thread. @dorr35, unfortunately I think this must be a configuration issue of some sort.
  23. Hey guys, we'll be running with the genres on the LaunchBox Games Database as the official genres to use. We could definitely stand to do some genre conversions though for Wikipedia. To be honest, the Wikipedia scraper is somewhat of a mess and so I do not recommend using it. Your genres should be consistent if you stick with the LaunchBox Games Database for your scraper.
