  1. Thanks Stimpy. :)
  2. Cool, sounds good Mike.
  3. Hi @ALIE, welcome. Launching the Windows 8/10 Metro-style apps is more challenging than it should be; it's kind of dumb how Microsoft set it up. @Zombeaver, you'd think you'd be able to launch those apps with an EXE file, but my experience suggests that it's not that easy, believe it or not. I'll add an item to my list to research that; I know that will probably be requested more and more very soon.
  4. Welcome, @craiganderson, great to have you here. :) There's currently no FTP, but I can see the possibility of setting that up. The challenge would be preventing people from using it for ROM sharing, though, of course. I do have to be careful about that stuff. I'm pretty excited to hear you're coming from Hyperspin, though, and looking at your website it looks like you have a lot of quality content. We'd definitely love to get some of that integrated with LaunchBox.
  5. Yes, simply putting files in the right folders with the right names will make them show up in LaunchBox, for images, manuals, music, and videos. You can name them either by the ROM file name or by the title of the game. For front cover art images, you'll need to use Refresh All Images under the Tools menu in order to refresh the cache (hence your observation of needing to edit the games, @DOS76).
  6. Gotcha, thanks @Talantyyr. I'll get that in shortly.
  7. Thank you @eric! :)
  8. Good ideas @shinra358, as always. Apologies for the delay on the secondary categories, but keep in mind that I have to focus on the most-requested/most needed things first. Secondary categories are unfortunately not a priority for the moment. I'll see if I can look at the mouse cursor issue again soon.
  9. The license expirations are actually a new thing within the past couple of months; after consulting with some business people, I have to make sure that LaunchBox stays around for a long time so that I can keep developing it, and after some research and thought, it seems necessary. So anyone who purchased LaunchBox before something like two months ago (I don't have the exact date off hand) will be grandfathered and will indeed have a forever license (as was promised at that time). However, anyone who purchased after that date will need to purchase a $10 upgrade fee in order to upgrade to new versions after the year is up (though LaunchBox of course will continue to work as-is without issues). I agree that $50 is a good price for a forever license, so I'll look to add that option soon. Thanks for the discussion guys. :)
  10. Okay, thanks guys. I will review. Looks like I'm going to have to purchase a Steam controller for testing.
  11. Hi assert.moe, I am considering adding this soon, but I don't have it in place yet. What would you consider a fair price for the lifetime license?
  12. Thanks XoRRoX, I'll add that to my list. :)
  13. Yeah, I'd very much like to completely boycott PayPal, but I don't really have that option without alienating people. I honestly doubt it has anything to do with a lawsuit as much as ignorant opinions of the decision makers.
  14. Hi @Zombeaver, I wasn't aware you could download the 240p videos using a free account. Where are they available? My talks with Circo have suggested that the videos are only available for paid accounts.
  15. New beta is out that resolves some of the performance issues with the EmuMovies batch downloading. It's still slow, but a whole lot faster than it was.
  16. As it turns out, the EmuMovies API was down today (and maybe yesterday or even earlier). It is back up now. :)
  17. Unfortunately right now there's no way to launch an app on starting LaunchBox. Also, additional apps require separate configuration for each game, so that's probably not a good solution either. You might be able to use the platform-specific AutoHotkey scripts as a better solution if you want to figure out the scripting, but from what it sounds like, it still won't be perfect.
  18. Okay, sure, I will add this to my list. :)
  19. Thanks guys, that's a big help. I'll take a look.
  20. Hi @bikeking8, from your email it sounds like you used Excel. Unfortunately Excel is going to be way to destructive to use with LaunchBox.xml. I think the only safe thing you'll be able to use is just a standard text editor, unfortunately.
  21. Awesome, thank you @Sennator! Sorry for the challenges there, of course. Yes, PayPal has screwed me much like it sounds like they screwed you. They actually held my money captive for a good while.
  22. Ha, very cool. Emulation Station is really great for low powered environments. I also have to give huge props to Emulation Station because I literally stole the Big Box interface concepts from it. Without Emulation Station's interface I wouldn't have had any idea where to start.
  23. Woot woot! Let us know when you have more added to the story. That's what I'm eager for. :)
