  1. Ah, good find polygonslayer. I added a change relatively recently to save to the temp folder first in order to help prevent data corruption. I had no idea the size of it could get so significant. I'll add something to clean up that folder. :)
  2. Hi @rsn5746, just FYI, performance should not be poor with 4,000 games. LaunchBox usually handles that kind of load with ease. Also, this day and age, the notion that .NET is slow is outdated and incorrect. So much so that Microsoft is building large portions of Windows itself with it. I'm constantly improving the performance of LaunchBox, but it sounds like there might be some other kind of issue going on, because LaunchBox is much more performant than that.
  3. Hi @TONBOX777, the ratings drop down only shows ratings that currently exist for the games in your database. However, you can manually enter any other ratings and they should show up just fine as well. There are images for all of the ESRB ratings (and Big Box should be smart enough to figure it out no matter how you format the rating). More customization options in Big Box are definitely coming, but as of yet you can't tweak the sizes or positions of the interface elements. I'll be getting back to Big Box development after I get the next version out. :)
  4. Yeah, start + select is already the default buttons to close/quit the active window. Unfortunately customizing all those button combinations would probably be too convoluted.
  5. Agreed, Craig. Good idea. I also have an item on my list to allow a default image for each separate platform. So I can tackle both of those together.
  6. Also, by the way, LaunchBox does now allow you filter out duplicate games when importing MAME games (just in case anyone else lands here). :)
  7. Killer, Craig. Looking great. It's really neat to see some new platforms in Big Box. Can't wait to see your whole collection. :)
  8. Yup, money, money, money. Vertical Motion Simulator? Oh man...how do they do that?
  9. Hahahaha, wow. It could get pretty crazy. I know at some point I'm going to want to lazily go back to my chair, but I'm excited for the experiences. It should be pretty surreal.
  10. Not that I know of, I think it's just to stuff in that image thread. Hopefully I can dive into the content on your site soon. :)
  11. Nice. One of these days I'm gonna replace my TV that the kids decided to scrape up with scissors. That was a great day.
  12. Hi @ALIE, welcome. Launching the Windows 8/10 Metro-style apps is more challenging than it should be; it's kind of dumb how Microsoft set it up. @Zombeaver, you'd think you'd be able to launch those apps with an EXE file, but my experience suggests that it's not that easy, believe it or not. I'll add an item to my list to research that; I know that will probably be requested more and more very soon.
  13. Welcome, @craiganderson, great to have you here. :) There's currently no FTP, but I can see the possibility of setting that up. The challenge would be preventing people from using it for ROM sharing, though, of course. I do have to be careful about that stuff. I'm pretty excited to hear you're coming from Hyperspin, though, and looking at your website it looks like you have a lot of quality content. We'd definitely love to get some of that integrated with LaunchBox.
  14. Yes, simply putting files in the right folders with the right names will make them show up in LaunchBox, for images, manuals, music, and videos. You can name them either by the ROM file name or by the title of the game. For front cover art images, you'll need to use Refresh All Images under the Tools menu in order to refresh the cache (hence your observation of needing to edit the games, @DOS76).
  15. Gotcha, thanks @Talantyyr. I'll get that in shortly.
  16. Good ideas @shinra358, as always. Apologies for the delay on the secondary categories, but keep in mind that I have to focus on the most-requested/most needed things first. Secondary categories are unfortunately not a priority for the moment. I'll see if I can look at the mouse cursor issue again soon.
  17. The license expirations are actually a new thing within the past couple of months; after consulting with some business people, I have to make sure that LaunchBox stays around for a long time so that I can keep developing it, and after some research and thought, it seems necessary. So anyone who purchased LaunchBox before something like two months ago (I don't have the exact date off hand) will be grandfathered and will indeed have a forever license (as was promised at that time). However, anyone who purchased after that date will need to purchase a $10 upgrade fee in order to upgrade to new versions after the year is up (though LaunchBox of course will continue to work as-is without issues). I agree that $50 is a good price for a forever license, so I'll look to add that option soon. Thanks for the discussion guys. :)
  18. Okay, thanks guys. I will review. Looks like I'm going to have to purchase a Steam controller for testing.
