  1. Thanks @haniobaid. This issue is due to putting so many values into those check box drop down lists. They don't handle it well, so I'm looking to completely revamp that dialog. It's also way to limited for the moment so I'm hoping to kill two birds with one stone.
  2. Hi @myspacee, welcome. That certainly is a challenge; you kind of have to get everything configured initially and then hopefully you should be good to go. It helps that LaunchBox is portable so you can sync between your various machines with Dropbox; this really helps with a game cabinet because you can configure things on your desktop computer and then everything will sync to your game cabinet. Also, Retroarch really helps to make some things uniform, if that's your cup of tea.
  3. That does sound like a fairly easy fix; thanks @haniobaid. I'll see if I can't add that soon, assuming that it really is just as easy as killing and restarting Explorer to fix it.
  4. Hi @Talantyyr, you should be able to filter by Play Mode in LaunchBox, and then arrange by Platform, or vice versa. Or as @haniobaid mentions you can use custom filters. Multiple filters in Big Box are coming but unfortunately they're probably a ways off.
  5. Hi @destructor_rph, I do have general background music planned, but right now it only plays as you browse through your games.
  6. That's cool; what tablet is it? Glad it's working again at least after disabling the RAM cache.
  7. Hi @argo, good to know, that does sound like a bug. I'll take a look. :)
  8. Yeah, all sounds like good things to try. I've never run LaunchBox in such a constricted environment so it should be interesting. :)
  9. @LMagnus87, the quick bar isn't a bad idea, but ultimately I'd like to add a more flexible interface for applications at some point. Sooner or later I will probably be adding functionality for other types of media, including applications. New beta is out that addresses a number of bugs and makes some important improvements: - Improvement: Added some additional safety checks to help prevent cases of XML file corruption - Improvement: Editing and removing games is now pretty much instantaneous regardless of how large your collection is - Fixed: When populating games with large collections LaunchBox would sometimes behave like it wasn't responding - Fixed: Right-clicking in list view wasn't properly updating the selection - Fixed: The favorite button in the game details wasn't working I'd like to put out another new official release sooner rather than later to get these out there, as some of them are a pretty big deal. I'm thinking I'll probably put out the official some time this weekend.
  10. Ah, sure. Might not be a lot I can do here, unfortunately. I assume you have the RAM caching turned off?
  11. Yes, I haven't checked what the coverage is for arcade games in TheGamesDB, but it's probably fairly low. One of my biggest priorities right now is to integrate EmuMovies, so hopefully that will help going forward.
  12. Yeah, for sure. I plan to add additional apps to platforms, so that you can basically add an additional app to every single game in a platform. Hopefully I can get to it soon.
  13. Thanks @wirtual82, I've noted all these. :)
  14. Hi @Talantyyr, yes, I do have that planned. :)
  15. Yup, worst case, give your machine a reboot and that issue should go away. If not, delete the LaunchBox.exe file that it's complaining about first. It's possible that something messed up permissions on the file, though that's not common.
  16. Very cool. I might have to pick one up for myself. Have you tested the various controllers with LaunchBox/Big Box? Any issues there?
  17. Goodness, I completely forgot about that. Facepalm on me. Yes, that was how I originally implemented it, and it does work that way by design. So no negative impacts.
  18. Hi @DOS76, are they showing up in the sidebar with both? Sounds like I have a case sensitivity issue. I thought I solved that a while ago but I guess not.
  19. Thanks Nathan, that is a good solution; it's probably the best solution there is right now. Ultimately I'd like to incorporate a PDF viewer into LaunchBox/Big Box that solves those problems, but of course there's plenty to do before we get there.
  20. Hi @garbanzo, I do plan on revamping custom filters very soon; thanks for that screenshot. I've built things like that before; I wanted to keep this as simple as possible originally, but I'm not happy with it currently because it's both limited and has usability issues with the drop downs. I'll keep this in mind, thanks.
  21. Really good thought, @Talantyyr. I do think that would improve the experience, I've seen the same problem with my own family. Will do. :)
  22. Okay, thanks; I'll take a look. :)
  23. Thank you guys for this discussion, all good feedback. @garbanzo, I've noted all those items and added them to the list. Per the crash with custom filters, I'm guessing it's just taking a while to populate the drop downs. There are a number of issues with custom filters that I really need to address, so I'll be reviewing that soon. @Lmagnus87, thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately the goal is to maintain consistency across typical Windows applications, so it's important that the Exit item remains under the File menu, awkward or not. Thanks for the clarifications @scree. I didn't know about the issues with right-clicking and selections in the list view; it sounds like this only happens with game details hover or when the side bar is closed?
  24. Hi @bjwest, it should basically just be a matter of enabling them in the Options menus (the configuration is different between LaunchBox and Big Box). You would just enable controllers, select your device (or check the box to use all controllers), and then optionally configure the buttons.
