  1. Yup, worst case, give your machine a reboot and that issue should go away. If not, delete the LaunchBox.exe file that it's complaining about first. It's possible that something messed up permissions on the file, though that's not common.
  2. Sounds great, thanks. :)
  3. Very cool. I might have to pick one up for myself. Have you tested the various controllers with LaunchBox/Big Box? Any issues there?
  4. Goodness, I completely forgot about that. Facepalm on me. Yes, that was how I originally implemented it, and it does work that way by design. So no negative impacts.
  5. Hi @DOS76, are they showing up in the sidebar with both? Sounds like I have a case sensitivity issue. I thought I solved that a while ago but I guess not.
  6. Thanks Nathan, that is a good solution; it's probably the best solution there is right now. Ultimately I'd like to incorporate a PDF viewer into LaunchBox/Big Box that solves those problems, but of course there's plenty to do before we get there.
  7. Hi @garbanzo, I do plan on revamping custom filters very soon; thanks for that screenshot. I've built things like that before; I wanted to keep this as simple as possible originally, but I'm not happy with it currently because it's both limited and has usability issues with the drop downs. I'll keep this in mind, thanks.
  8. Really good thought, @Talantyyr. I do think that would improve the experience, I've seen the same problem with my own family. Will do. :)
  9. Okay, thanks; I'll take a look. :)
  10. Thank you guys for this discussion, all good feedback. @garbanzo, I've noted all those items and added them to the list. Per the crash with custom filters, I'm guessing it's just taking a while to populate the drop downs. There are a number of issues with custom filters that I really need to address, so I'll be reviewing that soon. @Lmagnus87, thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately the goal is to maintain consistency across typical Windows applications, so it's important that the Exit item remains under the File menu, awkward or not. Thanks for the clarifications @scree. I didn't know about the issues with right-clicking and selections in the list view; it sounds like this only happens with game details hover or when the side bar is closed?
  11. Hi @bjwest, it should basically just be a matter of enabling them in the Options menus (the configuration is different between LaunchBox and Big Box). You would just enable controllers, select your device (or check the box to use all controllers), and then optionally configure the buttons.
  12. Thanks guys, @scree is right; let me know if there's a specific item you want to hide that can't be hidden.
  13. Ah, great idea Nathan. I really like that; I'll add it to the list.
  14. Awesome, thanks @SqHd. It's been really quiet since the 5.4 release, so I'm hoping that's a good thing. :)
  15. I appreciate all the support from you guys, especially in situations like this.
  16. Thanks kamyk. I just put in a safeguard, so that if it does happen, it recovers gracefully (fixes it) instead of crashing. Still not sure how it happened but I've confirmed that things work properly now even when loading the broken file. So I think we're ready for release.
  17. Was that XML file before or after you renamed "Emulators" to "Frontends"?
  18. The file in the zip file crashed for me immediately on load, before I even did anything at all.
  19. Okay, so I see what the problem is. For some reason there are two platform elements in the XML file with the same name, which is what is causing the error. I have no idea how that could have ever happened to begin with though, that's the trouble. Still researching...
  20. There are instances where a LaunchBox crash (a hard crash/freeze) can cause XML corruption, which is one of the reasons for the backups. I'm guessing what happened is that a glitch with 4.3 caused a freeze and resulted in a corrupt LaunchBox.xml file. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. I do have an idea to fix it that is on my list. Are you able to get it to happen again?
  21. Thank you Clive! No worries; I'll be putting out a new official very quickly because of a glitch in 4.3, so I'll get these notes in.
  22. Sorry, I missed part of your post. I will play with the batch edit to see if the images disappear.
  23. That error I've hopefully fixed with the latest beta. However, the error should be completely unrelated to disappearing images; really that shouldn't even be possible, so I'm baffled as to why the images are disappearing. However, I'm wondering if the cache is getting messed up.
  24. Hmm...have you tried refreshing the cache with Tools > Refresh All Images?
  25. Just put out one more beta. Hopefully this one fixes all of the issues. I'll be back on late tonight to put out the official if all is clear.
