  1. Hi @h0gg1e, currently there's really no way to lock Big Box down to restrict changing settings, etc. It is however fairly high on my list (I have the same problem with my kids). Planning to hopefully get to this very soon.
  2. Hi @teasea, if ever you have a problem updating, you can always just download the latest version from the website and install over top of your existing installation. All settings and games and everything else will be kept in that situation. I would advise making a backup just in case, however, just because it's such a big jump between 4.1 and 5.5. There may have been an issue with the 4.1 updater if I recall correctly. You can change the games folder for particular platforms under Tools > Manage Platforms. This may only be available in later versions than 4.1. I believe it should default you to the correct folder once that is set.
  3. Hi @alexs, it is high on my list, but unfortunately it isn't possible for the moment. I'm hoping to get that feature in very soon.
  4. Yes, I recommend Xpadder as well. I plan to implement full customizable controller overrides like that eventually, but it is unfortunately a ways out. One option would be to use the platform AutoHotkey scripts, but Xpadder will be a lot easier.
  5. These all look really great, @Zombeaver. Seems like I need to allow for image packs or something so people can choose and switch easily. :)
  6. @b4btec, let us know if you're still having issues.
  7. Thanks, Ribbit. Can you try with the latest beta? To be honest I can't remember if I've fixed anything related since then or not.
  8. Oh man, I was running the betas for a long time. It felt like the whole system would reinstall itself every two weeks.
  9. Another new beta is out, this time with EmuMovies support for the Download Images and Metadata wizard. Testing is appreciated. @Maddoc1007, thanks; I will do my best to get it into the official version. @CliveBarker, I made a change that should help with name recognition, but I'm not sure to what extent. If anyone can test how the results compare to the standard EmuMovies media downloader, that would be much appreciated. It should at least be as accurate as the EmuMovies app. Clive, I'll let you know when 5.6 is ready for translation. :)
  10. New beta is out to fix the Spanish translation on the download images form. Keep in mind that portions of that form have not yet been translated so some of it will still be in English. :)
  11. Hi guys, I remember that issue from a while ago, but I thought I had fixed it. What version are you running Ribbit?
  12. Thanks everyone. @Maddoc1007, @DOS76 is right; I added that restriction to fix bugs where people were ending up with corrupt LaunchBox.xml files because they started up two instances in the same location and didn't realize it. However if they're in two separate folders it should be allowed, I hadn't thought of that. I'll see if I can at least add a command line parameter to allow it. Thanks @Gatosoft for the report on the Spanish translation, I'll get that fixed soon. :)
  13. Yes, MAMEUI works fine, but I've noticed that settings can be extremely finicky between different versions of MAME/MAMEUI. I'm not sure how it works or how the settings storage is different between them but try to hunt down the setting in the MAMEUI interface. I've had similar issues where MAME works fine but MAMEUI (in the same folder) doesn't because it somehow has different settings.
  14. New beta is out again to hopefully fix the platform issues at least. I'm gonna have to be crafty I think in order to improve the EmuMovies name detection, since they're handling pretty much all of that via the API. That said, it's probably worth a shot to see what can be done there. Thanks for helping me test @Beruchan13. Let me know how this release fares for you. :)
  15. Thanks @Beruchan13, I'm noticing those issues as well. I think I just have some matching issues to resolve; I'll be back at it later tonight, so hopefully I can fix them sooner rather than later.
  16. Alright, new beta is finally out; we finally have EmuMovies support. It is currently only implemented in the single game Add/Edit dialog; I haven't gotten it to work in the importers or the batch updater, but that should be coming soon. Any testing you can do with the updated Download Images/Media from Add/Edit would be much appreciated. Also fixed in this beta: The updated Add/Edit Emulator dialog had some significant presentation issues with the Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese translations Threading conflicts were ocassionally occurring after save operations due to the new threading performance improvements Check boxes in Big Box were not displaying for custom and old-school Windows themes
  17. It should support both options; it will work anywhere you want to put it. LaunchBox automatically makes all folder/file paths relative, so if you put it in the folder, it will be portable. If not, it won't. :)
  18. Thanks @DOS76, will look into these. :)
  19. Hi @Zombeaver, thanks for this report. I have seen that error before, but it's been elusive. I'll see if I can take another look at it. :)
  20. Hi @edsonlima88, it's on my list for the next beta. However the fix wasn't as simple as I was hoping, but it is at the top of my list.
  21. Awesome; sorry for the delay, @Wattoo. I'll get the updates into the next beta. :)
  22. An overlay has come up many times before; I can definitely see it being really useful but it's almost certainly a challenge to implement. I do have it on my list, so it's one of those things that I'll likely get to eventually, but have a million things to do in the mean time. Show LaunchBox is supposed to focus Big Box already if Big Box is open; if it's loading up LaunchBox then I'll have to take a look at it and see what's going on. You could always come up with a custom AutoHotkey script, yes; short of an actual overlay you could probably do everything with that that I could do with LaunchBox itself.
  23. I don't plan to separate it out because of the ease of distribution as-is; I want to keep it all together. However, I plan on adding options to use an external ScummVM installation instead, and of course in that case the one in the EXE would not be extracted or used.
  24. Oic, interesting. Sure, I'll add a to-do to allow disabling the logo. :)
