  1. Very nice. Looking at the current beta voting results, seems people are favoring the user-contributable metadata system. So hopefully at some point you'll be able to batch upload your metadata and images to share.
  2. Basically, if you keep everything (games and emulators included) within your LaunchBox folder, you can copy it/move it anywhere and everything will still just work. Copying the folder is the only thing you have to do.
  3. Thanks, rad. Good idea; I'll add it to my list.
  4. Nice Brad. Font is just simple Open Sans.
  5. Awesome, welcome rad, and thanks for the purchase!
  6. Lol, nope, don't mind at all! Details are good and help me solve the problem. I understand how some devs get pretty worn out taking feedback from users, but in all honesty I'm just tickled pink to have so many great users. This is what I loathe, however: DAMMIT, YOUR APP DOESN'T WORK Gee, thanks. I'll totally fix that. Yes, I get those emails. And spreading the word of LaunchBox is always appreciated! Thanks Kamyk!
  7. The list view is just a details view with more focus on the game details in a list than the box art. The custom themes is just to make all the windows in LaunchBox work with the custom themes like the main window does. Currently, only the main window is themed; dialogs (like Add/Edit) are not. The customization/scripting system is currently not fully defined, but the basic goal would be to allow you to run custom scripts to do whatever you wanted for custom keyboard shortcuts or game controller buttons. This is still pretty open-ended; I don't expect it to get much votes, but I included it just to get people thinking and get feedback on the idea from the community.
  8. By the way, the voting system is currently only available in the beta release, though it's working great. I expect once the official 4.7 hits we'll get lots of results.
  9. http://api.launchbox-app.com/ConfirmVote.aspx 2, 4, and 5, as they appear there? I don't think there are any real forum topics on them yet, but I'm more than willing to contribute to them if you want to get them started.
  10. Ah, sounds like a glitch! I didn't intend for it to work that way, good find. I'll take a look and get the fix in the next version.
  11. Hi thebatusi, welcome. Typically, there's not much I can do to circumvent over-zealous anti-virus programs. Have you tried temporarily disabling Kaspersky completely? That error message is pretty clear, so I'm guessing Kaspersky is blocking the web request separately from the app itself.
  12. Hi shinra, the voting system comes up after you hide the Welcome dialog (click the "don't show this again for this version" check box) and then restart LaunchBox. I need to add a menu item for it; right now it only comes up in that situation. It might also not show up for new installs; can't remember if I limited it to upgraded installs or not.
  13. Welcome kamyk, thanks for chiming in paladin. Perhaps you two can compare emulator settings? That's most likely what I would figure is going on here. I'm adding new emulator settings all the time, but I haven't added (or tried) any of the emulators mentioned above, as of yet.
  14. Good news, guys; I have a solution in place for translations. Had some time tonight, and was curious, so we have a plan. I have most of the error messages into the translation system, but I still have a long ways to go to work in the forms and such. That said, Clive, I have what you'd need in order to get started translating things. Send me an email (anything@launchbox-app.com) and I'll get you hooked up. Thanks again, Clive.
  15. That's awesome, Clive. Thanks for helping to get the word out. There are a number of things I still need to do in order to make translations possible for the app, but it should be on my short list, especially now that you're willing to translate. I'll see if I can get support for translations in soon. I basically have to pull out all of the language into a separate file and then provide a way to insert different files, so it's not an easy endeavor, but would definitely be worthwhile.
  16. Okay, great. Yeah, that's what I figured. I'm hoping my latest change fixed it; do let me know if you ever see it happen again. From what I can tell, it is extremely sporadic, and happens at random because of random failures with the Windows API.
  17. I see, cool. That could definitely be a cool feature to add. Probably wouldn't want to completely replace the current view, but still, does make a lot of sense. Added to my list, thanks scree.
  18. Thanks guys, hopefully I can get to this soon.
  19. Thanks for the purchase, DOS76; hope everything else has been smooth for you.
  20. Yup, you got it. Also, just to note if anyone else stumbles on this page, you can batch edit a series of games to change their platform just by selecting all the games, right-clicking, and selecting Edit.
  21. Hi Clive, I do need to get that implemented, one way or another. Right now for Steam I use the Steam configuration files, but that only works for installed games. I know that there is a way to use the Steam API to do it, though, so I have it on my list to get that working with Steam. Per Origin and GOG, I'm not sure if it's even possible. I'll do some more research at some point to see if there's any kind of an API (or file system file) I can use. Thanks, Jason
  22. Ha, nice, thanks for the solution donarumo. I do have this on my list to allow greater customization of what images to use as box art; I'll try and move it up higher on the list. Thanks, Jason
  23. Diving into the code, this one *might* be a tough one to solve. I believe (my guess is) it's happening when trying to parse the icons for the additional applications (and DOSBox, etc.). It's using a low-level Windows API call in order to do this, which is the reason why it's such a challenge. I did fix the signature of the method, though, so I'm hoping, with luck, that the issue might be resolved. I'm putting out a new beta in a few minutes; Paladin, can you test and see if the issue is fixed? Let me know if you need help downloading the beta. Thanks, Jason
  24. Hi paladin, thanks for this tip; I was not aware that was happening. I'm curious if this might be related to another issue I'm seeing, any chance you can screenshot me the error message? When it happens, do you get the error dialog with the "Report Error" button or do you see a different dialog? Are you able to keep using LaunchBox after it happens? Hopefully I can get this issue fixed quickly. Thanks, Jason
