  1. Well maybe we still can, but it depends on how those are played. Even if we integrated WinAmp or VLC for Audio would it still play with those plugins on your system or would we also need to include some sort of system to play them as well? If they are proprietary formats (like PCM or something) I remember playing some NES and SNES ones on WMP with the codec packs installed. Generally these codec packs solve these issues for WMP, but it's been a very long time. Even with video and WMP we still usually have to have users install something like K-Lite Standard. It's been such a long time since I checked, and I don't think the files I was talking about are like the ones you have. A bit more info on the file and you can still request this feature on our BitBucket page. I would have mentioned this already but you didn't let me know about these special files, so I assumed you meant the regular music we download through EmuMovies or regularly supplied mp3's.
  2. Of course, sorry I can't be of too much help here, I just simply haven't done this myself.
  3. Yes, but it depends on what you changed? Did you just change drives? For example from D:/ to F:/? Or was it the folder they're all inside of? So "D:/Emulators/_____" to "D:/Games/_____"? As long as it's simple you can edit your LaunchBox.xml with Notepad++ to achieve the change. Close out LaunchBox and backup your xml file, then open it with Notepad++ and use Ctrl + F, then find and replace. If you are just changing a path for a single system, the folder that all of your other sub folders are held in or your drive letter it can be changed this way. I've done this several times. This only works though if you aren't changing each folder the roms and emulators are held in. If all of your games are held within your LaunchBox folder (you chose to have have LaunchBox move them), then you can just move LaunchBox as it's portable. If you want to go from Relative paths (letting LB move the roms) to them being outside of the LaunchBox folder then you'd have to re-import. It's worth noting that even my above method for using Notepad++ is more powerful, but you can also delete your games and re-import them without downloading any media and they'll all import really fast and all of the media will still be associated to each game as long as the names aren't changing.
  4. Glad you found out the answer @djweevil. :P
  5. SSD's don't need the same treatment as HDD's, and actually if you do that it'll make your SSD worse off, so be careful! Advanced System Care has all of that stuff plus more, and as I pay for the Pro version of it I get all of the tools.
  6. Thanks 32-Bit GPU (you don't have a location so this was all that I had besides "Online"!) Thank you for the kind words @synchromesh, we appreciate it!
  7. So the yearly license gives you updates for a year, but the program will still work after that point at the version you last had. If you upgrade past your year your premium will go away. If you want to upgrade to a lifetime license then you just pay the $30 difference, even after your year has expired. If you change hard drives or computers, your entire LaunchBox install is portable, just move it. Say your games are on drive F:/, and LaunchBox was on drive D:/. If you move LaunchBox from D:/ to... H:/, then everything should work just fine. If you move your games from F:/ to H:/, you'd need to open your LaunchBox.xml and use Notepad++ to Find and Replace the old drive letter with the new driver letter. So you'd search "F:/" and replace with "H:/", just to keep up with the example. If you left LaunchBox move your roms in to it's own structure (totally optional), then your games will use what's called relative pathing. So if your games are in the LB directories and you move LaunchBox, since it's portable, everything should work just fine. I personally keep all my games outside of LaunchBox myself, so if I move my roms (I am working on getting a bigger drive), I either change the new drive letter to the old one or edit my XML. There is a backup feature available, but if you have a giant library it can take a very long time to package everything up, so just moving LaunchBox works. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask!

    Phoenix

No offense to the Pheonix team, but no they're not. We're in a completely different field then they are, and that's not me saying we're better or anything like that, I literally just mean we have two completely different goals. RetroArch already works perfectly within LaunchBox. While things could always be improved for ANYTHING we do, we already run with RA near perfect.
  9. All of these should be routed through Arcade / MAME for the Platform, except that it is currently bugged and it wont import any games. We already know about the bug and platform changes are coming. These requests should go in our LaunchBox Games Database BitBucket (the BitBucket link at the top of the Database pages). There have already been a few requests too, so vote on ones that already exist first then make your requests if it doesn't exist.
  10. RetroArch and MAME generally used what's called Overlays. I haven't really bothered myself, but a quick search of "mame overlays" returned quite a bit.

    Phoenix

Someone revived Pheonix? Pun not intended. I saw screenshots of this a while ago as being the same thing as they're claiming it is now, but no one used it or liked it if I recall so they stopped development. I could be wrong, I had read some old things about it.
  12. It's true what systems can become lean and mean, but someone else's solution isn't necessarily wrong @Imgema, we don't know either users daily needs. In a perfect world, people would have decent machines no more than 2-3 years old then most problems would be fixed. What someone needs out of a machine and what they have / can afford are very different. Let's also keep in mind raw speed and numbers don't amount to anything. A less powerful later model can put to shame an older model that is "twice as fast", at least when you're looking at numbers. Generally, users have a lot going at Start up, and have AV software or active monitoring software going on that generally reduces performance. My general recommendation in this position is to get Advanced System Care, Malwarebytes Antimalware and use them. ASC's first page on scanning is awesome, I use 3 of the options almost daily (I can get screenshots if anyone is curious), that cleans up the machine, and other check boxes I use every so often. Driver Booster in the Tool Box is amazing, so is the Start up manager. The Uninstaller also helps when removing things to get rid of crap that the programs leave behind. If the install of Windows is just older, that + older hardware + software may just make a slower experience.
  13. Not really @Imgema, at least not at this point in time because we haven't had a reason to change it or offer an alternative. The only reason why we have two choices for Video is because people were having some issues with WMP, but now just as many people are having issues with VLC. We just use the playback engines temporarily while the music is played, and while the video is played. The lucky part about the music is that wav and mp3's don't require codecs which is part of the reason people had issues with running WMP for video, they were generally just missing codecs. Otherwise, there is really no difference to WMP compared to something like Winamp (which is what I use).
  14. I found this with an easy search of "magic iso bat commands". http://magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-mount-iso-image.htm
  15. Well it was all @Zombeaver here, but thank you anyways! If you've got anymore questions, feel free to ask!
  16. Unfortunately no, we don't support Windows XP anymore partly because of Microsoft. Not only did they end support, which has to happen eventually (so it is completely vulnerable to attack now) but our entire frame work can't really be ran on Windows XP anymore. We use the latest .Net which requires at least Windows Vista to run, and even that will be gone soon too. I do apologize, but it would take a great amount of work to back port to an earlier version of .Net, and things would be severely broken. Jason is the only coder and we need to keep moving forward.
  17. At least you figured it out after. If you need any more help, our tutorials cover most every popular system.
  18. There will be images that do need to get re-downloaded and of course the new categories will need to get filled in as best as they can. The process doesn't move carts from what ever category they'd have been in before (probably fan art?) in to the cart folder, so there will be stuff like that that needs to be re-downloaded. I let mine re-download for about a day myself.
  19. It could be helpful, maybe overclock it a bit if you have decent cooling. The DDR2 RAM could also stand a bit of an upgrade, but I assume your motherboard is limiting here since you're sticking with the Core2 Series. CPU can help, the hard drive LaunchBox is located on (SSD's, SATA3's and USB3's are best, but again, your motherboard), and you can try turning off the RAM Cache. This will rely more on on your HDD but some users report that turning it off increases performance for older systems. If you are trying to view BigBox then there is also a quality selector for the various views to reduce the box art a bit for performance.
  20. If you need help with setting up RetroArch, our channel has tutorials for almost every single major system, including the PS1. Click the link in my signature or the tutorials button at the top of the forums. I would suggest RetroArch too. It's a bit daunting at first, but all of the same features and more exist.
  21. I'm sorry that you're angry, so help me understand a bit more. Are you having issues with your Account on the forums or database, are you having issues download LaunchBox all together or are you having issues installing LaunchBox?
  22. Would you be so kind as to upload it to Mediafire or Google Drive @Awaken Jenova? I've never heard of this provider.
