Yea I agree with the thought of spending too much time tinkering as well, I am guilty of that in some respects. This is why I got for the "increased internal resolution" look on everything. It does exist for 2D games, but it's not the same thing as what it means for 3D games. They use the same name and mean two different thing's. In RetroArch I think the Pixellate shader gets as close as I possibly can to increasing internal res for 2D games. I want the art to stay the same, I just don't want it to be blurry when I run the window in x3 to x6 for it's resolution (depends on the system).

I think the Database already merges these... but I could be dead wrong. I'll ask Jason if anything is in place, if not I am very sure it is the plan to add that.

I personally have the latest .173 MAME pack, but like Monkus said an older one can work but your best chance is the latest. We have a MAME tutorial on our channel if you need help setting it up. You can get there by clicking the link in my signature. Keep in mind that the tutorial is only for setting it up, I don't show users where or how to download roms.

Right click LB or the table, go to properties. Go to the comparability tab and check "Run as Admin".

It could potentially be XML corruption but a fresh XML would be needed or you need to remove that game entry from the XML and re-import that game.

When you edit a game in LaunchBox there will be a blue link in the top right that has an ID number.

Could be more of the image bug that SNES has been having. Edit one of the games, click the blue database link in the top right. Open the images for the database. What is displayed and what is shown when you click on it changes (the bug), then what gets downloaded is what's really there. I had to go through and delete what looked like double images but when you clicked on it it was completely wrong.

I think it was actually, I just forgot about it. Or Jason added it, but I don't think he did.

It could be possible that some games got lost...? Jason will have to double check and check on the backend.

There is no real way for you to know, just make sure the packs or the websites you get stuff from is half way decent and if others have had good experiences with them. Your best bet starting off would easily be No Intro packs. I would start there as it will give you A LOT of what you would want starting off.

Yea it's pretty much a normal PC but you can decide how you want to set it up. I see some users work with a headless server and it ends up working where some people still need a monitor. Servers in your own home is a revelation for computers though. Very handy.

Yes you will have games that don't get metadata because they're not in the Database. If you see games without images then they can likely be it.

Yep, I think it should be called "Browser Based" or "Browser" or what have you. I think if we broke it down farther than that it might be getting to specific? Like Java is already PC, look at Minecraft. We don't say "oh that's Java", we say "oh that's Windows". So Flash and HTML5 I think would be just fine as Browser, but what does everyone else think?

I understand, but Front and Back should be split folders. They shouldn't be in the same location. Here is one of my image folders: https://i.imgur.com/2OLgQVt.png If your images are PNG, then yea they wont overwrite the JPG files, so yea that is a concern. I don't think there will really be a good way to handle that other than deleting the images that are duplicates that you don't want.

Nope, LaunchBox deals with jpeg and png files just fine. Shouldn't matter.
