  1. Oh if you have data caps then don't worry about! We certainly don't want users hitting their caps because of us. We appreciate the kindness but we don't want users to have to pay out their ass because they wanted to upload some images.
  2. On a side note, good screen shot Developers / Publishers. :P She looks like she is having fun. :P Yea, commenting will be in soon so we can at least give reasons for rejection. Sometimes people may not notice, but this is why we are here. So yea, if you do make submissions just try and keep an eye out.
  3. Well sometimes the Publisher and Developer can be the same, but in this case yea that should be fixed certainly. So we'll probably need to add new Publishers / Developers regularly.
  4. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying what Atari did back then was good it was shit, but if you can even find the right information as to the developer back then that is not how it was displayed.
  5. No it's alright, as long as you deleted then uploaded the right images It's done now. Using the regular add function is fine, but if you use the Edit then Replace functions it compares the images for us Moderators so that it is easier to see at a glance if the image you're uploading is better, not to mention if you just use the delete image function we just think someones trying to delete the images. There is a page that shows pending changes and if you get anything that is rejected or you replace any images from here on out you'll be good. Again, don't worry about it. It's also a lot easier that you're willing to read and understand it. We get people all the time who ignore everything else around them, make their changes or requests of us then just leave. They don't bother to do any checking nor do they care to follow up. So at the very least you're way ahead of the average user. I also want to point out there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, we can't expect every user to be as invested as some of us, but it certainly makes our jobs a bit easier when we get nice people like yourself.
  6. Use the Edit function when you click an image instead of the Big +, you can then upload an image as a replacement. Otherwise It's not that big of a deal, so no worries.
  7. Yea, that was part of it, but also I have a Lifetime license, I took myself out so someone else can get it in case that did happen.
  8. I just recently bought a replacement monitor and TV. I upgraded my monitor from 22" (or 23") to 27" and my 19" TV to 23". My second monitor is a TV for recording purposes.
  9. Yea im gonna try and remember to take some pictures as well to share. I am happy. My machine is finally being retired... partially. I run this thing like a mule and it's been 7 years. The Motherboard, CPU and Hard Drive are the only original parts left. I put 12GB of RAM and a new GPU in my current machine. I am jumping up from 1st gen i7's to 6th gen... I am so excited.
  10. I might go SLI in the future, but I also have lots of HDD's and plenty of USB devices, so I just wanted the overhead just in case. After I build it I might add some more fans too, it just depends. My wife is getting my old PC too, so she's happy. Her current PC sucks ass. We have to put back in my GTX 460 for the time being until we can get her a new GPU, but she's super happy.

    Oh im not disputing you on the Scanlines, the hardware and games were created with that in mind, but If you had to have me choose all 3 I would choose a clean upscale any day of the week.

    Pixellate is the closest Shader that exists. I love the function on DosBox Daum, it's essentially just a "x5" option. That's all Pixellate is doing. You've seen the options x5xbr, x5hq, then just x5. It's just a clean upscale, Pixellate is the closest possible. I don't use it for 3D games though, that is a lot trickier and some Cores in RA have an internal resolution option like Mupen.
  15. I am going to suggest two for consoles that have RetroArch support. I fully recommend RA obviously, but I want to include stand alone's for users who are... more stubborn. As for mGBA in RetroArch: In RetroArch I use mGBA (or VBA-M... I honestly can't remember right this second) for GBA and Gambatte for GameBoy and GameBoy Color. I did a tutorial on this.

  18. The BitBuket pages are great for us to track requests and bugs, but not necessarily to discuss them. There was a huge issue if you look at current Genre's in LaunchBox that the names of the same genre fluctuate wildly, so taking away the ability for users to input their own Genre is probably best. Granted, yes we should probably expand the list, but we probably wont allow users to edit it them selves.
  19. We actually don't know if we want users to put in their own Publisher and Developer, there are pro's and con's to each. As for what we can currently do regarding them, we provide the information that they provided. Back in those days you didn't know specific Developers because they didn't want them poached to other companies, stupid but the Publisher and Developer was Atari. If they publicized "So and so Developer" then maybe we could put the specific developer. It's not that fair of a comparison, but we don't put Cliff Blazinski as the dev for Doom, we put Id. Granted, a lot more than 1 person worked on Doom, but you get the point. I am open to suggestions about this though. It's a similar idea as to why we don't assign ratings to games before rating boards were created. We're not here to create the history but to represent history.

    I also want to point out that these consoles have the ability to display a full digital signal, meaning the console natively outputs a clean sharp image. The video is passed through a scaler for real TV's, it was a necessity of the times. All of the TV's were analog with tubes and nothing was a digital signal. Now day's that's less of a big deal and why you see the old consoles being modded or given ways to create the sharp look that they can natively output like the RGB series points out. Personally when it comes to emulation, I scale the emulator to x2 - x5 (depends on the internal resolution), then on 2D games I use RetroArch's Pixellate Shader. It gives me bold lines and I can see the beautiful Pixel Art. It's the equivalent of turning up the internal resolution on PCSX2 or PPSSPP.
  21. I am going to go through and update our Default Emulator list this week. It's safe to say we whole heartedly suggest RetroArch here, and we arrived to that decision on our own. A lot of my tutorials show case RA instead of the standalone's. What we recommend and the default RA command line parameters will be changing soon though. mGBA for the GameBoy line for example needs to replace VBA, and tons of others.
  22. Yea we need to put checks in on the Database asking users "Are you Sure" boxes. They suck overall, but they could prevent a lot of this.
  23. weltall said I have used these in the past and I just have to suggest to avoid Final Fantasy 8 and 9. The image ends up being a DVD5 image, which ePSXe can't read at least and either the user will have to use an old 1.70 version of the emulator or not be able to play it. I am not sure if these are more then these two, but with these two I ended having problems, which made me stop using these kits. But they are quite useful if the game you are playing does not have a save during the swap disk phase. If it does, I honestly prefer to save there, close the game and start the next disk. Save States also work too.
