Unless they recently changed it you had to have a Plex pass for consoles, it's still the case with Android certainly.
-
No, importing anything you want is not limited to BigBox, you can always import what ever you want, it's just not all content is easily imported in bulk. You'll either have to import something as MS-DOS and use the Bulk Edit wizard and select "Use MS-DOS" and say no so that it launches with the system default application or you can also add anything you want with the Add button in the bottom right hand corner of LB. Personally, I would never use LaunchBox or BigBox this way. They're simply not meant for this. It can do the job certainly but we don't scrape Audio or Video sources so it would all be blank, and if you have the year in your music or video you would need to remove the ( ) around it for it to import correctly. We're just not built for it. Maybe in the future we will be, but currently we have other plans. As for an alternative, I would go with Kodi as my first choice then Plex as a second choice. Plex is great for also streaming your PC content to other devices, but in the case of PS4 or Xbox One you need to pay for Plex Pass. Universal Media Server is what I use to stream content from my PC's to consoles or other devices it supports. I have used Plex in the browser of my Wii U, it surprisingly works, and I've used an app that I bought called Bubble UPNP for Android in conjunction with Plex.

Yea if it's working that's great. A ccd and cue sheet are essentially the same thing with a different file extension and internal format. They're ripped from different programs. I have Mednafen PCE fast and Mednafen SuperGrafx both working with ccd's and cue sheets. There are some games which are having trouble loading no matter what core or file is loaded, and I am unsure why. TurboGrafx 16 games with the SuperGrafx core are supposed to also play "better" or some games are enhanced with it as well? I read it offhandedly in the past so I am unsure how faithful that is, but the core info does say it loads regular PCE games.
-
Drybonz said For Turbografx CD you want to use the Mednafen PCE core... it is really great, even better than the old Magic Engine from back in the day, IMO. Also, the .bin/cues that work are usually about 500mb. The smaller ones that you find for download or the iso mp3/wav format almost never work with anything. The SuperGrafx core is working great and if the PCE core isn't working for someone what other choice do they have. Not to mentin the PCE Core is also working for me now in most cases. The file size also doesn't really matter, the size of the game is the size of the game. I have games ranging from 100mb to 700mb, these discs held about 700-800mb total. They just natural vary in size depending on the game.
-
Just checked, the SuperGrafx core doesn't even say it loads cue sheets, but it does load cue sheets and ccd files, the PCE core on the other hand is more accurate: supported_extensions = "pce|cue|ccd"

This program is slightly different then the one I am using to downloaded, but it's the same software name by the same developer.. but I edited the name so instead of MakeCue.exe it says MakeCue img .exe. This way I can use the windows search, search for "img" (without the quotes this time) and just drag and drop in an easy to view window instead of loading it up in ISOBuster. This worked in 1 test I made but I am unsure if it's a long term solution. It stays using the img so no long conversion times, and it's 1 view so it cuts out some time. http://cue-maker.software.informer.com/

Riffman81 said SentaiBrad said For TurboGrafx CD Games, last night I finally got them working. Not only were most of mine corrupted (Emuparadise sucks apparently with these) so I got an entire set of them that should be perfect, I started using the mednafen_supergrafx_libretro.dll for TurboGrafx CD games, and it works perfectly. I also have my games in .img and .ccd because that is how most of the set works and the RetroArch cores read .ccd file extensions just fine. I am also using RetroArch 1.3.2 and the most updated cores (for the record, unless your download ships with cores, if you use the online updater they are the most updated regardless of your RetroArch version). Yeah, Emuparadise is a gamble most of the time, just my opinion. I usually don't download from them much anymore. I have 2 complete sets now of NEC PC Engine-CD games. My original set is in .img .ccd format and I couldn't get those to load with the mednafen pce core, so that's why I converted the entire set over to .bin .cue using ISOBuster. The .bin .cue set loads fine and all games play. I will try the mednafen supergrafx core and see if it'll read the .ccd as you said before I convert my TurboGrafx-CD games... but I've had nothing but problems with the pce core trying to load them in the .ccd .img format. I'm still learning RetroArch as I've always been partial to using the stand alone emulators. Is there a way you can view file extensions that are accepted in RetroArch by each core? Is that info in core information? The RetroArch forums aren't much help... it's almost like they expect you to know and not ask. Yea that info is in core information if core info exists. Load a core and load the core info tab or go in to the info folder inside your RA folder and open those files with Notepad++ or something. I don't mind using ISOBuster, that's my suggested method here on the site if you need to, but ALL of the games I grabbed are in ccd / img formats and that would take forever 1 by 1. I found software thankfully that moves everything up 1 directory. It was ..\Games\Game name here\media\game files and I wanted to cut out the media folder. A lot of suggestions were scripts and PowerShell commands but I found a portable app called Suction. Just double click it, drag and drop all of the folders that you want to literally suction and the files at the end of the file path all get moved up 1 folder and the new empty folder gets deleted. http://suction.en.softonic.com/ I just double checked too, just launched a game via ccd using the SuperGrafx core.

Yea I've already maxed out my cart... I've got a game problem. The sad part is too, some of these I can play through RetroArch or PCSX2 or PPSSPP... except some of these are 99 cents... how can I not?!?!?!

Yea, I've honestly never had these issues. >.< I feel bad for you because this sucks really bad. -
Yes. Several weeks ago we found out that we need to implement this, so it is on it's way. You can search for this stuff and vote for it on our BitBucket page too: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/179/big-box-doesnt-see-steam-link-controllers

I got Strider some time back because it was on PS+. I am glad I got some money on PSN from my credit card's rewards points (It's a Playstation card) so... I might need to pick up new games that will likely never get played. xD I got so much stuff...

Yes and no. There are ways to track links depending on the service or link but most sites don't offer this. I know bit.ly does if we created an account, created the link and then bought the access to those statistics. YouTube has this somewhat built in into their Analytics, but only on our video's amd it used to be a lot better. So it would show what external website links to our video or has it embedded. You could also use Google Caching or the Google Spider to probably get some results, but all combined this would still potentially be very inaccurate.

Yea, Circo (the mod over there) told me to post here... I should have listened. I am glad you guys are fighting for our right to paaaaaaaaaarty.... Sorry Beastie Boys are stuck in my head right now. xD

The Mednafen PS1 core also has internal resolution scaling now too, but it's still in early stages as it lags severely because of software rendering with it. Once OpenGL is implemented it will have scaling with OpenGL. Yea, I am super excited. Another great announcement for it last night that I saw was the inclusion of PCem. I messed around with standalone PCem for a long time, and I am just waiting for it to mature. Essentially it's an emulator for Windows 9x era of games. So games like Dino Crisis or Clock Tower I'll be able to play well and not in extremely small windows or with some graphical glitches.

I checked my usage for boredom too. I think it's not counting right, LaunchBox should be way bigger. I just got an EmuMovies Premium account for being a content contributor there so I downloaded my entire library of movies and music. xD So I think these values are way lower than they should be. https://i.imgur.com/xcLlDer.png https://i.imgur.com/JSwy740.png -
Anyone use software for recording your Gaming action? (Favorite?)
SentaiBrad replied to CadetStimpy's topic in Monkeys
Skip Raptr, and Shadow play only works if you have specific Nvidia GPU's and play the game at certain resolutions. OBS I use primarily for streaming and recording the tutorials because it's easy to get the entire screen. I also have it stream and record when I stream so I have a backup of the video just in case something breaks on Twitch's or YouTube's end. Otherwise I used to FRAPS but is hasn't been updated in some time. I switched to DXTory and using specific codecs I have slightly better performance, similar enough quality (we're talking about several thousand or even over 100k bitrates so when I say similar I mean from indiscernible to indiscernible quality levels) and a decent drop in file size. A 30 min video in FRAPS was about 100-150GB bigger than what I can get in DXTory, so I can record more at once. -
I've also read that it can impact performance on which version of MAME you use, which fork of MAME or the specific game. So just something to keep in mind if you get performance drops.

For screen capture I use a combination of OBS or DXTory. I used to use FRAPS, but I got DXTory to have insane quality and lower file sizes since FRAPS isn't being updated anymore. -
Yea Jason builds it all, he's good at it too. Yea people now day's have website building easy. SquareSpace is an amazing website for that sort of thing. What do you mean by link a name? You mean like @SentaiBrad or @Jason? All you do is use @ then the users user name, so @CadetStimpy. Sometimes spaces do and don't work too or in Jason's case it's just @ Jason since he changed his name afterwards.

The link was broken Monkus so I fixed it up for you.

fromlostdays said In other words, yes, share away. There will be official channels for it soon as well within LaunchBox, and its going to be amazing. Certainly share, but I don't want users to spend all their free time packing up images, uploading and making things perfect when we have the tools to make it a whole lot easier right around the corner. Yea, please share what ever you feel like on the forums (as long as it's legal) but I also know first hand the amount of time that can get drained away in a day by this stuff. xD Just yea, know that the tools are coming. People will be able to use the artwork of the entire community and most will probably never even know that it was entirely community driven.
