You currently can't download the media from the Database like that, however, you can click on a platform of your choice on the left, click a game, press Ctrl + A to highlight all of your games. Then, go to Tools -> Download Metadata and Images. When asked, choose the second option. You can download media from other places, as long as the name of the media matches the name of the game in LB or the Rom file, then restart LB, it should automatically attach. Otherwise the Download Metadata and Media tool is the way to go.

Oh sweet, then RetroArch isn't picky about it's order of operations, generally it is.
-
No, his command line is correct. This is how I have set mine up, and showed it off in the tutorial and It works, I just tested it.
-
Yea, for Naomi games too, you'll need a different emulator as well, I didn't even pick up on that. I gave them some more info in PM as well, but Naomi is currently not working, you'll need demul and a specific set of Naomi games. @DOS76 made a post of his command line and set up to get Demul working with Naomi and other sets, I don't have it off hand.

So it will only work with Bsnes, but I think your BIOS are off. I see the file is 1kb, but it needs to be 256kb, and needs to be named "sgb.boot.rom". I also use this BIOS but the SGB2 rom, and it works fine.

LaunchBox for MS-DOS Special Edition 1.0 Discussion
SentaiBrad replied to Jason Carr's topic in Features
You are insane. -
That's MAME .181, but that's not a rom set, that's just the emulator. You'll need to find the MAME Rom set, which you'll have to search for. So you'll want a MAME .181 spit rom set.
-
I appreciate it, but it is all @Jason Carr, I didn't code LB.

I removed that link, please don't post links to roms. Otherwise, search for a MAME .181 split rom set, that's all you need along with MAME .181. It sounds like it's crashing because of a BIOS mismatch, or a MAME mismatch. Grab a set and mame version that match that is at least .178 onwards (there was a big change for .178 for some arcade boards).
-
So I decided to try this, and the Japanese MAME Roms are importing on top of my existing MAME imports.
-
As long as your emulator is called MAME, it should automatically do it. Otherwise, the second to last screen has a check box that says "Force MAME Importer", that'll do it too.
-
So, if you download a MAME Rom Pack (MAME .181 Split rom pack), you don't need to add in BIOS. MAME also doesn't need to be in your LB Emulators folder if you don't want it to be. Otherwise, with the pack in the default roms folder, and using the MAME Importer, it should work. Uncheck "Use file name only" too, I was having issues with that recently. Games weren't loading until I unchecked that (at least for MESS).
-
You could try importing your MAME games again, and choosing the same check boxes but trying a different region. I haven't tried this, but I'm actually going to now, that would be something good to know. Otherwise, the cleanest method is what Derek suggest, which is to use the Additional Apps feature and add Puckman as an Additional app to Pac Man.

There are some games in the Super Famicom category though, which makes it annoying. I've had to manually scrape a few games, and the platform that pops up is Super Famicom, but the intention is for them to be merged. Overall, there are more Famicom games in the SNES platform, and the rest of the SNES games, in the SNES platform. There might even be duplicates.

Sweet, glad it's working! If you need anymore help, there are also tutorials on our channel that might help out as well. Click Tutorials at the top of the forums.

AH, yea, that's usually a missed aspect, but you're right, it is super flexible. I don't know how to rename things to make it more obvious. It's confusing, but I don't have any ideas for Jason on how to make it less so.

Which means something was off. If you have the proper files then it should work fine.
-
That's all up to Jason, but yea, it hasn't been worked on in a while.

If you set up a custom filter, you can view it by going back in to the menu and selecting the appropriate custom filters menu. There are also some more basic views that filter things down. For the most part though, I think Jason wants Nested Filters the way he's explained it to take over for both.
-
Yes, MAME standalone which has MESS integrated. I used to use MESS standalone, even after they merged, but it's having some issues and using just MAME it saves a few steps now. There are a few RetroArch cores to avoid as they're not as good as the standalones, or there are better versions. MAME is one of them (especially MESS, it's actually really stupid confusing, more so than regular RA or MESS). DS, PSP and DOS are three others to avoid. There are tons more tutorials on our channel if you need them. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB

Well, Nested Filters doesn't exist yet, and since that will replace the current filters system (since Custom Filters is buggy and crashes on large libraries) I don't know if I would want to do a tutorial on it. Filters in LaunchBox is on the left, the drop down list above your platforms. Some basic filters, then at the bottom of that list custom filters.
-
So for MSX I used RetroArch and Colecovision is using MAME.

You can click it, then go to the Database, open your account and click My Collection. All it does is show there your games, if they're on the Database. Honestly, it was meant to be way more, but at the time people were very honest in saying they did not want that stuff.
-
You're most likely missing command lines that they require. The emulators don't support loading roms directly, some require there to be some default command line parameters. For the two you mentioned, there is an MSX Tutorial on the channel, and ironically the Colecovision tutorial goes up tomorrow (Friday, the 12th, 2017) at 10AM. The MSX tutorial is a bit older, but it still totally works:
