  1. @Fromlostdays that gem on setting up the hot keys is awesome thanks for that. That information needs its own post that is sticky people can set that up on their controller. I only mapped the exit so far but plan on getting a little further into after I finish school tonight.
  2. This is why I would like to see the ability to name platforms whatever you want but assign a platform from the database to scrape from. Say you want to have a small category name NES Classic you could name it that but then in the wizard have another option to assign platform to scrape from and then you would choose Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) then LaunchBox would know where to get the data from based on your file names but you could also call your platform whatever you want.
  3. If you don't have another arcade platform you can use Ctrl+A to select all games then right click and choose edit. When the edit form opens and asks you what you want to change choose platform and type arcade. Only do this if you don't have another arcade platform or all you games will be mixed together if so. Then once you have changed the platform select all the games again and go to tools then select download metadata and images let that run then repeat the first step and change the platform back to Sega Model 2 while it isn't optimal it will definitely work to get you the metadata that is available.
  4. All the features you have up until when your license expires will still be functional.
  5. After having a few bad experiences with PNY I usually buy SanDisk but I do have a Intel drive in one of my servers.and a Samsung mSata drive that connects via PCIe in my slim desktop. SanDisk has always beeen reliable to me at the best price.

Either L "cores\fb_alpha_cps1_libretto.dll" Or replace the cps1 with cps-1. I'm not home and I don't recall exactly which it is. It would be the same for cps2. Also you can find the name of the cores from the core folder in Retroarch all you are doing is pointing it to the core file so the name in the command line will be identical to what the .dll file is named.
  7. Anyone have any experience using RA in Android? I'm having performance issues running simple cores that work great in the stand alone Android apps. Gambatte for example is struggling to play a GBC game but if I use other GBC emulators there isn't any problem playing. Is there any settings that can be tweaked that will provide better performance. I know this would probably be better for the RA forums but I figured I'd see if anyone in the community could help out before I have to go over there and ask. I would just use the stand alone's but RA is just some much nicer and more convenient than the others.
  8. I don't know if it is a typo or not but you are missing an r in reicast in what is showing in your post if that is missing from the command line that would definitely cause the issue.
  9. Personally I wouldn't want to be writing all of those temp files to your SSD over and over again that it just putting wear and tear on the drive and over the long run can shorten the life of the drive.
  10. No you are going to copy your XML that has all of your systems that you added. Then in LaunchBox you are going to go to your MAME/Arcade platform and use ctrl+A to remove only your MAME games so that only your other systems are present. Then you are going to add your MAME games to LB through the Lightspeed tool. If you do like the results you will have MAME and all of your current systems if you don't like and you put your original xml back in your LB folder you will have everything back that you have right now before you make the copy. So if you make changes and like the results its a win and if you don't like the results its a push because you still have exactly what you have now minus a little time but it should probably be much shorter than scrolling through and finding the files you don't want one at a time.
  11. No the time limit is either 5 minutes or just a minute I don't remember I've started the Zelda games that are out for it but couldn't play much in the allotted time.

Looks nice! I need to build an arcade machine.
  13. I've had them run successfully in the CD-I emulator but it is only the free demo version and you can't play long. The guy who wrote the emulator wants $35 for it and that's why I don't have it. I've tried to use it through MESS before but I didn't have any real luck.
  14. Beside going through and manually removing them I don't know of any other way. Copy your current XML file to another location and then in LaunchBox remove all the MAME games by pressing ctrl+A and then right clicking one of the files and choosing delete. Then reimport your MAME roms using the tool. All of your media and metadata will all be in the same place as before and should be associated right back. If you don't like the results that you get you can always delete your xml and bring the copy you made back into LB and everything will be back to how it was before you made the changes.
  15. I don't speak Spanish but if it was English I would just feel that the quotes don't serve any purpose. Quotes are used to quote thing and in writing code no need to use them in an instruction. If you don't recognize next as a button or back then I don't think the quotes are going to solve the problem that you may be having.
  16. I think he was referring to the images OP mentioned.

I hate the be the guy who says this because I always hated it when people said it to me but if you were to try the FB Alpha cores on RetroArch to play CPS-1, CPS-2 and NeoGeo you would never want to use Kawaks again. The video rendering is better and the controllers are usually preconfigured (I've used Bluetooth controllers where this isn't the case). If you need any help getting RA running this video will get you started and then any of the system tutorials that Brad has done will just build upon the knowledge you gained from the 1st video. Feel free to ask any questions if you still have issues.
  18. I would suggest using @Antropus' LightSpeed which is a program created to ease the process of importing MAME games into LB it is a great tool and features various filters so you can only get the games that you want into your library.
  19. Kodi (formerly XBMC) is a media center app so if you want to have a gaming console that can play music movies and TV shows all with images and metadata then you may consider Kodi as something that will complement BigBox. If you just want a gaming console then you can just skip it.
  20. LaunchBox no longer uses the GamesDB it now has its own database

    Pong Console

I used to play my cousins 2600 in the early 80s but I don't remember ever seeing one of those and they are hideously unforgettable looking.

    Altirra help?

It totally blows KAT5200 out of the water with the UI and settings. The three most common mapper settings I've come across are 32k=4 16k 2 chip=6 and 16k 1 chip=16 there are others but some that I only saw once. If you were to setup Altirra multiple times in LaunchBox say as Altirra 32k Altirra 16k2chp and then setup each instance to run the /cartmapper:"value looked for" in the command line you wouldn't need to set them for every game but you could just edit the emulator as you found games that wouldn't launch.
