  1. As soon as someone else posts you can't edit any more unless you ask Jason for special privileges once you get them the math problems go away too.
  2. @Drybonz I don't think it matters where you point it if the XML corrupts every time.
  3. Are you using the stable version or the beta? Jason just updated the program 3 times yesterday possible the tool doesn't work any more. I really don't know. I'm glad you backedup your XML I have the backups in the program but also keep my own backups around just in case I've invested way to much time to lose my setup.
  4. You can I would suggest making a copy of your XML on your own though as I believe that the program also makes one in case you run into an issue.
  5. I see that I was just confused because none of those are our own resources I've been using Wikipedia, Giant Bomb, IGN but mostly Wikipedia but to be honest I didn't know about using the show options in there until someone mentioned it yesterday. I see what you mean about them citing some unknown website but I'm saying if they were to cite their sources from the same credible sources we are using this could save us considerable time in moderating.
  6. I don't think sorting would matter for that. You would need LB to differentiate between games with the same name which it currently doesn't do if you have three games named Donkey Kong there is only one set of meta and images for it so if you change the image for one it changes the image for all. Split systems is just the easiest way to do this in my opinion.
  7. Would it be feasible to have people who are submitting their changes link the mods to citations of the proposed changes.
  8. How about a small code change LB so it would say ESRB/PEGI and users would just put in the value that applied. I really don't care one way or the other and if the code change to remove the whole line was added instead I wouldn't blink an eye. I'm just throwing out ideas.
  9. I personally want to see the systems split so I'm all for how we have it now. Try setting up two games with the same name but with different images it is possible but only if you add or subtract something from one of the titles. The new system is better overall due to the constraints of LB so until that changes I'm happy to see the systems split up Plus for Nintendo and Famicom it just makes things tidier scrolling through a combined set of ROMs is a massive undertaking.
  10. How different are the ratings and could we figure out what a certain rating in PEGI would be equivalent with an ESRB rating and still be able to fill in the data. Or maybe like an Asterisk to signify that it is PEGI without having to have a 2nd rating system taking up space in the data.
  11. I never even heard of PEGI before and as a habit ignore most rating systems anyway.
  12. I'm sure there are BitBucket tickets to expand LB's sorting capability as I've seen it asked for quite a few times over the last year.
  13. Sorry if I'm being anal about this but ESRB ratings question user has submitted Everyone but the box shows K+A (Kids + Adults) which is technically everyone how are we going about this do we want to match what the box art conveys or just approve K+A as E
  14. I saw these awhile ago and thought they were pretty amazing there are 13 images here and I know that all but the Pac-Man poster were done by an artist named Steve Thomas he has some other cool propaganda posters too I especially liked the office propaganda poster about social media.
  15. To save confusion that could probably be changed to read "Please use the Feature Request link in the header"
  16. Here is an issue I've come across The game Microcosm for Amiga CD32 trying to moderate the release date I found results on Wikipedia, Giant Bomb and IGN. Both Wikipedia and Giant Bomb list the games more lumped together with all the systems that they were released and they offer an initial release date but from reading the text it sounds like the game was released at different times on different platforms but not that can be verified. IGN has it listed as being released in 1994.
  17. Yeah feature based tutorials would be cool for both LaunchBox and RetroArch.
  18. How about a handheld NeoGeo Pocket, WonderSwan and Lynx episode.
  19. You have to pick the hammer up in order to smash the barrels that or you have to jump over them.
  20. We still need an option to browse through all the games that are up for moderation. Instead of having one you are unsure that you would like to skip and see more options.
  21. Yeah I did the same. I'm definitely not going to approve any titles that leave out part of the name that's as plain as day on the box that would be a quick way to a sloppy half ass database.
  22. I was just doing some moderating and boy it the game Arctic: Active Rail Playing Game popular on there. I know we are to verify info before accepting but I've seen a few name changes where the box is being displayed and you can plainly see the title so I've been accepting them off of the strength of the box alone I hope that is acceptable. Also I would like to discuss if we the moderators would like to agree on a standard for certain things like games with secondary titles should have colons ie The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker or in another case what are your feeling on say Disney games or Pixar where some games have Disney's or Pixar in the title and on the box while some have it on the box but the meta doesn't have the Disney part in the title. I personally like the title to be what is written on the box but would be willing to bend for group consensus.
