  1. Build is all finished and yeah it works right from the start no troubleshooting necessary. My first build was a nightmare wouldn't boot spent hours troubleshooting it, even bought a second power supply turns out the board was bad from the door once I got my new board it was done in like 20 minutes.
  2. Ok I think Dreamcast emulation is fine and use both NullDC and Demul for WinCE games also NullDC runs better than Demul on lower end systems at least in my experience. @Tatts4Life sorry for the missing link if you download the bios from where they suggest it will work for both NullDC and Demul.
  3. Hey @Tatts4Life here is a video that explains how to set up the Dreamcast emulator NullDC. it should explain pretty well what you need to do. I'm the person you have been chatting with on the We Got Serverd forums welcome to this community as well.
  4. Yeah that is it. Right after I got it I got into emulators and lent it to someone only to never get it back Wish I still had this I would get EverDrive's for both consoles
  5. NES clone I had one called FC twin that had 2 cart slots one foe NES and one for SNES
  6. It's a cool master elite 130. I already built a PC in one before. I'm replacing the HTPC in my living room (which happens to be the before mentioned build) and using that to replace my Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials server which conked out on me about a month ago. I would like to figure out what is wrong with the server since it has an i7 even though it is a 1st gen one it is still a decent computer even 5 years after I purchased it but honestly I have more computer than I know what to do with.
  7. Yeah I didn't link to even see the price. 28 inches isn't large enough in my opinion for 4 player lay out 42 inches at least. I want to see a sit down arcade bar setup with the screen back on the wall and some comfy seats to lounge in while I play. The only thing I like is how it is space saving by not being a whole cabinet.
  8. ROMs on my server are totally shareable. On the HTPC's most of the emulator folders are shareable. Zombeavers method is interesting though since it sounds like I could play more advanced emulators on less capable hardware. As for HTPC's anything will work as one I am using an old laptop as one at the moment so if you have one laying around preferably with HDMI (but no at all necessary as there are hybrid cables and some HDTV's have VGA PC port built in) you can hook one up quickly.
  9. DOS76

    Linux Build

Will it run in Wine (I think that is the name of the program that runs Windows stuff).
  10. I sincerely hope that isn't what the finished project will look like it has no visual appeal to it. I do however like the form factor. Just needs some graphics and a 4th controller.
  11. Started a new build today I'm waiting on the case still so won't be able to finish until Friday. The photo show a GTX 960 box but I decided to leave it in my other desktop and add my 750TI instead. Intel Core i5 6500 16GB Fury HyperX DDR4 RAM Asus Z170I 600W PSU 480GB San Disk Ultra II EVGA 750 TI
  12. That's very reasonably priced. I'm working with multiple HTPC's though so wouldn't be necessary in my case but good to know that it exists.
  13. If you had an HTPC though you wouldn't need a link right you would just be able to stream from your main PC to all of your other PC's.
  14. Yeah those are decent specs for anything. I'm totally ignorant when it comes to RA but I am sure that your Xeon can run at least some emulators I have two Windows tablets one with 1GB of RAM and one with 2GB both have the same Atom processor and I run Nintendo (NES, Super Nintendo, N64, Gameboy (all 3 versions) Collecovision Sega (Master System, Game 1000, Genesis, Game Gear, CD, 32X) Turbo Grafx 16. I've never really tried to anything much higher than those I don't have the space to store the games on there and doubt they would perform well anyway. If you need any assistance with your server both We Got Served and The Home Server Show have a lot of knowledgeable people on there.
  15. Ok that sounds like how XBox One streaming works. I have Steam installed on a few systems but I don't really use it to much the games I have on there I just launch from LaunchBox. Do the clients have to have decent specs to handle the stream? Most of my HTPC's are ok for what they do but my I5 3330 and my I7 4770k are my best computers they both handle X-Box One streaming like champs I tried it on a laptop with a Core 2 Duo in my basement and the performance was lack luster to say the least but that could be due to the WiFi signal all 4 of my HTPC's are on Gigabit LAN. That sounds like it would work for what the OP is trying to do. Or at least it sounds less convoluted then what he is trying now.
  16. I don't see where the nightmare comes in having the emulator on the server and accessing it from multiple computers caused issues with controllers needing to be reset every time I used a different computer. Also I usually just copy the LaunchBox instance to another PC and then change things accordingly in the XML file using NotePad++. I also keep local ROMs for Saturn, Dreamcast, Wii, Gamecube, PS1, PS2 and PSP. How do you have your LB setup. I guess I could set it up on the server and then every computer would have access to one instance that's how all of my other media is setup.
  17. Ok what are you trying to stream it to? A TV. I don't really understand what you are trying to accomplish. I run both Windows Home Server 2011 and Windows 2012 R2 Essentials and I'm testing Server 2016 in a Hyper-V virtual machine. I use the 2012R2 as domain controller and to handle all of my client backups the 2011 I use for centralized storage and to run Plex, Calibre, and Ubooquity servers. I have a local instance of LaunchBox/BigBox on all of my computers same thing for the emulators and then I access some of the roms from my server this isn't an issue you just have to keep files in their original location when you import them. Also a quick search shows that your processor should definitely support OpenGL
  18. Ok I have some server experience but I am confused as to what you are trying to do so a few quick questions. 1st is your server headless or do you have it connected to a TV? 2nd what server OS are you running? I have streamed a few emulators and the roms from my server on multiple computers but stopped streaming the emulators due to having to setup the controllers every time I changed which computer I was using it on. I currently do stream roms from my server but only for 8 and 16 bit games anything past those early games I use from the system that I'm I'm on at the time.
  19. If you run Project 64 in compatibility mode it fixes blue screen issues in 2.2 I'm unsure if that is the problem that you are having or not.
  20. The last few Beta builds have new MAME features (possible the latest stable too) when you import the games its really sweet for naming but truthfully you will still need to add your own metadata to a large portion of your games.
  21. A couple post up is a link to bitbucket Jason asked if all new requests and bugs that aren't only in the latest build be added there so he can keep request tidy and in one location.
  22. I didn't try RetroArch I was trying to get it working in Mednafen.
  23. I don't know anything about that but if you find a way to add custom commands to an IR remote I would definitely be interested in learning what it is that you did. I've always wanted to add typing through the numbers like old mobile phones had (T9 I think it is called) but couldn't find any info on how you would do that.
  24. Trying to use Mednafen but having issues I add the BIOS path this is what is listed in the config file ;Path to the ROM BIOS pcfx.bios pcfx.rom From what I gather I am supposed to add the Path to the BIOS which is E:\Emulators\Mednafen\Firmware\pcfx.bios (I created a pcfx.rom as I am unclear as to what to use) After I drag the .cue file over to mednafen.exe however it open with the game name and a black screen if I close that and open the config file again the path I added and saved is gone and the file is back to its original does anyone know what the proper path is I am confused by both pcfx.bios and pcfx.rom being in the same line and I am unsure as what would be the proper syntax also don't know why the config file is editing itself.
