You can also try turning on CD caching. It's in Quick Menu -> Options and it should be the top option. It's off by default.

Do you have frame delay set to anything other than 0 in your video settings (it's under vsync)? If so, try changing it to 0.
-
In the shader section where it shows "Passes: #" turn it to 0 and then hit apply changes. You can also just switch between them, loading one after another - it'll overwrite the old one.
-
You can change the AR (4:3 or something custom if you wanted) in the video settings just like any other RA core.
-
Well you could use... I got nothin'... You could try some of the interpolation shaders like xBR. I'm not a fan of them in general but xBR is probably the best among them.

It should make a little *bleeooh* noise and then fade out and then it'll go to the normal boot intro. Sometimes there are a couple of screens you have to go through. It shouldn't come back any time you load the game after that.

Puzzles and problem-solving have long been known to be good for the brain - maybe one day nursing homes will be full of Playstations instead of crossword and jigsaw puzzles Activities that keep the brain active and working can lead to longer life expectancy and help reduce the chances of developing mental illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer's. Obviously not all games are created equal to this end, but it seems entirely reasonable to me that the same concept applies to them as it did to jigsaw puzzles in the MacArthur Study. I'll certainly continue to play them as long as I'm able

Sorry, was occupied with Amiga stuff last night I'll take a look tonight for sure.

It's a WHDLoad argument switch. For some WHDload games you'll encounter screen flickering when the game is loading something. The PRELOAD argument normally gets rid of it. It's included in FS-UAE's configs for WHD games when necessary: Is there a way to assign that to a specific button (as in, on a controller) by the way? I know it's F12+W by default.
-
Do they have to be lha format for them to be recognized in the FS-UAE UI though? A simple zip with the correct amiga files/folder doesn't work? That just seems kinda retarded to me. What I have now will boot and work if they're simply passed from LB to Launcher.exe so I don't understand why they couldn't be recognized.
-
You have to hit the continue button (it's the bottom right one, if I recall). Once you do this for the first time you won't be prompted for the same game in the future. It's something specific to the RA version and I believe they're planning on getting rid of it in the future.

@Eirulan do your zips contain lha files or a file/folder structure like I mentioned? If they're lha files then maybe what I have actually will work as is. Like I said, I've never actually scanned/imported any of my games into FS-UAE itself, I've just downloaded the databases, so I don't know whether or not what I have would be recognized (because I haven't tried yet).
-
Hmm... then this may indeed not work for me. That's unfortunate The only thing I use with FS-UAE is WHDLoad zips. One thing I notice in the Amiga GamesDB is that for .adf versions it has specific file names listed for each variant (in the file_list and floppy_list sections), but it does not for WHDLoad games. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I wonder if there's some way the zips could be renamed so that they'd be recognized.

Really? There's practically no setup involved. Import your kickstarts into FS-UAE (which presumably you've already done) and then add Launcher.exe as the emulator in LB, and then the zips as roms in your LB library and that's literally it. I've used zips from KillerGorilla and WHDownload and, with only a couple exceptions, they've worked great. For me, this was the whole point in coming over from WinUAE in the first place. I'm using 2.7.15 development version.
-
This is what I was asking. I've never actually scanned anything into FS-UAE. Why wouldn't it? They're associated with the UUIDs in the FS-UAE database just like anything else. If you click on the dump drop-down menu it'll show all the known dumps, with configs for each. Right, except that in my case I'm directing the config in FS-UAE to a specific file in a specific folder for the corresponding game.
-
So where do the actual rom files go for this? Do I have to point FS-UAE itself to a folder for them or something? Thus far I've just used Launcher.exe as the emulator in LB and the WHDLoad zips as roms and in any instances where additional tweaking was needed (like PRELOAD) I create a config in FS-UAE and then used the config as the rom in LB. I guess with this I'd be setting up a new/separate emulator entry in LB specifically for FS-UAE UUID, but I'm just a little confused as to where the games themselves need to go in that case.

It doesn't require _01 and that's not the default convention LB uses either - it's a hyphen not an underscore, so Game-01 not Game_01. Game_01 might still work (I'm honestly not sure) but that's not LB's standard naming convention. Underscores are typically for characters that are unusable in Windows file names like colons. It looks for your library title, your rom name minus special characters, and your rom name with all special characters. You can then add numbers on top via -01, -02, etc. if you have multiple. I made a post about what LB does and doesn't look for here: It already does this. If your library title is "Batman The Movie" and your artwork is "Batman The Movie.jpg" it will match. Equally, if it's "Batman The Movie-01.jpg" it will match, but it doesn't have to be named with a number.
