I'm getting a pretty frequent crash when launching games in Launchbox. It's not happening in Big Box. It appears to be VLC-related based on the error and does go away after switching the video engine to Windows.
-
It's pretty basic. It's not really any kind of competition with RA's CRT shaders. There are other things you can add on top like scanlines of course, but this is with just " -ss.shader goat " enabled:

I haven't yet - I literally just saw it had been updated. Bout to fiddle around with it now

Just as an FYI, Mednafen (standalone) was updated to 0.9.41 on 1/21/17. Changes: Renamed settings "*.pixshader" to "*.shader". Added simple color TV CRT-approximating OpenGL shader, "goat". PSX: Added "psx.input.analog_mode_ct.compare" setting to control the combination of buttons used when the functionality controlled by the "psx.input.analog_mode_ct" setting is enabled. SMS: Added settings "sms.slstart", "sms.slend", "sms.slstartp", and "sms.slendp". SNES: Added setting "snes.h_blend", default value of "0", that when set to "1" will enable a horizontal blend/blur filter. SS: Added setting "ss.correct_aspect", default value of "1", to allow the user to disable aspect ratio correction(not recommended, but whatever~). SS: Added setting "ss.h_overscan", default value of "1", to allow the user to show less of the screen on the left and right sides by setting it to "0". SS: Added setting "ss.h_blend", default value of "0", that when set to "1" will enable a horizontal blend/blur filter(with a more noticeable effect on the Saturn video modes with a higher horizontal resolution). SS: Fixed the low volume problem in "Daytona USA". SS: Fixed missing/corrupted graphics of battle scenes in "Grandia". WonderSwan: Minor sound and graphics emulation accuracy improvements, from patches and suggestions provided by trap15.

I've been adding some Atari 7800 games to my library lately so obviously I've gotta have a video to go with it. Atari 7800 is now available.

I'm also occasionally having an issue where the background music doesn't stop when CCS64 or Demul are launched. The controls are working correctly regardless.
-
@Jason Carr I'm very happy to report that this beta has fixed the controller issues for me! I attempted several times with multiple games on both CCS64 and Demul and in both cases the controls worked perfectly (weren't tied to Big Box). Woot! Thank you!!! The only thing that I encountered was twice when launching Demul I had the problem where the background music didn't resume after exiting. It wasn't every time though - I probably started/exited about 10 times. Also @CriticalCid and @keltoigael the performance/hitching issue I mentioned before with the horizontal clear logo view is completely gone now! I love the new horizontal box view too!

The download section has been updated to include Atari 5200, Atari 7800, and Neo Geo Pocket Color.

Thanks! The download section has now been updated to include Atari 7800 and Neo Geo Pocket Color.

Hahaha no worries. I like the shape of the original font, but the way it's sortof dotted/segmented makes it look a little weird to me when it's scaled down in Big Box. I guess I could always just replace it with something else myself. I love browsing through 1001 Fonts anyway.
-
Is there an option to use the new font? I actually kinda preferred it.
-
Alright, here's the Neo Geo Pocket Color one. I think it turned out pretty well. A few of 'em had to take one for the team though (oh, and SNK all-the-way-erryday)
-
I'm just about done with it - the PAL SNK vs Capcom actually does look really good for it.
-
Thanks Jason! I haven't had a chance to test out 7.4 to see if 7.5 is where the issue appeared, but plan to do that tonight. I'll test the beta out first though to see if that fixes it. If not, I'll try 7.4.
-
I'll mess with that one as well.
-
I messed around with the Match of the Millenium cover and I think it's actually a little bit too "busy". I'm think I'm gonna go with Metal Slug 2nd Mission instead. Not thrilled with using Metal Slug twice but it looks pretty good.
-
I mean I assumed it wasn't the same thing, that's why I asked what the difference was haha. I didn't know it was for the DB ID though. I get that now. Okay. Fair enough. I just have no idea what this is going to be used for If it's this easy to implement something like this could you add one for %rompath% which would be identical to %romfile% except that it's injecting just the path to the rom and not including the rom file itself? This has some specific uses for simplifying Steem (Atari ST) and MESS (X68000) importing where you have to specify multiple disks to insert via command-line parameters.
-
At this point I'm going to call this good with a high probability of making some kind of alternative at some point assuming I can find something good to use. Normal: Scanlines: Normal - Version 2: Scanlines - Version 2: Those Metal Slug covers are decent, although I used Metal Slug for my normal Neo Geo clear logo and I try to not double up on games/franchises whenever possible. I'll be working on the banner next and I'd like to use this image but unfortunately I haven't been able to find a particularly high quality version of it (this is the best one I've found): I do run them through several filters so it doesn't have to be super high quality but I still like to start with the best quality I can get.
-
What does this mean exactly? What is the use scenario for it? How is it different from the %romfile% variable? The new server seems to be working great!
-
It sounds like you're trying to launch a UUID game but aren't using the necessary checkboxes (Don't use quotes and Use file name only) in the emulator settings.
-
That's part of it, yeah. There really wasn't any way to avoid it because of how the image is laid out and what portions of it I can make use of. I originally had him down lower so you could see his face but that looked even weirder because then it felt like he was getting squished.

Big Box doesn't recognize Demul v0.7A 180816 is running
Zombeaver replied to DjMcFilthy's topic in Emulation
@Jason Carr I'll send you a message. As far as an emulator update being the issue - CCS64 hasn't been updated in quite a while so it's definitely not that. I'm using 3.9.2 (newest) which is from 2015. -
UGH. I'm really not too happy with it at this point... It's just kinda bleh. I haven't decided if I'm gonna scrap it or not yet.
