  1. That's something for @Jason Carr
  2. They may or may not work with the FBA core, I have seen some compatibility but I cannot guarantee it..
  3. If you are uncomfortable with that site I will say that emuparadise does have a full 161 Mame set on their Complete ROM Sets page, they have update packs to get that set up to 193 but that is a much more advanced thing to do, it's not just a simple extract over top and write over the previous files.
  4. Glad it worked, emulation can be very demanding on the CPU especially the more modern and accurate cores.
  5. Arcade roms are always in a zip file with multiple files inside of them, they have to be packed up in a very specifically named zip file for the emulator to use them. You can find them in some places as a set and that set is split up into multiple rar / zip archives which do have to be extracted but the actual game rom files themselves have to be in their individual zip files.
  6. Launchbox doesn't care about the file, it's whether or not the emulator likes them. The best place to get up to date roms for up to date emulators is pleasuredome, especially for the arcade stuff. Getting the roms from other sources especially if you don't know the exact rom set version number is unknown you really are guessing and you have no idea if they are good working rom dumps.
  7. Do the games that crash through Launchbox load in Retroarch outside of Launchbox ? It could either be a rom file that the emulator doesn't like or when you imported your games you selected the copy or move file when you should choose to use the files in their current location. Moving or copying will cause issues with arcade roms because of their requirement to have parent and bios rom files in the same folder as the game rom itself such as the qsound.zip and neogeo.zip files. Games crashing after some play time is extremely weird and to me that indicates and issue with your computer rather than the emulator or rom.
  8. Ok, since you said this was a laptop check the power settings of the laptop and make sure it is set to the performance profile. My first guess is that your laptop is throttling the CPU speed and that is causing Retroarch performance issues. Also turn on the frames per second display in Retroarch and see if your games are running below 60 fps when you encounter these sound issues.
  9. Open Retroarch then Load Core, load the core you want to test out, Load Content and navigate to a game file for the core you want to test. General rule is to always test your emulators outside of Launchbox to make sure there are no issues with it, it makes troubleshooting much easier.
  10. With the core and a game loaded open up the Retroarch Quick Menu (F1) then go to Settings > Input > Input User 1 Binds > User 1 Device Index and make sure your controller you want to use with it is selected. It usually is by default but sometimes it may not be and if you have multiple controllers you may have to tell Retroarch which one you want to use. Also while in the Retroarch UI see if your controller is working in it, if it is then you are good to go. Once your controller is selected and working in the UI navigate back to the Quick Menu > Controls section and here you can setup your bindings how you like them. The default settings are generally setup pretty good depending on the controller you are using, in this menu you can see what the default controls are set to, for example Insert Coin and Start are generally by default set to the Select and Start buttons on your controller but again of course these can vary depending on the controller you are using. If you make any changes make sure to save out the changes as a Core Remap if you want that setup to be the default setup for the FBA core or if it's just for that game save a Game Remap. I generally have different remaps for the 6 button fighters like Street Fighter.
  11. Are these sound issues present if you just run Retroarch with Launchbox not running ?
  12. When you imported your games did you tell Launchbox to Copy, Move or Use files in current location ? You should have chose Use files in their current location, copying or moving will cause issues with roms that have other files required for them to work.
  13. You don't need to with Retroarch.
  14. Final Fight 2 MSU is now available. https://www.zeldix.net/t1616-final-fight-2-msu
  15. Add it to the platform you are playing it under, assuming you are talking about the Windows version just add it to the Windows platform.
  16. Good to hear you got it working the way you want it to.
  17. Ahh, sorry I should have noticed it wasnt't a PS game, I just saw Croc and assumed it was. You could try modifying the batch file to mount and run it but unfortunately I am not a batch file expert so you would either have to figure it out on your own or hopefully someone better at them can help you out. Is there much of a difference between the PS and Windows versions of the game ? With the PS version and emulator like ePSXe or Retroarchs PSX Hardware core you could up the internal resolution and enable PGXP to clean up the look of the game significantly.
  18. What emulator are you using for PS1 games ? The common emulators such as ePSXe, Mednafen and Retroarch do not require you to mount disk images at all. Though they can require cue + bin disk images. You can try this batch file as your emulator if you must mount the disk image. @echo off set game=%1% set daemon="C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Ultra\DTAgent.exe" set emu="path\to\ps emulator.exe"" %daemon% -mount F, %game% start /wait "" %emu% %daemon% -unmount F This will mount your game on load and unmount it once you are done. I used this for Saturn games using SSF before Mednafen started to support Saturn and then moved to it.
  19. It's easy to miss since @Jason Carr kinda put it in an odd spot under Search and not a sub category with a name that made sense, I had to look for a few seconds to find it again.

    Neo Geo

It sounds like you downloaded 1 part of a split archive and you need all the parts to extract it.

    Neo Geo

Up to you but the simplest thing to do is to get an up to date Mame rom set and Mame to match it. Yeah it's a sizable download but it is the simplest and you won't have to update it for a long time.

    Neo Geo

Those are just how the different rom files are named. I really cannot tell you why they are named that way, just accept that's the way it is. The same is true if you look inside every single Mame rom zip file, it's just how they are.

    Neo Geo

Yes, you have to make an account, the Mame set will be visible in their torrents listYou will want either the split set or non merged. Non Merged will be much larger and we recommend the split set. They won't have a freely available Neo Geo set, most of their stuff is locked behind a share ratio requirement but the Mame set is not.
