  1. There is no need to uninstall and reinstall from scratch. It's been quite a while since I have used MameUI but I did use it at one time and there was no issues using it.
  2. I really don't want to do the Creators Update but it's sitting in my system right now just waiting for the "Update and Restart".
  3. I don't use the Creators Update but some people have reported issues with it. They did fix the issues though by reinstalling video drivers or direct x and we do have some people using the CU.
  4. This is strange because Launchbox has zero interaction with your Mame settings, It simply uses whatever settings you have in Mame.
  5. Did you try restarting Launchbox after importing the games ? There could be some sort of caching issue and a restart may fix it.
  6. Are you using RocketLauncher or maybe a different Mame install ? If you aren't using RL and you are using the exact Mame install then it will use the same settings as the Mame has. Launchbox does not look at your Mame settings or effect them in any way.
  7. There shouldn't be any issues with any version of Windows 7, 8 or 10. I have used all 3 of them with Launchbox with no problems. It's too bad you are having problems with Windows 10 but I can assure you there is something else going on with it for you. Myself and several others use Windows 10 and Launchbox daily without problems.
  8. Check in your \Launchbox\Updates folder, there should / might be older installers in there you can run.
  9. By the time the PS1 and N64 came out I was already gaming for 15+ years and to me they just looked awful compared to the amazing sprite work of the 16 era and the control schemes were so awful for the most part (Mario 64 and the Rare games were an exception). Yeah, you could say that after the 32 bit era (PS2, Dreamcast and other consoles) used the same formula but for me that was a console problem. I was heavily into the PC side of things by then and there was so much more variety with true racing sims, online first person shooters, strategy games and the birth of MMOs.
  10. Well if the Parallel core has come that far that is good to hear, it's been a while since I have bothered to look at it at all. Maybe I will have to take a peak at again sometime soon, I just really don't care a whole lot for the N64. I know it's a system that a lot of people have a lot of nostalgia for being many peoples first console and all. For me though the 32 bit + N64 era was just a really bad phase for gaming while it went through that awkward "puberty phase" as gaming switched from 2D sprites to 3D polygons. It took time for the hardware to do it justice and the devs to learn how to design games for it.
  11. Well unless they up and changed things again (which is always possible) the Mupen64plus core right now for general every day use is the one to use. For a shot while there were 3 cores, Mupen64, Parallel and GlupeN64. Mupen64 was based off the stand alone. Parallel was the low level one using Vulkan and GlupeN64 was the newest one that used the GlideN64 video plugin which was the most advanced. They ran into some unexpected roadblocks with the Parallel core and pushed it to the back burner, not abandoned but needed to overcome some issues. They had a disagreement with the GlideN64 plugin developer and decided to part ways. At this point they decided to just roll the Glupen64 core into the old Mupen64 core so now there is only the Parallel and Mupen64plus core. N64 emulation as a whole is messy and there is no perfect or best emulator for it. I personally have had the best luck with the new version of the Mupen64 core but PJ64 is also very good (relatively speaking) and so is the stand alone Mupen64 emulator. They all have their pros and cons however, some games work better with certain emulators and others work better with another. The Parallel core though is certainly the one with the most potential for accuracy due to the fact it is built from the ground up as a low level emulator hence the name ParLLEl. If they can overcome the roadblocks they have run into it can become the most accurate N64 emulator while PJ64 and Mupen64 use high level hacks and plugins to get the job done.
  12. What are you talking about ? The parallel core is the one that has been pushed to the back burner because they ran into issues with it. The Mupen64plus core is the one that Glupen64 core got rolled into and now uses the GlideN64 plugin and supports texture packs, MSAA.
  13. Yes, desktop mode. I have 11,000 games and run an AMD 8350, 16 gigs ram and no use of a ram disk and I have rarely ever had any issues at all with performance in either mode. Occasional betas have had issues sneak in but taken care of quickly and fixed in the next beta release.
  14. Yeah, I hear what you are saying and I don't experience the issues you describe. I can change platforms which contain several hundred games (NES, Genesis, SNES) and it will scroll smoothly. I use Launchbox every day, it is always loaded even if I am not using it and this is never a problem at all. The worst that happens is there is the occasional box art that needs to cache in for a micro second but once it does it's fine. Even on my low end HTPC it runs fine, though the library size on that system is much more streamlined.
  15. I don't know what to tell you, I don't experience the issues that you are saying you are encountering.
  16. It's not something I experience with my 11,000+ library size and I have my Launchbox open all the time while doing other stuff like web browsing, keeping an eye on Discord and listening to music all on the same system. Have you tried the updating to the latest beta at all ? People have been reporting very significant performance gains. While I cannot say I have noticed a significant performance increase with the latest beta I can say it is a bit noticeable but I also didn't have any significant issues before it either.
  17. Remove your games from Launchbox and re-import using the filter tool. Just when it asks about media tell it not to scrape it, the import process should go much faster since removing the game from Launchbox doesn't remove the media files.
  18. Ok well unfortunately because of what you got and where you got it it is really hard to trouble shoot it.
  19. So you got some roms off of a disk you got from somewhere ? With a UI version of Mame you can use the audit tool to find out what roms are missing. If you are using the command line version of Mame open a command prompt window and navigate to your Mame folder and type in mame64.exe romzipname and then hit enter, it will try and run the game. If it fails it will give you an error message saying what it's missing and where it is looking for it. For SSFII Turbo I am going to guess that it needs the ssf2tu.7z and ssf2t.7z, the first one is the US region "clone" and the second file is the "parent"
  20. Are all games not working or just a hand full ? What kind of set did you get ? Split, merged or non-merged ? Did you try Mame .184 ?
  21. It's possible that something better could come along but I don't see it coming anytime soon.
  22. Honestly, I am not sure, I run with it off cause of my G-Sync monitor.
  23. I believe it is called syncrefresh.
  24. Maybe some sort of picture viewer, no idea which one would be best to use for this purpose though.
