  1. Again dude, no one said it was a bad idea, just an unfeasible and very time consuming one.
  2. Raine, Final Burn Alpha (stand a lone version) and Mess / Mame will do it. I found Mess to be the best option and if you look around I did a full tutorial on it.
  3. Try emailing or messaging @Jason Carrdirectly, he should be able to help you out.
  4. The new nightly builds (and official release when it comes out) has extra info on all the settings now when you go through them so you know what each setting does. For the most part Retroarch out of the box works extremely well for the "average" persons needs. It only gets tricky when people start getting into niche circumstances such as controllers and oddball setups. Again like I said previously this is about not wanting these enhancements for Launchbox, it is about time and effort to do it. Jason could either continue working on new and unique features or he could stop all the current development for god knows how long to reinvent the wheel that is Retroarchs UI. Also like I said previously, this topic has been brought up before with the exact same comparison to OpenEmu on the Mac.
  5. None off the top of my head other than Mame which I know has some support but how good it is I don't know, I don't think it's very good yet though.
  6. I am unfamiliar with the emulator Viva Nonno so I have no idea how it works. Does it support loading roms via command line ? If it does you may have to play with a couple of settings for the emulator in Launchbox, typically for arcade systems you don't want to have it extract the roms and you want it to just use the file name without extension.
  7. This has been brought up before and long story short is that what you are suggesting is not just a simple thing to do. Jason would need either a staff of developers or dedicate a lot of time to doing this. This would require him writing an entire UI for the libretro cores and in essence he is just reinventing the wheel because Retroarch does all of this already. It is just as easy for people to setup and Retroarch and tie it into Launchbox like we already do. I am not saying it's a bad idea, it's just simply not feasible or time efficient for Jason to tackle such a task at this point in time, maybe some day down the road.
  8. Yes, go to Manage Emulators and then for each emulator Edit Emulator > Emulator Details you will see in the bottom right corner the option to Extract ROM archives before running. PS: Since you double posted this topic I deleted the other one
  9. It's quite possible that Gauntlet Legends is a game that none of the N64 emulators can handle right now. There are some games that are tough for the current emulators to handle still.
  10. Does it crash for every game or just Gauntlet Legends ?
  11. Nope. I don't know if there are problems with 10 or not. I use Windows 8.
  12. Did you import save files as well or did you import multiple rom dumps of the same game ?
  13. N64 emulation needs a lot of work before it is what I personally would call "good". Some people may try and argue it but the simple fact of the matter is that is a hack job at best and you just have to accept that some games are going to play great and others are going to be crap. Maybe Cen64 will mature quickly and be more accurate and less of a hack job.
  14. Do yourself a favour and don't use the Retroarch Mupen core. Use either the stand alone Mupen64 or Project64 instead. Better yet, install both PJ64 and Mupen64 and use the right one for each game. Nintendo64 emulation as a whole is touch and go at best, different games will work better depending on the emulator being used.
  15. You could also backup your \config folder with all the core configs.
  16. It should be in the \autoconfig\xinput\ folder, probably the XInput_Controller_User_1.cfg Not sure why you would have to manually configure your controllers though, mine have always auto configured.

    Brutal Doom64

Today being Halloween means it's release day for Brutal Doom64 which is a remake of Doom64 using the Brutal Doom engine. http://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom-64
  18. I can only echo what Clive said and if there is anything you need help with when it comes to Launchbox ask away and if anyone here can help you can be sure that people here will help out. That's not to say that every possible issue can be solved here but we have a good collective group of people with all sorts of knowledge and always happy to share.
  19. I don't have a Mayflash Dolphin Bar at all but I don't see any reason it should be a problem for Launchbox. Unlike HyperSpin, Launchbox doesn't rely on a back end program like RocketLauncher (and its modules) to function. As long as the emulators you are using supports the controllers and accessories Launchbox will be fine. As far as a controller working as the controls with Launchbox goes any controller that is recognized by windows it should work just fine.
  20. If what you got setup now is working there is no reason to switch but if you were to start over with a new build then it might be worth it for you.
  21. Cool, glad you got it working. I just had to make sure about the Saturn games since I noticed that lol.
