Ahhh, much better though the location of where to change it might be a bit weird. Not sure how many people will look down there for it.

Daphne Laser Disc emulator - a comprehensive tutorial
Lordmonkus replied to CADScott's topic in Emulation
Here's a quick and simple way to get your Daphne games working in Launchbox. It may not be an elegant solution but it is simple and it works as long as you have your games loading through the DaphneLoader.exe. Step 1) Make a batch file for each game, call the batch file whatever you like. I made these batch files right in the directory which contains the daphne.exe Step 2) This step will be repeated for each game. Open your DaphneLoader.exe and for each game you have and want to import into Launchbox click the Configure button and go to the Advanced tab. The bottom drop down menu "Display command line", set this to Enabled, click apply and ok. Now when you start that game it is going to popup with a bunch of text, select it all and copy. The game will launch but just exit back out. Step 3) Open the batch file you created for the game in notepad you just copied the command line information from and paste it in and save. Step 4) Drag the bat file into Launchbox and put into whatever platform you choose. I use the platform Daphne. Step 5) Right click the game and click edit. Go to the emulation tab and uncheck "Use an emulator to play this game". After you click apply it will popup with a message saying you need to specify and emulator do you want to do this now, click no. Now you can go back into each game and reverse Step 2 to disable "Display command line" When you launch a game from Launchbox if you get an error message repeat Step 5 just to double check it. Like I said this may not be an elegant solution to this emulator and Launchbox but it is the simplest that I know of and it does work. -

Ahh ok I see what you are talking about now. I just made a thread showing some short demo videos of games in Mednafen but I won't put those in the cvideos section you are talking about. I will put the tutorial videos in there though.
-
I have recently made some short videos simply showing off the emulation quality at this early stage. If there is a game you wish to see let me know and I will do what I can to get a short video uploaded as quickly as I can.

You are welcome. There is probably something you can do with Xpadder but like I said I don't use it for anything so my experience with it is extremely limited outside of messing with it a little bit. Definitely give the new Mednafen a shot though, this will quickly become the new Saturn emulator of choice. It's already my go to emulator for Saturn and it's just the first release. But like I said I had to do some work on some images to get them compatible.
-
You don't need to do anything with Xpadder at all. I got 2 potential solutions to your Saturn needs, pick the one you wish you use. Option 1: Create a batch file in your SSF folder and in that batch file put the following code: @echo off set game=%1% set daemon="C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" set emu="H:\Emulation\Emulators\SSF\SSF.exe" %daemon% -mount 0, %game% start /wait "" %emu% %daemon% -unmount 0 Modify the set emu daemon and set emu lines to match your program locations. Now in Launchbox add or modify your SSF emulator if you already have it in there as an emulator and have it point to the batch file. This will now work just like any other emulator, it will mount and unmount your image files automatically. Option 2: Now this is a new option and it was one I recommend at least trying to see how it works for you. Use the latest release of Mednafen, it now supports Saturn and it works extremely well. It is on par with SSF for me and I have tested over 60 games with 58 of them working. Other people have run into problems with certain specific games that I don't have like Virtua Fighter. I did a video tutorial showing how to get this emulator running and you can find it in the videos section of the forum. One possible drawback to this emulator right now though is that is much pickier about its image dumps than SSF is. You may need to get proper dumps or do some repair work using CD Mage or converting audio files and generating new cue + bins with ImgBurn. Sorry I cannot help you with the Xpadder stuff, I don't really use it.

Hmmm, not sure. First I thought maybe integer scale had an effect on it maybe but my testing shows it doesn't. But for me I can change ratios and it changes instantly. -

Yeah, at where it says core provided press right a couple of times, it should change. Set it to what you want, im assuming 16:9 is what you are looking for but there are a whole pile of choices. -

Ok as long as you are aware that it will stretch that's all. I know some people like it and some people don't. Open the RA menu then go right one to the cogwheel icon, then down to Video and then scroll down to the Aspect Ratio Index, then just scroll right til you get the aspect you want. -
Up at the top right, click the bell and then notification settings. In there you can turn off all the stuff you don't want notifications for.

There is only about 6 or 7 games for the SuperGrafx but you will have the best port of Ghouls N Ghosts outside of the arcade version.

Aspect Ratio Index in the Video Settings, you can choose all sorts of ratios in there, But just so you are aware you will be stretching 99% of your games and it won't look right. -
hehe np, if you plan on doing SuperGrafx games too and just want to keep them under the same platform get the supergrafx core, it will handle all your TG / PC Engine, CD and Supergrafx games on one single core.
-
Does your core match up in Launchbox to the one you have in your Retroarch/core folder ?

Where Are The Retroarch Core Video Options Located?
Lordmonkus replied to Dreamwarrior77's topic in Troubleshooting
Well if you first go into the "Configuration" menu and turn on "Configuration Per-Core" that will enable you to adjust your video settings and it will be saved for the core you currently have loaded. -
The default should be Super Nintendo (SNES). Super Famicom is there for people who want to have separate regional platforms. Glad you got it sorted though.
-
Ok then you have something else not right in Launchbox. A common problem is in the edit emulator window, check and make sure that the "Extract ROM archives" box is NOT checked. Also in the "Associated Platforms" tab make sure that the name in there matches the platform in the left hand column of Launchbox.
-
Yeah as long as you have download the snes9x_next_libretro.dll core using the Online Updated in Retroarch.
-
You probably noticed but just in case you didn't see them yet Brad just uploaded some new back to basics video tutorials on getting Retroarch and Launchbox up and running. Check those out and if you are still having problems then we will see what we can do to get you sorted out.
