I just tried the plugin. I set up a new user in RomM as viewer, configured the server details in the plugin configuration page, then I tried to sync roms list from server. It processed the request for a second then I got the error in the image, when I click ok the plugin claims the sync finished however there are no games being populated in LB.

The only problem I've had in recent times came from dropping VLC because of outdated dependencies, FFMPEG works just fine most of the time but it's a different animal and things need time to adjust to the new tooling. If you think LB is bad then do it better yourself. Also the beta forum is for reporting bugs in and discussion of betas, not complaining to management.

For whatever it's worth, importing PS4 titles isn't hard. Just use the search function in windows explorer to find "eboot.bin" and it'll give you all the bin files in the directory. Just drag and drop those onto LaunchBox and you're golden. When you go through the importer just remember to select "Use folder names".

@JaredN I had similar issues with ffmpeg, updating drivers fixed it for me but since you are on the latest you could try reinstalling them as a fresh install, this clears all saved settings that may be causing problems. Hope it helps.

@chadbanksI've had this issue recently and it was fixed by updating video drivers. Also please do not post in the beta thread unless specifically related to the beta.

I can't say whether it would update without error but there are two certain ways to find out. You could either backup your data folders and try to update the existing installation, or install a fresh copy of launchbox (you can have multiple) and then copy the data folders into the new directory. I'd probably do the second one as it maintains the old installation if it doesn't work.

Is anyone else having a lot of crashing issues just browsing titles in LaunchBox? I haven't tinkered with BigBox yet since 24 released but just clicking from one game to the next in LB is causing it to crash. This is using the FFMPEG video backend, default theme. What do you guys need from me to debug? EDIT: This seems to be directly related to video playback with FFMPEG, I quickly flipped through titles in a platform that had no videos and no crashing, switch to a platform that does have videos and immediate crash when flipping between two of them. EDIT AGAIN: So I did some googling and updated my nvidia drivers and it seems the crashing has stopped. For reference I'm on a 4070 and was using the stock windows 11 nvidia drivers. I'll post a proper support ticket if it comes back.

@faeran The issues with hybrid view 2,3 and 4 being visible is on a fresh install and the default theme so I don't know what to tell ya on that one, I'll have time next week to test further.

Initial testing of the Hybrid view on a fresh install on Windows 11 24H2. 1) PlatformHybrid 2-4 freeze Bigbox as soon as you get to the Platform view. 2) PlatformHybrid1 has an issue where if you press a direction button on the controller under certain circumstances if completely freezes/lock all further controller inputs. Specifically this view is vertical so if you press left/right it stops responding to controller input. A peculiarity of this issue is that keyboard controls remain usable even after the controller stops responding. These issues are reproducible from what I can see. Will report more if I find more. Also I'm super glad to get this new integrated view, I've been looking forward to it since the live stream.

I finally got some time to test things on beta3. I'm not sure if this is actually beta3 related but I have noticed that on a fresh install with beta3 my PS3 games (installed in RPCS3) are not auto populating. Other than that I've had good success so far. EDIT: Nvm about the PS3 issue, was a user error. beta3 seems to be working fine for me.

So, not sure about anyone else but I consider it a major downgrade to have to install a third-party codec pack that contains who-knows-what in it just to keep using BigBox with videos. Is that actually going to be necessary? Also I'm sure this is nothing new to the team but what about this: https://github.com/videolan/libvlcsharp. It does say it supports wpf forms but I know all of nothing of programming and I'm sure it's more complicated than a simple google search, so feel free to ignore me. EDIT: I just went back to 13.20 and confirmed that for me VLC is working perfectly fine with no performance issues, so the perceived disturbance of a perfectly working system is pretty annoying IMO.

I could be very wrong here but to my knowledge the pcsx2 core in retroarch hasn't been kept up to date with the standalone version so it probably has a lot of missing features. I personally use pcsx2 standalone for this reason.

Just a thought but have you checked that the buttons all work on a switch? If not then it's the controller if so it's the adapter.
