Acorn Archimedes not working in Launchbox for me
Soundtrackgeek replied to Dave S Cramer's topic in Troubleshooting
What rom are you guys using? I'm using risocs-3.71.rom but it gives me a black screen only for the games that I've tried. -
I'm using Launchbox 8.7 Final and I have the following selected. Tools -> Hide Games Missing Front Box Image Image Group -> Boxes Tools -> Options -> Images -> Box Front Properties (Only Box Front and Box Front Reconstructed selected) In my Atari ST collection, I notice that "Disc" and "Advertisement Flyer - Front" is still being shown. I've tried restarting it etc. but those are still showing. Is it a bug or is it a setting I'm missing?
-
Thanks! This happened to me as well. My cache was 5.5 gigs, but it always started up fast and without a hitch before 8.6 final. I see the pictures are still there. Do we need that cache folder? Can I delete it?

Not sure if this has been asked and answered, but I have noticed a problem with the RPG 3.1 pack. Games that start with "The" doesnt load up because they point to a filename that starts with "The". For example The Bards Tale, but the actual .bat file is called "Bard's Tale 1, The - Tales Of The Unknown (1987).bat" I've done setup.bat a few times, but it doesnt seem to fix it. Also did the patch.bat. Any clues?

Whenever I go to the Launchbox Games Database website and do a search, I'm either getting Server Runtime Error or it takes 10 seconds to complete a search. Browsing through platforms, genres etc. work fine.

Thanks for the update @eXo

So what's the situation exactly with the latest Launchbox and ExoDOS & Win31? There is a export button in Meagre, but will it work like it used to because of all the splitting of XML files?

How to update your MAME ROMset to a newer version with CLRmamepro
Soundtrackgeek replied to SentaiBrad's topic in Emulation
I get as far as the "new scan" option, then I get this message: Any ideas? -
@eXo Well that sounds brilliant. My mind boggles. This sounds waaay better than the VB idea of mine. I'll cryofreeze myself right now and set the wake up timer for your 80th birthday and the release of the magnificent Win9x collection
-
Out of curiosity @eXo, how would you go about running those Windows games for your possible future Windows Collection? I have a sizable Windows games collection, but I have no clue how to utilize it in a frontend such as Meagre or LaunchBox. I've been playing with Virtualbox, creating an image for each game, but I bet you have a more clever idea than that.

Yes, didn't even think of that. Works great! Very easy to set up. I go to my selected forum topic and "Follow" i, then I go to the Activity tab -> My Activity Streams -> Content I Follow
-
I think I found it: http://forums.launchbox-app.com/discover/ And there's an RSS button there. I'll see if I can work a bit with that.
-
Ah yes silly me, one extra click Got the RSS feed, but only seem to update every time a new thread is created and not for each post in the forum. You mentioned "Activity Stream". How would I set that up?
-
@Jason Carr Ah yes, didn't notice that. That'll do me just fine, but is it working? I tried clicking on it in both Firefox and Edge, but nothing seems to happen.
-
New forums works great! Is there an RSS feature like the old forum had? I could just add a /rss to the threads I wanted to follow and I got it in my RSS reader.

CriticalCid said It’s normal that the value has changed back to true. Otherwise LB would try to reorganize the images every time when you start it. Have you refreshed your images in LB? Tools -> Refresh All Images Ah yes, that did the trick. Thanks!
-
CriticalCid said CriticalCid said 5. Open your LaunchBox.xml and search for the line which starts with: <ImagesReorganizedFor5 6. Change the value in the middle from “true” to “false” 7. Save and close the LaunchBox.xml 8. Open LaunchBox and wait until everything is finished and have fun with your newly imported eXoDOS and/or Win3xO set :) Did that. When I open the Launchbox after step 5 it says something about organizing images for LB5.0+ for a little while. Launchbox opens but there are still no images. So I check the LaunchBox.xml again and the value has changed back to true. Same thing happened twice for me now.

So I gave it a try to import the ExoDOS 2.0 archives to LaunchBox yesterday and it seemed to work fine. I have all the games there and I can play them. No images though. I see that in my Images folder I have 2000+ images called "1000 Miglia.{59509418-6113-48B3-A06D-4550A82AA56B}" and "Race Mania.{B784719E-013E-4D95-910D-FAA43118306C}" etc. Furthermore they are not in a folder like I would expect like DOS or PC Booter. Any way to fix this?
