  1. Do the same games that won't work with command line, work if you use the emulator gui to run them?
  2. Finally, something that makes sense! hahaha
  3. Wow that's nuts! So if you install an older version of LB right now, you say that things will work fine?
  4. @WolfRamiO , just curious, what were the reasons for rejecting your suggestion to use MPC?
  5. Even though VLC is having some issues in LB for me (and others), I don't think it's necessarily VLC's fault (could be). VLC is regarded as one of the best if not the best video tools and players. Many video related developers use it as a standard tool at places like Netlix and at some other places that do real time steaming, video capture, and other things. I really like VLC outside of Launchbox. I'd rather just see the bugs get fixed than to jump from player to player. VLC is solid and isn't going anywhere. It's actively worked on. Just my two cents...
  6. I'm quite certain a new clean install will work like dos said, but before you go and copy everything over, just try adding one emulator and one game to be 100% sure. then you could go into your new Data folder and look at how the xml looks for the emulator and game and compare that to how it looks in your bad install's Data folder. You might see what's wrong and be able to fix it easily with search/replace using Notepad++ i am sure Jason is very busy, but maybe he would be willing to look at your data folder if you can't figure it out to save you from all the work of setting everything up again from scratch.
  7. Why dont you just try launching the same command that LB is trying for one of these games by running it in a command cmd.exe window without LB. if it works then its pretty certain some xml or something is messed up in your LB.
  8. Why is LB running two strange looking instances of autohotkey.exe on my system? No games are running, but I was running some before. And after I just LB, these two autohotkey processes continue to run in task manager!?? This doesn't seem right. Seems like a bug. @Jason Carr ? See screenshot. Edit: Maybe these are left running when LB crashes from VLC on game launch (my games use LB's autohotkey tab). Because I don't see this happen when I'm using Win Media Player and not having LB crashing. I guess it might be like LB leaving the extracted game files in the 7zip temp folder when I hit the game crashing from vlc.
  9. @Jason Carr , at last I can use VLC in Launchbox!! Woohoo!! Thanks Jason! But just one thing, I can't double click the game videos to go full screen and back. Single click pauses/unpauses (nice) and double click just acts like single click. Right click acts as single left click also. With Win Media Player setting, I could double click to go in and out of full screen or right click and choose full screen. Is there any way to fix that for VLC? I really like that full screen functionality. Edit: Oh no @Jason Carr , I was premature. 5th game launch crashed LB. Oh man I really wasn't expecting the fix to work because I'm just using default VLC Player settings in my full VLC install and I doubted that working settings would cause LB to crash even if LB was using the global installed VLC settings. So, I'm back to Windows MEdia Player...thanks for trying though!
  10. maybe try closing LB and manually deleting all the files in the cache directory and start up LB to perform a fresh caching?
  11. if you check the settings for one of your games in LB, does the path and file name for the rom match with the actual location of your game rom file? maybe post screenshots of the settings of one of your games for the first tab and the emulator tab for people to look at? also it might help to see the settings for the emulator as well. maybe try adding one game and see if the new one added works?
  12. i would really like those 3 options too @Kevin_Flynn
  13. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/2300/add-option-to-go-back-to-last-game-or-not you can click Vote on this ticket if you'd like to be able to toggle the default behavior.
  14. Yeah, I wasn't too crazy about the new feature to go back to where you left off, without having it as a preference setting. Like you, I would prefer it not to go back to where I left off Ideally this should be configurable, but I don't think it is at the moment.
  15. I "think" the games marked as Favorite show at the start of each platform game list in LB and BB. So, without even hiding anything, it should be easy to see and navigate the favorites in each platform. The enhancement requested sounds nice, but I wanted to add this just note in case you didn't know that the favorites are at the start of the game list in each platform. That said, I'm not sure how the letter navigation works with respect to the favorites vs all the others since I'm not in front of my BB to see.
  16. Hi @Dan , at least for the time being if you really want to use it, you could use free Antimicro to set the controller up using keyboard mappings as was suggested earlier, as long as Antimicro can recognize your controller, that is. But the painful part would be turning off/on Antimicro when going into games if you don't want to reconfigure your emulators to use the Antimicro keyboard mappings. So, if you don't want Antimicro active when launching games, you would have to setup a simple autohotkey script for each emulator in Launchbox autohotkey tab that basically kills the antimicro running process and then starts it back up on pressing escape when exiting games. Not ideal, but it should work.
  17. Just installed the latest vlc player 64 bit. LB instantly starts crashing again on game launch. I will totally remove 64bit and try the 32bit installer of vlc player Edit: no luck. instant crashing with 32bit vlc player installed as well. no LB vlc for me!
  18. Based on what @cammelspit said about LB not using the local vlc, I decided to totally uninstall my installed VLC app from my Win 10 box to see if LB would stop crashing with vlc error on game launching. Guess what @Jason Carr, I don't have LB crashing now when launching Demul and Dolphin games, Now, I would really like to have the full VLC Player installed, but I can wait for a bug fix from Launchbox if it's not too long. I guess the LB vlc library may have been clashing with my full vlc player installation maybe? Please fix so I can have my VLC Player back Weird thing now that my LB is using VLC. I can't go full screen on the game videos now (no right click or double click). I can only pause them and unpause them. I'm on 7.5 Beta 2.
  19. that was just an example for you to see what args are passed when emulators launch. anyway sounds like you have something very interesting brewing. maybe you need to talk to LB devs.
  20. maybe you can try creating a test emulator in LB that is just a batch file and try launching it with some game or fake game to see what gets passed. i'm pretty sure system and rom gets passed. the batch file could be like: echo %1 >> c:\temp\test.txt echo %2 >> c:\temp\test.txt echo %3 >> c:\temp\test.txt and then look at c:\temp\test.txt to see what was passed.
  21. maybe @Jason Carr can give you some love on this...
  22. i've also asked this in a different thread with no answer. So what was in the msg box popups? were they empty?
  23. I wonder if it's just certain video(s) too? Like maybe if you just have attract mode set to run inside one platform instead of all platforms, maybe that could help narrow down where the problem is more specifically? or maybe it doesn't matter. just a thought.
  24. what is no intro? what is no intro auditing? someone please enlighten me.
  25. looks like another user just reported this as well in bitbucket: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/2252/big-box-high-memory-usage
