  1. Id also advise to not even use MAME. for these console systems.
  2. We have no problems with people asking questions, thats what the Launchbox forums are for, but they are for Launchbox, or general emulators in respect to Launchbox questions. We are not a general emulator or hacked consoles forum. So advice on a hacked mini console is not likely to get much viewership here, you are better off asking on more specific forums or subreddits for the specific needs you have.
  3. This is the Launchbox forums, id try asking somewhere else about your issue. I had to google "Project Eris" to even no what it is.
  4. In the youtube videos i have seen it shows in Windows as "Wireless Controller" just like the Dual Shock 4, so i would assume it will work with anything that the Dual Shock 4 works with when not using any mapping software, so steam for example, but im assuming LB/BB and Retroarch as well. It also shows on the Pi as "Wireless Controller". Obviously you cant make use of any of the new features at all, but all the buttons work as normal.
  5. You wont lose anything, it just installs the program files it doesnt touch your data or images, its absolutely no different to the program updating itself, which im sure you have done many times, your just sterting it manually rather than the program exiting and running the installer itself. As for over the top i mean install to the same location, as you are manually starting the update it will ask you were you want to install it, so just install it to the same location. If you used the default path originally that will be C:\Users\your username\Launchbox, so when it asks for a path choose C:\Users\your username.
  6. Go into your Launchbox/Updates folder and re-run the 11.7 installer and install over the top of your build.

    Slow boot

The cache for each system is only done once, unless you change image type, or the size of the images on display in your setup, or manually refresh.
  8. Just the one thats what i'm saying. If you have a actual romset and not something cobbled together from all over the internet then you just match the romset to emulator version. So if your romset is the latest 0.226 version then all the games that actually work in MAME will work in the 0.226 version of the emulator, you dont need any other versions. For those you need the update packs, which are released every month along side the actual fullset, so if you have every singly update pack from when your set is from until now (which would be about 40 update packs and would probably be around the size of a actual full romset at this point then you can do what you want, but im guessing you dont have those and wont be able to find them all) You cant just point it at your cobbled together romset, as i stated in my previous reply, you are missing all sorts of files from inside the zips probably thousands of them at this point, there is no software on earth that can make what you have a correct romset, you need a new one, again, like i said in my previous post. What you have is NOT a romset, what you have will not work, you need to start from scratch with a correct romset, otherwise you will never get MAME working correctly. Just ditch the rubbish you have that mostly doesnt work, and get a proper romset that does, you have no other choice at this point if you want games to actually work and not just take up space on your HDD for no reason.
  9. Essentially what was happening here was you are using a xinput controller and setting the controls with that. You are then in Launchbox telling MAME to load with a config for a dinput controller, which of course you havent set up as your not using a dinput controller, hence no controls.
  10. The controller dinput part totally contradicts that you have a xbox360 controller which is xinput not dinput, whoever said to add that for a xbox controller has no idea what they are talking about.
  11. Remove it all except for the "-keyboardprovider dinput" part.
  12. Check the box for "skip game details screen" in Bigbox.
  13. That could certainly be a issue, especially if you are using a xinput controller. Sending that command will force MAME to use dinput only i assume, so if thats not what your controller is then its not going to work.
  14. Launchbox is simply telling MAME which rom shortname to load, like sf2 for Street Fighter II for example. This is all it does, it doesnt even pass the actual rompath to mame, it just says hey MAME load sf2, and MAME finds that rom in the rompath you ttold MAME to look in for your roms, and loads it, as well as the config from the mame.ini or and per machine settings/controls you have set from the cfg folder. Launchbox does nothing more than say load this rom and MAME itself handles absolutely everything else. Are you using mameUI and not standard MAME by any chance?
  15. No, you would need to get a proper fullset. Version doesnt really matter to much, but the newer the better. Then just make sure whatever set you get to match that to the same emulator version. You should never trawl the net for random MAME roms for this very reason, things change not only with the emulator, but the roms themselves, and the emulator has a list of every zip, and the files that should be in said zip, if that is different in any way to what it expects, the game wont work at all.

    Mame problems

Delete the commandline in your image above, thats breaking MAME.

    Mame problems

Also why do you have a absolute path to your inipath in the ini and everything else is using a relative path? Is D:\arcade\mame the correct path to the emulator folder? Cause if MAME cant find and read the ini, then that would be a problem

    Mame problems

So your roms are definitely stored in the emulators roms folder? What was the reason for a re-import in the first place, was something wrong, or has it broken since you messed with it and re-imported. As far as im concerned if a right click opens mame from Launchbox then the emulator path is correct, that just leaves the rom path.

    Mame problems

What actually happens when you try to launch from launchbox? Turn off the startup screens for a minute so you can see if MAME briefly launches behind that. Also right click a game and choose "Open MAME" does MAME open?

    Mame problems

Nothing has changed with MAME. You say you re-imported today, are your roms now in a different path? Have you updated your mame.ini to point to that new path?
  21. Just re-run the fullset importer.
  22. OK, this is what i have been getting at by asking you what your romset is. You dont have any Arcade roms do you, you are expecting Launchbox to download them for you, correct? Launchbox does not provide any roms, that would be a hugely illegal thing to do, and thats not a good thing for a legitimate business to be doing. You have to provide your own roms to Launchbox, it does not download any and we cannot provide them for obvious legal reasons.
  23. Im asking what your roms are, where did you get them? They would have had a version number on them to let you no the version they are, like the image below.
