  1. What romset do you have? What version number is it and is it non-merged, split or merged?
  2. According to your event log its failing on d3d9.dll, thats obviously a directx issue. Have you tried making sure all your directx is up to date, or actually repairing it in case a part of it got corrupted?
  3. Launchbox never touches files in emulators, it doesnt even now there are any configs to touch or where they even are. My guess is your controller number changes when you reboot your system, so what you set is no longer correct, if so this is a Windows issue, USB devises get numbers and ID's on the order they are detected at boot, which is different every time. As i said Launchbox doesnt even know those controller files are there, let alone how to alter them.
  4. Like you were told in the discord, this is probably due to you not having write privileges on your folder or HDD. Launchbox actually writes the files when you close Launchbox, so if its not saving the imported system its because it couldnt write the file as windows was not allowing it.
  5. It looks like you are running a 32bit version of Windows. Unfortunately Launchbox no longer supports 32bit, its a 64bit application only. Windows 7 is actually at end of life and no longer supported by Microsoft. Id recommend upgrading to Windows 10.

    Slow boot

Well thats not normal, i have 14,740 games over 40 systems, running off of a 8 year old SSD, Launchbox opens in about 6 seconds for me.
  7. I dont hide games, so i cant say for sure, but when i update my romset i just re-run the importer and it keeps my favourites.

    Slow boot

Whats your definition of slow, and how many systems and games are we talking?
  9. Thats just showing a different view, all themes have more than one view.
  10. Try running the installer manually from the Launchbox/Updates folder, just install directly over the top.
  11. This below theme doesnt have background fanart, but it is box art focused.
  12. Launchbox doesnt even do what you are asking to romfiles, its true it only imports working games but you still have the not imported games on your system, unless you manually delete them like you seem to of done. As i said though Launchbox doesnt do anything with CHD files, it doesnt even know they exist, so has no way of deleting what you dont need. Also there is a major flaw in what you are proposing, so you delete all roms and CHD's for games that dont currently work, then next month MAME add 10 new working games, well you are out of luck then as you have deleted those now working games, where as people who just use our importer to import working games will still have those in there collection. Also as a last thing, what you are doing relies on having a full non-merged set, which as you say is around 110GB, thats why most people dont even use a non-merged set, they use a merged or split set, that are around 60GB instead. You can not just delete roms from those sets as other completely different games may be using files in completely unrelated roms. As for the CHD's its very easy to get a list of working games that need a CHD from MAME itself and delete what doesnt work/or what you dont care to play. Personally my CHD collection is about 50GB only.
  13. We do not have that data, are you prepared to go through every game in our database and translate them all to your language? No of course not, and what about other languages other than your own, are you going to translate to all of them as well? Its a great idea in theory, but nobody is going to do the work of translating all of the game descriptions in our database to all the used languages we use on this planet.
  14. You dont import bios files or CHD's to Launchbox, MAME handles those.
  15. You can, but its a long and tedious job, you will have to change the path for each image type one by one, and do it for every platform. Tools/Manage Platforms/Folders tab.
  16. It only replaces actual program files that are needed for the program to run, it doesnt touch any of your data or image folders, but up to you.
  17. Did you change what the buttons for those actions are in Retroarch?
  18. HBMAME is a completely different thing. Dont update the MAME core once you have them matched unless your gonna get a new romset. Or you know use actual MAME, it has less issues than using the Retroarch core.
  19. The core just called MAME is the current version.
  20. FBA, and now FBneo are offshoots of MAME, designed to run a smaller subset of the roms that MAME runs, mostly NeoGeo and CPS games, as well as some others. It is designed to run on lower powered hardware, hence the game selection not having some of the newer stuff that you would likely want. If you want a arcade setup then MAME is your best bet as that has everything from fba as well as more, just make sure to match your romset version and MAME emulator version for 100% compatibility,
  21. Even if you are re-importing you dont need to download the media if you already have it, it will all re-attach after you re-import the roms (assuming you name the platform the same that is).
  22. You may as well just use MAME, everything in the fba romset is in the MAME one.
  23. Im not sure if this is related to recent theme changes or not, but figured id post here. I just downloaded a new theme from the download section. It loads up just fine when selected and i see the platform view and with some animations, however as soon as i try to move the wheel Bigbox freezes for a few seconds and then drops me to the desktop with no crash error. I just tested it twice and had the same results both times. Logs below. Debug 2020-10-30 06-43-18 PM.log Debug 2020-10-30 06-46-11 PM.log
  24. Depending on the emulator or game you are launching Windows will change the resolution to match what the game/emulator is requesting.
  25. Emulators are not 8bit programs for a start, so thats not really relevant. Most emulators, especially from the 8/16bit era only use the CPU for emulation, so the graphics card has no relevance there, also most of those emulators also only use one CPU core, doesnt matter how many you have, only one will be used. So basically emulators are using one CPU core on your PC and nothing else (RAM excluded) so all that matters is pure CPU core speed. If you push certain enhancements in emulators, then you will hit your CPU single core limit pretty quickly.
