A merged set will have many different versions of games in the same zip for example all the different regions and revisions, so you cant just delete the Japanese rom for example as its in the same zip as the US rom. As for the dll, yes that is very important, you need to tell Norton to return it, or better yet not use norton at all.

LAUNCHBOX DEAD after upgrading to 11.6 -
neil9000 replied to frankiefurter's topic in Troubleshooting
Unzip the newest one and copy the Arcade.xml to the Launchbox/Data/Platforms folder and start Launchbox. If that doesnt work try the second newest 7z, etc. -
The download is currupted if i remember, there is a mega link on the page though.

I guess it could be because those files havent been created yet. Is this your first install of Launchbox?

Moderator Guidelines and Contributor Rules
neil9000 replied to Jason Carr's topic in News and Updates
At the end of the day these are the rules that were put in place by Jason, and everybody here has to abide by them, as simple as that, and the rule is no nudity, period. While i also personally disagree with this approach and agree with what others have said that it seems very very strange to me that we are not allowed to see what we, as a species look like, but its perfectly fine to see what our insides look like when opened up in a violent fashion by a knife/gun/explosion, it is what it is I'm afraid. Those are the rules, you abide by them or access to the database for you will be restricted, its as simple as that I'm afraid. -
You can use any bluetooth controller with Android phones, and many have clips for phones built into them or supplied separately, and as @Lordmonkus said there are thousands of cheap Android boxes that connect to TV's.

Games from that era are slower in Europe than other regions. This is due to us in Europe using the PAL TV standard and the US and Japan using the NTSC standard. PAL has a higher resolution than NTSC but is only 50hz, while NTSC is lower resolution than PAL, but runs at 60hz. Most game devs at the time did not take this into account, so PAL games often have a small black bar top and bottom of the screen due to the games being designed on the lower resolution NTSC format, and the games also physically ran slower, at only 50hz instead of 60hz. You can see this effect in motion by playing a racing game from both regions, you will actually get a slower time on the PAL version.

game wheel errors since 11.5 using the unified theme
neil9000 replied to Danabis's topic in Troubleshooting
That wasnt the question though. You were asked if other themes also error so we can identify if its just this theme with a issue. Can you try the Unified Redux theme at least, its a slight mod of Unified, does that give the same error? -
Launchbox suddenly will not open - Error message attached
neil9000 replied to floodie's topic in Troubleshooting
Well that error clearly tells you what is wrong, have you tried deleting that file and trying to launch? also 11.5 is out now, could try installing that also. -
Not really as there is no right or wrong emulator. Launchbox allows you to use any emulator or Retroarch core you like, it also has no built in "knowledge" of what emulators are for what systems or file types that they use, it just does as its told. If you dont tell it a core as in the case of your 3DO it cant load a rom as it essentially doesnt know how to as a emulator hasnt been specified. Essentially its on the user to make sure that a emulator supports a system and that that emulator also supports the file type being loaded, Launchbox has no preconceptions here and will simply try to do what you ask it to. Launchbox also doesnt know if a rom has failed to load, it simply passes it off to the emulator per the settings you have set, it has no way to know whether or not once passed if that rom loaded OK or not, its done its job at that point and if the rom fails to load that will be in the emulators log file and not Launcbox's.

All I did was update when it told me to 11.5
neil9000 replied to Paultimate's topic in Troubleshooting
Happens every update. And when its pointed out they quickly run back to the hole they came from. -
Yup, exactly the behaviour i witnessed.

I actually had this exact same issue the other day. I briefly had a second monitor hooked up so decided to mess with this again, no matter what i set the monitor numbers at in Bigbox the marquee was always on the same screen as the main interface, and minimized. If i hovered on Bigbox in the taskbar i could see both windows open, but i coulnt even get the marquee one to full screen, let alone get it onto the correct monitor. I gave up and disconnected the second monitor again.

Are you having Launchbox move/copy your files when you import? And was you using the Tools/Scan For Added Roms feature?
-
lol, no, no it doesnt. Launchbox imports the files you tell it to, if those are in fact renamed then that is what is imported. Right click the PSP platform and delete it. Then go to your PSP roms folder, click one then CTRL A to highlight them all, then drag and drop onto Launchbox to start the wizard, finish that out as normal.

Everything looks OK for the most part. One thing that does stick out at me, but im not actually sure if its a issue is your rom path, it seems to have a full stop and a underscore before the rom name, so it's ._Wave Race. Is that actually part of the file name? If so try removing that so its just the game name as it may be interfering. Also in your first image i see what i guess are your PSP games. They have no images because of the horrendous naming on them. "Virtua Tennis: World Tour" is in your case named ".0160: Virtua Tennis: World Tour" There is no such game as that so our scraper cannot ID the game. Your Need For Speed is even worse, you need to rename your roms to remove all the extra punctuation and numbering. For Example my roms for PSP and GameCube, notice clean names and with any extra info like regions or revisions inside of brackets.

lol, its fine. I have seen people do this so many times that i knew immediately what you had done. People select the Launchbox folder, rather than the root folder Launchbox is in, so you get a double stacked Launchbox, and Launchbox starts automatically when installed, so you see the fresh install with no existing data rather than all the data you originally had.
